The thing people don't realize is that you can buy him out and only have a 1.6mill cap hit (not sure how long). But that's something that can easily be done by a team like San Jose or Chicago. Oilers shouldn't have to give up more imo.</div></div>
You double the amount of years left on the contract so 1.6 x 6 hypothetically the team trading for Campbell could hold onto him for a year to make the buy out 1.6 x 4 but 4 years is still a long time.
The team acquiring Campbell will need to be cap compliant at the time of the trade and then they could buy him out..so it still limits your trade partners.

Get ready to hear that it costs more to dump Campbell, 3 more years at 5M.
There will only be a handful of teams that can handle that contract, Chicago is one of them. I'm not convinced a late 1st round pick will be enough for a 5 Million AHL goalie.
This is my personal opinion but Edmonton doesnt really have any young guys I am that interested in. Maybe Holloway but other than that I dont think they have any top tier prospects.

Unless Toronto does something drastic like move Tavares or Marner, I dont see a way for them to sign Nylander.
Rantanen is my 2nd choice, but like you said.. if they make it to free agency.

It doesnt matter how many fewer games they've played when they arent winning.

I really thought Ottawa was ready to take the next step this year, I thought they would be playoff bound.

The D prospect you are thinking of might be Levshunov, from Belarus. The d prospects are probably a strength of this team, adding a high end right shot could round out that group.
Chicago should push for Nylander this off season. He isnt the defensive wizard like Hossa but he elevates the guys around him.
Id rather have Nylander at 11M then Boeser at 8M. I see a lot more Tor games than Van so I am more familiar with Nylander.

Probable best offense in the league
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brolekb2b</b></div><div>I get that you said that the Hagel deal is for fun, but considering how crucial Hagel has become to the Lightning lineup I can't see a world in which that trade happens, even if Hagel isn't making 1.5M anymore.
I'd even go as far as to say his current trade value has exceeded his acquisition cost</div></div>
The Hagel Trade has worked for both sides. Hagel has had success in Tampa, Chicago fans are pretty excited about Oliver Moore, and when Tampa misses the playoffs this year Chicago gets a top 15 pick : )

With the mess that Edmonton is in I wonder if Holland is holding the reigns. Final year of his contract and unless this team figures it out it might be his last.
Jeff Jackson could be the one calling the shots, negating any Holland-Mrazek conflicts.

I would be fine with this return. The 1st and Holloway might make up for Campbell, might. 3rd for Perry is reasonable.
Campbell seems to be liked by his teammates he could be a little reclamation project while Cap space is available.
But I have a hard time believing Chicago Signed Perry just to move him 15 games into the season.

Not that big of an issue with the Cap space available.. but Reichel, Raddysh and Vlasic are all underpaid.
Nazar is off to a hot start in the NCAA, he could earn a spot on the wing next training camp.

This isnt enough for Murphy, adding Dach wont be popular among Blackhawks fans. Especially for this return.
Murphy and Dach starts with a 1st, probably a 2nd as well, you can keep the mix mash of prospects.
If you need to move money to make the deal work Beauvillier/ Garland might work, but im not particularly excited about either guy.

Toronto is a team with plenty of offense. Investing in a guy that helps keep the puck out of your own net seems wise. Murphy and McCabe are good friends, played USA NDTP together, could be a shut down pairing.
Just looking at stats, sure Murphy doesnt look that impressive

Why not 7
Murphy immediately becomes Torontos best defensive defenseman. The package going to Chicago isn't what they need.
Chicago has 13 picks in the top 2 rounds over the next three drafts, a 3rd round pick doesn't really move the needle.
Sure Jarnkrok/Lil-J would play, But Chicago is trying to figure out what their own prospects can do in the NHL, Jarnkrok/ Liljegren get in the way of developing those guys.
Not the right players or picks for Murph

Mega Cap Space Shinanigans
Both of the first round picks from Chicago will most likely be Top 10 selections. I like Nylander, but it doesnt make sense for Chicago if thats what it costs.
Adding Brodie in there is a sneaky move. He would not be long term fit with Chicago, moving money is not free in this league.

Is this enough for Kurashev
Im not sure what the plan is with Kurashev when hes healthy.
On the surface i will say no its not the package Chicago is looking for.
Chicago has three young goalies, Soderblom, Commesso and Gajan. I dont see them looking for a 4th
Meyers cleared waivers Oct 2nd, Chicago could have had him for free and passed.
Really this trade comes to the 2nd and Bogosian.
Bogosian is am upgrade on the current 5/6th dspot, he brings some leadership and some toughness so i can see the value there. but D is another position where Chicago has young guys that need a chance to play.

Hawks 25-26
Chicago has a handful of Forward prospects that should be able to contribute to the NHL roster come 2025, Obviously you need to surround those players with some experienced NHL players.. Some prospects will be moved for NHL talent, but there are some prospects missing.
No to Carter Hart. One of Soderblom, Commesso or Gajan will have the net.
Kaiser, Nolan and hopefully Rinzel will be a part of the d-core by 2025
Ludwinski, Greene, Dach and should be a part of this team. Lardis, Marcel and Misiak are longer shots.
Again, not everyone will become full time NHLers, and some of these prospects might be traded for NHL ready talent.

Help for Bedard
Batherson is a nice player on a decent contract, but he does not get you Korchinski. The rest of the trade is just Fugazi.
Most Chicago fans will say Korchinski has looked better than expected these first few games. It will need to be a special trade for Chicago move Korchinski right now.
