Dvorak Staying with 17 in 22 under MSL
WHat is this love affair everyone has with Radek Faska? I just dont see it. another 30 point producer, NO THANK YOU, stop mentioning him in trades, we are rebuilding not adding patches.

If the Habs win the Lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsLoveZuki</b></div><div>Habs decline the first 2 and the ducks decline the third one</div></div>
I agree with the decline of the first one. Why would Montreal trade Petry for Khudobin? If the Habs wanted him they could claimed him off Waivers back in December for nothing. People talk about Petry like he is washed up, it is like Pierre Lebrun said, Petry didn't just wake up one morning and forget how to play hockey. Family issues, Covid, not getting along with the coach all lead to Petry's lack of performance early in season. Since MSL took over, Petry has 20 pts in 28 games and is like a -2. The guy can still skate, still shoot, work a PP and PK, and how he played in Playoffs last season, he is totally worth more than this trade.
As for the second trade, I believe Drouin has talent and skill, and MAYBE the right coach brings it out of him. I dont see much of a return for him, seeing how he is a UFA end of next season, I see him more of a Tatar type deal, more of a throw in.
The 3rd deal you think Comtois is worth more than that? the guy was a late 2nd rounder himself who hasn't really lit the lamp that much, he has potential yes, but so could another 2nd round pick, maybe even moreso.

fast and young
WHY? OH WHY? Does everyone want Faska? The guy is another player just like what we have, a player than cant score. Montreal doesnt need to add more garbage to the team they need to get rid of the garbage they got and get some young prospects. You wanna do a deal with Dallas, then I suggest going after Wyatt Johnston or Mavrik Bourque, and if you want an everyday player look at Hakanpaa, dude is signed for another year his a RHD, makes very little, over 200 hits a season and over 100 blocked shots .No more dumpster diving.

Hugues moves
What Da F, is everyones love of Faska from Dallas and Dallandrea, Faska is NOT what Montreal needs, we have a tone of people not living up to potential or not making an effort and CANT score. Dont need be giving up a 4 Dman on many teams along with a first round pic, in Poehling who puts up same points this season as Faska....I would prefer Keep Poehling, if you wanna get someone back for Petry, get Wyatt Johnston.

Dont get me wrong I wasnt saying the trade would happen I am saying It could happen for the right package but Laffy numbers dont indicate he is anything special and YES there were comparisons of him to Crosby in Junior because he didnt like being compared to him. Yes he was supposed to be the next big thing out of Junior another Generational talent when he was in Junior according to some scouts and reports, Quebecs McDavid.....anyway Rangers arent moving him....but he hasnt shown any signs of being what he was hyped to be. But as a Habs fan I would love to have him, I think he will be wasted in NY

Details for each move - Trades - Signing
I been watching hockey my whole life champ, I dont just look at stats, I also see stupid stuff players do with no given hockey sense. As for Pitlick, there was a report out about WHY the Habs should be careful signing Pitlick LONG TERM, Pitlick makes a lot of bonehead no look passes to the other team he throws away the puck in the offensive and defensive zone, being used on the PK doesnt mean you are good defensively, being a penalty killer is about quickness which Pitlick has he is quick to the puck, being defensively aware 5 on 5 is different, he doesnt pick up his guy he doesnt cover anyone he puck watches and chases....Wideman is always out of position, what he does on the PP many other including Clague/Niku could do it if given the chance. Niku was a draft pick playing D on a team with Buff, Chairot, Morrissey, Kulikov, Trouba and Tyler Myers so he never got a real chance to prove himself....Clague is JUST 23, like he is still a kid, as you say there is a reason Niku cleared waivers, there is also a reason Wideman had to go play in the KHL and havent played in NHL since 2018-19, if he was any good and a PP specialist some team would have found use for him...and he is 32....I rather on a rebuilding team let Clague and Niku have a crack at it, not like we are competing for a playoff spot in next few years. ALSO, not just a stat reader but stats are stats for a reason, usually indicators, to go along with watching what players do on the ice matter.
Also here is the Article analyzing Pitlicks defensive woes
https://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/nhl/hockey-inside-out/canadiens-by-the-numbers-pitlick-delivers-offence-but-d-is-a-concern
Makes sure to read it all.

