Flames 2020
- Really like the 1st trade, think it makes more sense for NJ with Gillies.
- If Brodie is traded to MTL at least 1 of Juulsen or Danault should be coming the other way.
- Neal wont play on the 2nd line unless we move Backlund down l, they have completely polar playstyles
- Tkachuk, and Rittich are underpaid here, Chucky will probably get 8M +/- 250K, Rittich will get at least the same as Talbot but not much more than 3M at most
- Quine can be demoted for more cap and we can probably bury Stone if someone overperformes him

Trading Zucker to Columbus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>take out anderson and the 2nd</div></div>
Anderson is pretty much the whole point of making this trade, the Wild need right shot top 6 forwards and Anderson fits the bill perfectly. Milano would be Zucker's eventual replacement and the 1st is because we are thin on top prospects after years of trading away our 1st and 2nd round picks. I thought this trade was pretty fair, a 30 goal scorer to replace most of Panarin's production and an early round draft pick for a roster player that hasn't had a breakout year yet, a nice prospect that is NHL ready, and a 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Banana_Hamonic</b></div><div>Jankowski is going to get more than Czarnik because he's a C, I'm guessing 1.5/ 2 years. I could see Janko getting the 3rd line spot after a while, but there's a super good chance that Ryan starts in that spot. Janko is going to have to play his way into the top 9 again.</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback! (But nobody's answering my question about Troy Brouwer!)

Jankowski and Czarnik on very similar trajectories, I think that with the negotiation skill Treliving has you will see Janko come in around 1.3-1.5 for 3 years. I think that he will still get a chance to run that third line in a scoring role, and Derek Ryan will be a more defensively oriented C in the 4 spot. Janko is an important re signing because it was only his first year with the big club last year and he definitely proved worth of a roster spot going forward, if he can continue to progress the way that he is then I think as Backlund ages he moves to the 3rd line in a true shut down role and Janko will move up to the second in more of a traditional secondary scoring role.

Does this line up make the playoffs?
Zibanejad is untouchable according to most sources as New York's views on him are super high. But even if you got him, I doubt this team makes the playoffs with Claude's system unless Mete develops a ton in one offseason and doesn't get bodied as often due to his size.

True, However I would like to have a proven NHL Product in exchange for Patch. Not a fan of trading a guy whos consistently scored 30 to 40 goals a year for a prospect. It's kind of unknow, I like the O'reilly idea.

I really don't like the paul Stastny contract, 5 years 6mil for a guy that old is really really risky in my opinion.

Flames, trades with Minnesota & Montreal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cberg</b></div><div>Ferland for Niederrater is a saw-off. Why in the world would you throw-in Kylington and Stone for nothing? NOT a good idea.</div></div>
Because Ferland brings scoring and nothing else, and when he is not scoring, he is dragging that line down. Meanwhile, Niederreiter drives play, and does a lot more to help keep the line dangerous. <a href="https://public.tableau.com/profile/bill.comeau#!/vizhome/shared/RHQP43JHG" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://public.tableau.com/profile/bill.comeau#!/vizhome/shared/RHQP43JHG</a>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Banana_Hamonic</b></div><div>Then we should look elsewhere. It's not worth overpaying, but I don't want to give up Brodie for another left handed winger. Even if the value is there, it just doesn't fix our need.</div></div>
The issue is right shot wingers are really hard to find that fit in terms of ability and flexibility and age. He fits boxes better than the free agents. Niederreiter is a great fit, but after him, more talent is more important, and he cna bring that. If you have a suggestion, please, but keeping Brodie is less of a fit than adding Galchenyuk.

Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMTD</b></div><div>Bennett, Kylington, Dube & 2020 2nd is very intriguing. If the change of scenery could get Bennett to revive his game, Buffalo would win this trade easily. All trades are a gamble, I would make the trade you suggested.</div></div>
The original trade for Reinhart was MASSIVE overpayment, and this is even worse. How about Bennett for Reinhart, and I'd be reluctant to do that one either. These trade proposals throw in players and picks as if they are worthless. That's how teams get and stay competitive, its their pipelines to the future. Reinhart hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire, and for a few extra points you lose massive speed, aggresive competitiveness and better defensive play that comes with Bennett. And that's before even considering the other "throw-ins". No thanks!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Banana_Hamonic</b></div><div>I doubt Buffalo says yes. On Calgary's side, I would't trade 3 young players and a pick for a young player. Also Bennett still plays well despite not producing so why not keep him in the bottom 6 with Janko for at least one more season? I'd trade Ferland rather than Bennett, Ferland's value is higher even though I think Bennett will be the better player.</div></div>
Idk I like what Ferland brings to the team and i agree that Fernies value is probs higher then Bennett's by a small margin but I think Bennett would be better for Buff to get in return on the chance they trade O'Reilly he could potentially be his future replacement.

I would counter with.....
Bennett
Kylington
Gawdin or Dube
2020 2nd Round pick</div></div>
I don't think managers would see the value in Gawdin that fans see, he is an over age WHL player who may turn into nothing, Dube would be the piece you want if you are increasing value. Gawdin's would be less than Kylington in my mind.

I don't think Lindholm would be redundant on this roster at all because he is a legit top 6 forward with a right hand shot, plus he also plays center and is really good at face offs. Good guy to pair with an inexperienced C like Jankowski.

I like Lindholm and he checks most boxes between his age and skillset, but with the Flames already getting Hayes and Palmieri in your scenario, doesn't he become a bit redundant from a depth perspective? Especially when you're giving up a first round pick?
