Boston Needs Centres
As good as the moniker "BruinsLindholms" would be I think they have to approach it a different way. With their scarcity of assets they should not make this trade and just ride this year out.
Make it a two year plan and be ready to roll after that. Pick top ten or pay Detroit off with a 1st, see if free agency is fruitful in 24 and 25 and if Lysell, Lohrei, Beecher and Poitras are ready to contribute in 24/25 and 25/26.
Calgary is at a crossroads either at the trade deadline or after the season. It will be fascinating.

That would be a terrible trade for Colorado. They are not giving up the best player in the trade who is a top pairing defenseman AND a first AND a cost controlled previous first round pick they still have high hopes just to acquire Martin Necas.

Hall trade was worth it the second "the ink dried". Allowed the Bruins to fill out their roster and have 6M to sign Swayman and Frederic.

Agreed. Just have to be patient. Lysell may well turn out to be a good player but at pick 21 in 2021 they should have gone with Wyatt Johnston. Missed opportunity, especially with what the Bruins are looking at this year and moving forward, at 1C and 2C.

I will take your word for it and ditch Nieto but would want someone younger than Cogliano to help change the bottom six. In hindsight maybe Danton Heinen or Joel Kiviranta might be better if the money works. Thanks for the input.

Cast aside the longing in your loins, that ship has sailed. Want a 32 year old second line center? Try Ryan O'Reilly. CMac is keeping that first.

After trading a first as part of the deal for him Korpisalo will likely be the immediate future in net for the Kings assuming he holds up his end of the bargain and they can sign him to Georgiev type deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>What contender has 11.25 cap space?</div></div>
You seem to be insinuating that Boston could have signed him for less. Pastrnak is a unique talent who is beloved by teammates and fans alike in Boston. It's a no brainer to sign him and it was going to take a fair deal to do it. To answer your question, Carolina for one. Multiple teams created cap space at the deadline. You don't think teams could create cap space with a full off season to work with?

I think Boston will launch a rebuild within two years at this point, and this signing might well be the tipping point.</div></div>
Well, you were right in a sense. It was a tipping point lol.

You are either missing or ignoring his point. Pastrnak took his discount already when he signed his second contract. Look at Marner/Nylander and their second contracts. Pastrnak was not going to discount a second time nor should he have.

I just think that Toews is so good and such a great complement to Makar that Colorado should resign him. The mega deal for Byram can wait. Bridge him like Boston did McAvoy. If Byram proves his durability and with Manson's deal expiring the Av's can give him his mega deal because he certainly has the raw talent.

If it rises 3M they can afford to resign Toews in my books. He should be the priority. Just keep Newhook and pay him roughly what Stephenson makes in 23-24, be patient with him and keep one of your top cost controlled prospects along with your 2023 first in a loaded draft.

Feeble indeed. Carolina is right there with Boston. They have no need to overreact. They have plenty of runway ahead of them. They should make a shrewd move or barring that just make no move at all if the above is the result they are going to get.

This has been entertaining and a good read. Bruins are 40-8-5. No need to trade 2 valued players, their best prospect and a 2023 1st in a loaded draft for two players who don't make the team appreciably better or arguably even any better at all.