Some Solid points i agree with. Some I do not..
Rem Pitlick you say isnt a liability when in actual fact 5 on 5 he is 2nd worst defensively in NHL only one worse is Galchenyuk....That is to say when he is on the ice, the chances he creates vs the good chances the other team gets are far out numbered. He does play hard and he has good offensive instincts he just needs to clean his game up a little and a good 3rd line winger yes I agree.
As for Wideman, he is not a PP Specialist, he is ok but I think others can be used, Defensively he is terrible 5 on 5 he is terrible, he is always out of position, I like his compete level but he is bad. You knock Clague, say he can only skate, Clague can handle the puck he can skate it out of trouble can join the rush, he isnt aggressive defensively but I am sure he can do what Wideman does on the PP, and as for Niku, you are basing his inability to play Defense in 13 games? The guy in his rookie year in the AHL put up 56 points and won Defenseman of the year, in 13 games with Habs he had 6 points, and a +3 playing 3rd pairing minutes...I'd say get rid of Wideman, let the younger guys play and give them a legit shot, we arent going to be great next year so why not see what they can do... Also as for Defensive abilities, NONE of the Habs are really showing they know how with the way MSL has them playing.

You all may say Lafreniere wont be traded, but thing is, he has NOT dominated as everyone expected he was major talent along Crosby and McDavid, and he gets no minutes in NY because he is not performing. If the rangers get a first round pick and a 25-30 goal scoring forward, plus other picks they would be crazy NOT to consider it. This about not taking Anderson because they are up against the cap, Rangers arent close tot he cap they are at about 75Mil Just saying. Maybe they dont trade him, however his performance thus far doesnt command a Kings Ransom, The days of demanding a lot for Hype are done.

Lets give the kids more time in Laval
I agree with you, but most fans want all the kids playing in the nhl right now. They see Barron play a few games yeah kid looks good and he is NHL ready, but he still makes a lot of bad mistakes, he doesnt use his size to his advantage and doesn't play physical. Harris is a smooth skater, and he JUST got out of college, it is a big step to the NHL from college so a year or so in Minors will only help him. Ghule should as well spend a couple years in the minors. Ylonen could and should get a legit shot at a spot on the roster. You have those 3 D, and Schueneman in Laval and used properly, on the PP on the PK, you watch their growth. there is nothing wrong with a couple years in the minors, the new management has often spoke of player development, well you dont develop players at the NHL level. As for the guys comment on Clague, he is far from dog *&^% as you put it. The guy can skate, handle the puck make a good pass, very similar style play as Harris, He actually should be given more time and more opportunity, he has been paired with Wideman all season who is such a bad Defensive Dman, he is Petry 2.0, you Pair Clague with Edmundson, use Clague in same manner Petry was used with Edmundson, you will see a difference. I'd like to see him actually get some PP time, especially with his skating and passing skills, Same goes for Niku, Niku was AHL top defenceman in 2018, put up good numbers, just needs a chance to prove himself, and playing on a 3rd pairing 10 minutes a game wont cut it.

What is need
How do you figure Lopsided? Just Curious....enlighten me.....So you don't think you guys will make the playoffs? Never heard of teams giving up something they may not want to in order to take a run at a cup? Kings have lots of down middle prospects and NO WHERE to play them, you got Kopitar and Danualt under contracts for next few years...and Lizotte filing in at 3rd line center just fine.
Who you guys got to run a 2nd PP unit after Doughty? Durzi?? Petry has had 40 pt seasons his last 4 seasons, yeah this year has been rough for him, but he didn't just wake up one day and forget how to play hockey. The Man in Playoffs played with one hand broken and modified glove and still played unreal, then you got Gallagher who is a spark plug, can score you 20-30 goals, plus goes to the dirty areas....for Byfield, who has large upside for sure, as for the rest, well Clarke is a crap shoot, he could become an NHL'er maybe who knows he is an unknown, and Maatta, well he is a toss in UFA end of season and a cap move .....The big loss "potentially" is Byfield....Still no guarantee he becomes a star.....Anyway that is just my thoughts on it....

Just Maybe
Well funnier things have happened, Georgiev is a UFA seasons end. Lafreniere hasn't lived up to hype by ANY stretch. Since Rangers are deep in talent and prospects, maybe they take a shot at a cup, and move a piece to help them get there.
