I don’t think the difference between Bratt and MT is Holtz, a first, and 3-4M in cap space. Bratt, a lower tier prospect like Mukmuhdallin, and a lottery protected first would be more our speed

I think they easily accept this deal. Big fan of Bratt, but MTbrings more to the table

Its a tough pill to swallow but I think Neighbours, a first, a second, tarasenko and another mid level prospect and maybe Barbashev or some similar combo might be enough. Especially when you consider that the Blues could take a gamble and wait a year just to sign Tkatchuk as a UFA.</div></div>
Not sure the Blues have the pieces without one of them, pretty shallow prospect pool

Bratt for Tkachuk
I think it’s a good trade assuming that’s an unprotected first. Would like to have an extension in place upon trading for him but that likely drives the price higher. It’s a gamble

Miller would be a fool to take anything resembling Lindgrens deal. He’s a stud and should be compensated as such

Yes, but keep in mind that the surplus of the asset (top 4 RHD) in question is arguably the most in demand asset in the NHL

What’s cute is MTL fans parading Josh Anderson around like he’s Eric Lindros. Guy has a 5.5 million cap hit and has broken 35 points and 20 goals one time. We get it, he’s big and fast, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good hockey player

“Two respected hockey statisticians, Andy & Rono, revealed their lists of the top 10 offensive and defensive defensemen in the NHL. The creators of the popular NHL player stat cards named former Capital Jonas Siegenthaler as the NHL’s best defensive defenseman of the 2021-22 season.“
Can’t seem to find Muzzin on the list…

Big trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jiannuccilli</b></div><div>For what reason</div></div>
In summation, the assets you’re giving up are worth less than the assets you’re acquiring. It’s not a large gap though, and depending on how you feel about Lysell, you could say it’s even. I’m not high on him.
LD is an area of strength for NJ, with Graves and Siegenthaler being very solid on the back end. Winger is not, with Bratt being the best one we have. So it would be trading from an area of need for an area of strength…doesn’t make sense

Welcome to CF! It’s not a bad proposal and your train of thought is spot on. Ultimately, though, it’s too rich for NJ- not giving up three quality assets that for a rental

spooky spooky devils
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cakecakecake</b></div><div>Do you know anything about Muzzin? Lmao. He's easily better than those two, the only question is health. If he is healthy he is a shutdown, physical defenseman with sneaky good offensive instincts. He hits, he shoots, he clears the front of the net, and he plays smart hockey. You don't have to assume nobody knows anything about the Devils except for you. Those guys are fine players. Decent, nothing wrong with them. But Muzzin is better. He's just older and not quite worth his cap hit to the Leafs given his injuries. If he can stay healthy (not a far fetched idea), he will be solid.</div></div>
Never assumed nobody know the devils except for me, just assumed you two Leaf fans didn’t. Agree to disagree on Muzzins value, he was average to below average last season in everything you stated he’s elite at, while Siegenthaler was regarded as the best defensive defenseman in hockey and Graves was above average in all aspects. I don’t believe he’ll bounce back from injury and become the same guy he was in LA given his age.
