Fair enough, Donato was just a cheap player that would fit in the 3rd line role, and he has been here before and would probably be more comfortable and may have more chemistry with some of these guys, thats really the only reason I chose him, if I didn’t do Donato I would just pull up Beckman or Oghren

The leafs would have to retain salary for that to work with the Wild, they dont have the room for big moves like that, but if we wanted the Leafs to retain I wouldn’t mind giving up a little more

You say that guy like Ekholm is some nobody, but you’re not wrong, Spurgeon is never gonna waive and Guerin isnt gonna trade him because of the leadership role

Wild Offseason scenerio
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Legendsofthenorth</b></div><div>Mcleod fills two huge needs and is worth it to MN to pay him over Shaw</div></div>
In what way, he’s not an offensive producer, we are already physical, and an above average pk team, idk his game but i dont see how a $2M player who fits the same sort of role that the 800k player is any better, the only different thing he may bring is speed but the wild have that in Duhaime, and face off ability, but still Shaw as a great PK player but the only major concern is injury, i would still take a player thats $1M cheaper that plays essentially the same role, especially with the cap situation…

Wild Offseason scenerio
Duhaime isnt getting 1M, also we will probably end up resigning Shaw for around league minimum too, and he is cheaper than McLeod, you probably want more cap room for a 21 man roster, and I doubt Ohgren is NHL ready this year, Beckman makes much more sense in that spot, also JEEK would center Boldy-Jojo, the only reason Gaudreau did was because JEEK was injured

Its under the pretense we sign him next summer, we probably wont, and yeah he will probably get something more like 8x6/7 than 6.75x5

Scratches are guys that i think could be in the lineup but didn’t know where to fit them in, with how this roster is structured, its easier having guys like Ohgren in the minors than playing 4th line, same with Yurov and Khusdnutdiov, Peart could def fit in as like a 7th D guy though and maybe split games with Lambos, and as for Zucc, he will keep solid production when he is playing with Kaprizov, but he is much cheaper due to age

Guentzel Trade Alternative Plus Loading Up Picks
It is good value for Guentzel, I love the idea, money constraints are an issue though, if you added like a Foligno into the trade instead of Hartman it makes more sense money wise I think, but Hartman is probably more valuable but its a good idea nonetheless, Guentzel with Boldy would be a deadly duo for this season and then he would make a great pair with Kirill next season if Zuccarello leaves

I dont understand moving Spurgeon at all, he was one of the better defensive Defenceman this season in the league, played the most penalty kill minutes on the team and plays a major leadership role, in no way ever will the wild move him like that unless he asks to be traded

Lindholm could be great as a 1C between Kirill and Zucc, but it just doesn’t make sense with the cap, the wild would need to add another piece either another pick or prospect probably and the flames would have to retain more salary for it to work I think

Steel is honestly just an extra because we wont sign him, I feel like a prospect would be more enticing to the Yotes, maybe someone like Bankier or O’Rourke

Probably none of those guys on the 3rd line will be regular in 2024-25</div></div>
Most are ELC’s so i assume you’re talking about Zucc, Gus, and Scheifele, i think they can be fair numbers, Zucc could be a lot cheaper but Gus i think 4.5 is probably what he is worth because I think he is in the Oettinger contract range with his production, he’s worth more than flower so he will for sure get more than 3.5 this offseason because I bet thats the argument his agent makes, and Scheifele it depends on his production next season, which I think will end up being better than this year by a bit

It wasn’t made to make sense anyways, I just wanted to add all the young gopher players to the wild, but its fair if they wanted to trade him, like if he was unwilling to sign with St.Louis, then i think it makes some sense, again still an underpayment

The more picks they have the better, they could always use those to trade up for a much better player in the 6-12 range

Good, I dont like Addison, seems low for him but also fair based on the fact he was a healthy scratch the back half of the season, I dont see the need to resign him, especially because he will most likely ask for 1.5M+, which we cant afford

The dumbest rental idea on planet earth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jeffrey4649</b></div><div>If Guerin made that trade without getting an extension for Matthews he should be fired immediately. Even with one in place I wouldn't make that deal.</div></div>
If there’s one in place, I know I said rental but I made the assumption there is, its fair I think, sure it’s a lot you have to give up but you gotta think this is a guy that is top 3-5 in the league consistently and will help elevate Kaprizov’s game to the point where its a duo like McDavid and Draisaitl, it seems reasonable to me because unless those draft picks become franchise players, you’re gaining so much more scoring that you didn’t have before, and its not like Matthews is a defensive liability either so you’re not losing too much there either
