Yea it’s close but I doubt teams alot of teams are gonna offer a first plus a prospect better than niemela. I’ve seen a bunch of people propose Holtz but I don’t see the devils parting ways with him, obviously Holtz is the better prospect and if he’s on the table sharks take him.

I don’t really see it as “helping” Toronto, holl isn’t gonna be playing for the leafs much longer and they’re not gonna pay to get rid of him, they’ll likely just keep him in the press box once liljegren/Benn are healthy. If Muzzin comes back then maybe you’d be helping out the leafs but it doesn’t look that way right now.

Leafs When everyones healthy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>the cap counts in Nashville, too - the Preds currently have $3.9M in cap space, sure, but they only have 20 guys counting. Even if you assume they only bring up 2 guys making the minimum at $750K, that drops their cap space to about $2.4M and that's not enough to eat Kerfoot's deal.
also: even if Nashville is fine running a 22 man roster, there's no way they're sending back a positive asset. They know your cap situation, they're not going to pay for the privilege of helping you get cap compliant (see: recent trades for Dmitry Kulikov, Max Pacioretty, Brent Burns, and Oliver Bjorkstrand returning next to nothing, if anything was sent back at all.)</div></div>
Burns returned a 3rd, Bjorkstrand returned a 3rd+4th, dermott returned a 3rd last year in the exact same scenario. I’m not saying the team is Nashville, but considering Kerfoot is cheaper than all the players you listed, his market value is set at a 3rd that is the discount.

I agree they play similar games but you can never really have enough of what they bring, Colorado has Val and Lehkonen right now who I think play very similar.

I think that in any Muzzin trade, you'd be taking significant cap back. But I doubt that you'd be getting as useful a player as Matt Roy. Joel Armia or Zack Kassian seems about right, but I don't think that either team is interested in Muzzin or that he would waive for Edmonton or Montreal.</div></div>
Yea no shot Muzzin waves for MTL and Edmonton just wouldn’t have the space.

I think your're mistaken about Abruzzese, hes not eligible to play for the Marlies Playoffs in the AHL, hes for sure eligible to play in the NHL playoffs.

I don't think you wanna go into a season with Kallgren as your back-up with Jack's injury history. Campbell likely still asking for close to $5mill, even with struggles. Philippe Myers likely signs when he's bought out by Nashville and is the 7th dman. Ho-Sang isn't worth more than league minimum & doesn't belong in NHL on a contender. Rather see a 4th line checker in that role.</div></div>
I’d be 100% on board with Myers at 7th D, I’d have to disagree with you on Campbell tho I can guarantee he signs for under 4.5. And I’d have to disagree with you about Ho-sang looks real solid on the marlies and is an awesome transition player, I can see Douglas drawing in as the 4C to play a checking role, but I really think Ho-sang gets a shot next year in the NHL, if not for us than another team.

Pretty simple sandin signing for only 1 or 2 years like dermott while liljegren signing long term (again like the whitecloud contract).

1 year left on the contract and with the canucks shopping garland I think Kerfoot would be a solid winger option for them. Again not sure on the team but I think if leafs decide to move Kerfoot someone would be interested for a 2nd/3rd pick.

Doesn’t change the fact that your trade proposal was way off, look at vrana trade, Washington got an impact NHL player along with a first round pick, Nylanders trade value would be similar to that + another asset.

So you wanna trade a 30 goal scoring 60+ point winger from the leafs (win now mode) for a 3rd pairing D, a goalie that’s 2-3 seasons away from playing and a first round pick.

Definitely understand what you're saying about there being a couple options out there, however Edmonton and Buffalo have some trouble attracting UFA's at fair prices maybe Buffalo would throw in a claim instead of Edmonton? Would help Buffalo with meeting the cap floor as well.

I mean I have never thought any of what you just said to be true but, I think it makes sense for a team like Edmonton or Buffalo to claim him. Mrazek is not as bad as he's played for us and is an upgrade for Edmonton next year in a weak UFA goalie market.

Domi is credit with 15 hits this year…. Kerfoot has 56. And Kerfoot has more points while playing 0 pp time. As for Larson he’s not having a great season if you actually watched any of this games instead of just choosing a player that was traded for Taylor hall once.

Maybe im underating millers value, I saw a couple sabres fans trade him for lower picks (3rd round and 5th round). So I thought Johnson value was great than that, and throwing in a pick(or prospect) to retain 1-1.5 mil would get it done. Maybe not tho

yea makes sense, but I also think a lot of people undervalue Johnson (or maybe I over value him a bit) but I see him as being equal in talent right now to Kapanen (Kappy has speed Johnson has a better shot). People think kappy has a lot of room to grow still which I think he will too, but once he was playing with Mathews and JT he did nothing.
