Wishful Thinking
Yzerman should, and probably will, stay as far away from Kadri as possible. He is going to get so insanely overpaid this summer.

That Boston trade is bad for Detroit and I don't think Boston is that interested in Leddy, although I did see somewhere they were.
Edmonton is not paying that much for gagner and Greiss.
Montreal is not dumping Weber.

I don’t think you understand the Shea Weber contract. It doesn’t impact Montreal in any way other than the owner having to pay out the money. Obviously he will pay it no problem…so yea, Montreal won’t be paying assets to get rid of it. It would be another team who would be interested in the contract if they want to reach the cap floor. I don’t think it will cost much to acquire the contract through . Probably a late round pick , not more

I like it, but would play Rasmussen at wing and let Veleno be the 3rd line center.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Berickson13</b></div><div>Larkin is still the best player on the team, he’s ridiculously responsible on both ends of the ice. But he certainly doesn’t look like he did last year. His defensive game is a bit better but you don’t see him driving the play as often as he did last year</div></div>
You're right, Larkin has INSANE defensive numbers. They are on a completely new level than last year. If he was 2C on like Washington or Boston I would argue he would be a selke candidate. Hes seriously that good. His offensive numbers have taken a hit, but so has the entire teams. Also, teams have adjusted to him. After his breakout year last year, they've figured out how to shut him down more this year. This is basically his sophomore year of being treated like the extremely skilled 1C he is. He'll have to adjust his game as well, which he will. We'll see if he can become that elite offensive 1C we need.

Something seems off, not sure what it is, but does not seem like the player from last year. Hard to believe since he is in a contract year.</div></div>
It's the entire team. Last year after 36 games they had 104 goals and 119 goals against and after 36 games this season they have 79 goals for and 140 goals against. So 25 less goals for and 21 more goals against. Thats a -15 to a -61 goal differential. We knew the Wings were going to be bad with several defensemen in their last season with the team and a few prospects that will replacing them it's hard to balance playing time in a situation like that. Then throw in all the injuries it complicates it even further. Plus Yzerman has been giving a lot of the Griffins a few NHL games most likely to get an idea of exactly what he has in the AHL since it has been about 10yrs since he has been with the team. Now watching On The Fly about a week ago they were talking about Fabbri's recent success with Detroit and Kevin Weeks said "You really have no idea how hard it is to score on a team playing that bad." AA points are only 4 off of last seasons pace but Larkin is 10 points off of last seasons pace.

zadina hasn't looked out of place let the kid play. AA who we all think is getting moved is the one whos suffering. for a guy we want to sell high on we sure aren't showcasing him. the return for aa gets less everyday.

Overpaid almost everyone except Mantha, who you underpaid by $1M+. Bertuzzi is pretty accurate, though. Can't say the same for everyone else. Maybe Athanasiou, but hopefully, as you suggest, we won't have to deal with that contract.

I definitely see Erne slotting up, at least to the 3rd line, but you could make an argument for a AA/Fil/Erne line too, and let him be the sandpaper on that line (I do really like Hirose on that line too, but this make too much sense to me).
I also see Ras playing in GR, along with Veleno, Zadina (as much as it hurts me to say this) and Svech. Zadina's issue last year was he was basically playing with anyone of us at C, and while he would do well to play with an NHL C, him and Veleno can grow up together in GR (which will be much deeper this year in all aspects).

Better off burying abby for 2 years and then buying out the final 2 years of his deal. Otherwise we will have to pay a team to take on that abby deal, even if we retain 50%. Nielsen and Helm are prly movable if we retain but it's pointless right now. Getting rid of Glen would be crazy. He's a great player, especially for only 1.8 mil per year.

Taylor Raddysh and others have been linked as possible offers along side Callahan even J T Miller as well. No one is taking on Callahan's contract unless a pretty good sweetener is added to the deal. And a 2nd doesn't do it.[/quote
That contract only has one year left on it and he can still play bottom 6 role, Tampa would rather hold on to it for the year than trade away half of the future or buy it out</div></div>
