Breaking the buyout button
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blackmore23</b></div><div>but for Puljujärvi and Bear... yes Hyman is a key piece to help either Matthews or Tavares out, but for the long run it could work out.</div></div>
Hyman is the guy kids would look up to when he is older as a player that made it through the hard work and dedication. He is the role model of everything new Maple Leafs is about. I would move a pick for Puljujarvi. We have guys like Ethan Bear in the system. No need for him tho.

Not unless Liljegren pans out. Which he very well could. You develop D, you dont sign/trade for them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jempey82</b></div><div>Another thing to take into account is that there is a good chance the cap goes upto the 83 mil range which with this lineup gives an additional chunk which would cover contingencies. Although it would also only cover the true salaries of Marner Matthews and Nylander. It's close but it does show just how cap staples we are in the future.</div></div>
Key word there is future. And in the future we wont have 6.25 million tied up in Marleau. Guys I really think we are good, truly.

Crazy lines
I know you said they are crazy lines but there is no way neal plays third line minutes
I think czarnik has crazy potential to play on the first line but he has to prove himself first. if he is looking steller at the beginning of the season and neal doesn't click with Monahan and johnny then that's a line you may see around game 20
Bennett has proven he cant play centre so I seriously doubt he will play centre this year. especially when ryan is 56% on faceoffs
all the defensive lines are definetly possible but andersson is gonna have to get allot better inorder to play alongside gio
nice what if post however

Defensive Combos (Question to Leafs Fans)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>Personally, I think that the line up changes drastically based on who gets that last spot, Holl, Carrick, or Ozhiganov. Trying to set up lines before training camp will be pointless unfortunately. That being said, I'd love to see the first pair be Rielly - Gardiner again. Dermott could also move to the right should this not happen, and it could lead to interesting combos.
Rielly - Zaitzev
Gardiner - Dermott
Hainsey - Carrick/Ozhiganov/Holl
but lets be real, It will be the same lines as last year.
Gardiner - Zaitzev
Rielly - Hainsey
Dermott/Borgman - Carrick/Holl/Ozhiganov</div></div>
I think it was most unkind of you to give this post three stars. Frankly, I don't understand at all since your comment seems positive.

Sam Reinhart
I think you're on the right path.
I wonder why you think the Preds have to give up an extra pick? The Sabres are getting the best player in the trade (Ellis) although Reinhart still has a lot of runway to reach his potential. Jarnkrok and Beaulieu are at best a wash and the argument could be made that Jarnkrok has more value with his ability to play multiple positions and situations.
Flip the pick around the other way and I could be on board.

Car Trade
Toronto says no in my opinion. Same with Colorado. Jost has elite potential and I don’t want to lose Olli without us getting back a solid defenseman as well.

If Florida would say yes to this trade it would be a steal for STL. Schenn is elite t but Barkov is a franchise player in my opinion

3 way trade - Ottawa side - Rebuliding in progress
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blackmore23</b></div><div>Assuming so, but Girardi and Callahan might have to get pushed from Tampa Bay's staff in order for them to bring in Karlsson</div></div>
Both guys are respected NHL vets who still are entrenched in the team. "Pushing" these guys out would not only piss off some players, it would look bad on the organization. Their best bet is to try and convince them to waive it by moving them to places they might actually want to go to. Otherwise they are struck with them. If I'm Callahan and Girardi and I'm part of a potential cup winner, I ain't moving for ****. I want a cup and I don't want to move my family to make the organization happy. There is a reason they signed NMC contracts.

3 way trade - Tampa Bay side - getting Karlsson
The lightning 2019 1st is already going to the Rangers.
And your not taking Ryan, then will have to give point or Foote to the Senators too.

I agree that he would be good for the young kids but why would he agree to go to that dumpster fire of an organization to finish out his career?

Calgary Flames signed James Neal (5 Years / $5,750,000 AAV)
A bit of an overpay for a player who is likely to decline in production. (Can be said for all UFAs I guess) Calgary can be happy for 2 to 3 years though. Don't hate this move, it will improve the Flames. I think they have done some good things this off season. Better team next year.
