Possible but I'm not aware of that rule. Can't say I'm a waivers expert.

Plus they're trying to make Ontario a team that can compete for a Calder.</div></div>
Lol on the censoring of a guy's name. How silly.
Didn't he clear again in Vegas though? I know he played games for their AHL team. If so, then I don't think LA can just claim him and stash him in the AHL.
I could be wrong here. I'd need to look at the transactions and the rules. I thought that was where things stood though.
Edit: He played AHL games for Vegas but no waivers were listed. Maybe it was conditioning or something. Regardless, my point of posting was that the team should put in a claim. If it works out, then great. If someone else takes him before it gets to Colorado, then it is what it is.

I thought about that possibility but don't think LA will end up claiming him. I'm not super confident in that statement, but I see a situation where it's time for both team and player to move on. We'll see. I'd like him to fall to Colorado though. Stranger things have happened with players on waivers before.

Sharks have everything avs needs
A couple issues for Colorado. One, they can't afford to keep Ferraro. He'd be a great add, but it only works for this year. Two, they need a roster spot for Kovalenko. Sturm takes that.
So while the pieces makes sense to a degree, they don't in the long run.
Kahkonen for like a 4th makes sense though. Just do that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>Maybe but that's a gamble considering how bad Dumba has been. I just plain disagree here. I think it's much more likely to work than not. And it's only a big trade because it costs to move RyJo. If Dumba is worth a third, then really this is like a slight overpay for Dumba and OO as the cost to dump RyJo.

Tanev 14pts, 17TOI 44.3CF, -2.6CFR even strength, -0.6 xGD
JJ 14pts, 15 TOI 46.7CF, -4.8CFR even strength, -1.1xGD
Dumba hasn’t been bailed out by goalies but neither have the other two.</div></div>
He's punching above his weight class in Arizona. Put him in a depth role and I think you'll see much better results.
I prefer to change the 2nd to a 3rd, but I'd probably pull the trigger on this if that's what it takes.

To everyone else’s point, I think it would take a lot for Philly to pull the trigger. But definitely at the top of my wishlist too.
Also echoing other’s points, I think they’d be better off adding a steadier defensive defenseman to pair with Byram. I’d be interested in Edmundson, who probably costs less than Dumba.</div></div>
The main problem with Edmundson, in my eyes, is that Washington won't take Johansen back. I think Arizona would. That's a huge part of the attraction with the Dumba trade.

I like JJ but I think Dumba would be better. Move him away from playing against top competition on a bad team to a depth role on the Avs and you'll see improved results. And if Bo can benefit by moving back to the left, then it's another increased benefit overall.

I'm very surprised about how many Avs fans are against the Dumba trade. It moves JJ to 7D and allows Bo to move back to his forehand. Dumba could fit well with the Avs style of play too. And it rids the team if RyJo. I kinda love it tbh.

You don't get compensated for retention on a guy who is overpaid and still will be after eating half his salary. It's why Colorado got Johansen for free.
A straight swap makes some sense. I have thrown it out there in the past. Maybe it can he plan d or e or whatever. It's certainly not plan a though, and there should be no add from the Avs for the retention.

Definitely agree that Olausson's value has dropped. Behrens has probably maintained his worth. Kovalenko has certainly exceeded his draft spot and should be worth a fair amount now that he's under contract.
Regardless of what those three combined are in terms of picks, it's a monster price.
Honestly, if Crosby to Colorado were to happen (I don't think it will), I would expect the price to be a lot lower than what his actual value is. I assume he'd be flexing his NMC heavily, and that Pittsburgh would first and foremost look to do right by him. They'd get some good assets but not full value.
All that said, I'm not gonna think too much about it until there's an actual reason to do so. He's not moving by the tdl, so we have all offseason for these.

Thanks for the feedback. I know it's not incredibly exciting, but the Kraken get a couple young guys who should be able to contribute and a decent pick. Not too bad.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marked_Difference</b></div><div>Why not go hard at AZ for both Dumba and Bjugstad? it will cost because AZ does not want to part with Bjugstad but the two players fill the need and don't break the cap. Boogy has 1 more year on his contract so there is that to consider.
Same overall package just add Bjugstad and the COL 24 1st. gives the needed cap relief an extra year of a quality middle six center and the minute munching, right shot, toughness on the blue line that Colorado is in need of.
Breakdown
Dumba & Bjugstad = COL 24 1st and Olausson
Johansen 8MM cap relief = 25 3rd
Dumba and Bjugstad / for/ 24 1st, 25 3rd, Olausson, and Johansen</div></div>
I don't see Bjugstad as the best fit for Colorado. Like the player but I just think he'd either be playing out of position (i.e. too high in the lineup) force someone like Colton into the same. That's just me though. I know some folks feel differently.

That's why ì would only pay what I would pay. He's not a 2C, and the Avs have a lot of bottom six players. He also doesn't really fit with what the current bottom six is structured to do.
The only way it makes sense is if they're thinking he might be able to carry the load between two strong wingers. He might, but that's a big gamble if giving up significant assets.

Kerfoot hasn't been consistent enough in his career to justify much more. He's a good player, but he's not quite top six on a Cup team, and he's not really in the mould of a bottom six player either. That hurts his value a good amount in my eyes.

That said, if the price is Henrique for a first (very reasonable considering the Lindholm/Monahan deals), is last year’s late 1st round pick all that much different from just offering this year’s late first rounder? Especially if a second is going back in return for the former? Wondering if it’s just the endowment effect for the reaction we both had, because Calum likely shouldn’t be seen as that much more valuable that a ‘24 1st right?</div></div>
Button has Ritchie as a AA prospect and one of the best affiliated prospects in the entire league. You can make an argument he's too high on Ritchie, but it illustrates that he is more valuable than the 2024 1st, and probably by a lot tbh.
In my opinion, Ritchie is completely untouchable for a rental. He would only be made available a young and proven 2C. You guys have a bunch of those, but I don't think you want (or have and reason) to move them.
