<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>I wouldn’t be so sure that he resigns with the Bruins. Hypothetically, if he resigned with the Bruins, his chances at winning a cup past, at most this season and next depending on what happens this off-season, are going to be quite low, for more than likely the duration of his contract. Whereas he would have a better chance at cup for longer with another contender in their cup window. He is getting the bag regardless, it’s just a matter of where he will get the bag and whether or not he decides to chase a cup.</div></div>
What contenders have 11m to spend on a FA? Acting like the Bruins next year IF (big if) Krejci and Bergy retire won't continue to be a very good team. He knows the system, loves the city, has a ton of close friends as teammates

I dont think they sign Zacha, finalizing his deal unless they know they have the cap space or Pastrnak.

Nobody plays with a 20 man roster and there is also 4.5m in bonus overages to account for.

Not per year, but he’ll definitely get a $9M contract in UFA. He’s a $3M/year player likely getting 3-4 years of term.
Yours is very poor assumption of what clifton will get. Good d men get paid.
Barring drastic changes, this will very likely be his last year in boston as his play has priced himself out of the market.

Boston Bruins signed Pavel Zacha (4 Years / $4,750,000 AAV)
I say good signing.
It’s probably about $0.5m to $1.0m above expected for a 4-year extension. I am guessing Zacha’s versatility probably plays a big factor here since Boston has so much uncertainty with most their forward core looking at UFA next summer. He can play any situation, any position, on any line. And with his (very underrated) wrist shot alone, I would not be surprised to see 80-90 goals produced over life of contract.
Also, from his time in New Jersey, he was always one of the most popular players off the ice. High character, glue-guy. Imagine it’s no different in Boston.
Good for Pavel. He really is a good egg.

Zacha in his first season with Boston is on pace for a career high of 50pts. Not bad when you consider he's having the 2nd worst shooting% of his career and currently is shooting roughly 33% lower than his pervious 3 year average. He's now locked up through his best prime years for under $5 million.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Lmao a 2nd for that godawful contract? What a joke lol, Ottawa wouldn't touch that deal if they were <strong>getting</strong> a 2nd. Sens can't afford to pay someone over 5mil to be a 3rd liner, and even if they could, why would they want to?</div></div>
After Bergy and Marchy he ‘s the best 200ft FW on Boston. He’s one of the league leaders in PK ice time and has become an elite PK. He wins over 50% of his faceoffs. Adds 40-50 points. Drives the play on the line. Strong as hell on the puck.
People just look at the contract and that he doesn’t put up .8 ppg and blow him off. Watch him every night you change your mind.
Coyle NTC says Sens are not an option anyway.

TDL approach
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bnormie46</b></div><div>When jets went for Stastny from the blues back in 2018, all we gave up was a 1st and a 5th at 50% retention of him. I’m valuesing 2018 Stastny and current O’Reilly at the same value. With Barbashev you’re getting a young decent D prospect and another AHL prospect as well.</div></div>
Wow, that's just all wrong. The Blues got a 1st and Erik Foley, who was at the time a nearly NHL ready power forward typically ranked in the 35-45 range among all prospects. Also, Statsny had fallen out of favor to an extent in STL. As for those two prospects you're offering, they're not good. And just from age, calling them "prospects" is a MAJOR stretch. This offer will not get you anywhere with the Blues, sorry.

I just think its gonna be quite tough cap wise. 4ish Million in Bonuses will have to paid next year. Swayman is do for a new contract. Pasta has the ability to go to FA and demand a Marner level contract. Unless both Bergy and Krejci come back you have to replace your 2C/1C with almost no money at all, and Teams wont be nice to then when theyre dumping cap.

Zona declines.
Kane is terrible fit for Boston as evidenced by the the cost and where you placed him combined with his style of play. They need a physical forward that can chip in some offense.

I can't see ARI doing that without a top end prospect while not getting a 2023 1st AND retaining. Just can't see both those deals at the same time.

If the bruins do something like this it has to be for someone who can play or has played center. Especially with Lysell as their top prospect.
