I'm very surprised about how many Avs fans are against the Dumba trade. It moves JJ to 7D and allows Bo to move back to his forehand. Dumba could fit well with the Avs style of play too. And it rids the team if RyJo. I kinda love it tbh.

$2.1M this year and next is so appealing. Even if he takes a step back offensively, the number doesn’t kill you. To everyone else’s point, I think it would take a lot for Philly to pull the trigger. But definitely at the top of my wishlist too.

Also echoing other’s points, I think they’d be better off adding a steadier defensive defenseman to pair with Byram. I’d be interested in Edmundson, who probably costs less than Dumba.

Dumba has been truly awful this year that’s a big overpay even including RyJo. Just for some comps
Dumba 10pts 20TOI 38.7 CF (woof), -6.7CFR even strength, -11.7 xGD
Tanev 14pts, 17TOI 44.3CF, -2.6CFR even strength, -0.6 xGD
JJ 14pts, 15 TOI 46.7CF, -4.8CFR even strength, -1.1xGD

Dumba hasn’t been bailed out by goalies but neither have the other two.

Potentially. But they could dump Johansen to AZ or elsewhere in a separate deal if needed.

I prefer to change the 2nd to a 3rd, but I'd probably pull the trigger on this if that's what it takes.

Maybe but that's a gamble considering how bad Dumba has been. It's a stiff price to pay for a very questionable D and to dump Joey. I mean, if it doesn't work, they can go back to JJ but you definitely want a big trade like that to work and it seems more likely not to work than it is to work.

I just plain disagree here. I think it's much more likely to work than not. And it's only a big trade because it costs to move RyJo. If Dumba is worth a third, then really this is like a slight overpay for Dumba and OO as the cost to dump RyJo.
