Jezz, Lindholm will regret this when the Bruins are in a four year rebuild.

I dont think this return is underwhelming given the circumstances but this trade is a win for the bruins if they resign him to a reasonable contract.</div></div>
Worst case scenario Vaak doesn’t pan out and Ducks still get a 1st and two 2nd rounders. Best case scenario Vaak becomes a decent Top 6 defender for the Ducks after a much needed change of scenery. We still have Rakell and Comtois to watch at the deadline and could still get some more returns. Not to mention continuing interest in Debrusk and Kubalik.

Rakell to the Pens would be cool but its gonna be for future assets. Not in the mood to be swapping chairs and letting the pens off easy for their mistakes.</div></div>
Rakell has absolutely declined from his peak. Fans tend to have a hard to grasping when that happens. "How dare you say this guy who was good in 2016 isn't that good anymore!" It's dumb and you should stop. Accusing me of bias for that is hilarious. Have some self-awareness, bud.
Rakell this year:

Pettersson replacing Lindholm in the lineup doesn't mean he's as good as Lindholm. He's a solid middle pairing guy that does well defensively.

They need RW so I don’t think the D comment affects that much. Yes Bear is only 5’11” but he’s ~200lbs. Solid size. He wants guys that can move bodies as well as skate. I also think Bear is better than he’s shown this year.

"Outside of that"? That's the kind of comment that would be justified if he had one good season and several meh campaigns. Comtois played in 55 games last year. "Outside of that," he had played in only 39 games over parts of two seasons. His performance this year has been affected by injury to, and surgery on, his wrist. Your intimation that he might be a flash in the pan is unwarranted, just as the nonsense that Alex Lafreniere or Kaapo Kakko are busts is unwarranted. We'll all just have to wait and see.

I don't think it makes sense for us to trade Max when his value is at his lowest. It will be better for us to ride this season out and see how he does with a fresh start once his wrist injury is fully healed.

Much like the Troy Terry “rumours” last year Comtois isn’t going to be moved. They give him a healthy offseason and season before they make any hasty decisions like that.
We’ve been looking for a player like Max since we traded Bobby Ryan

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuckoJoyde</b></div><div>Its a no simply by idea of trading Benoit for Dermott. Benoit is solid on the 3rd paring and has elevated play of other young players like Mahura. Moreover, I dont think we get a 1st but we literally got Fluery for Hakanpaa last year. I bet we can get a decent deal thats probably better then this. Also the leafs need to go for Lindholm. This isnt the year to settle. They can't lose in the first round again.</div></div>
It's a tough call. Even with the addition of a guy like Lindholm, we're in tough in our division. Facing either TB or FLA in the first and second round (I'm going to assume that the wild card - probably BOS - won't make it through), is going to be an extremely tough task, even with upgrades. Our goaltending has been spotty since Christmas, our second line hasn't been producing, and we have had bad luck with deadline acquisitions the last couple years.
I wanna see this team make a deep run and win a cup, but Dubas has to do his due diligence and address the key needs without upsetting the apple cart.

Deadline Guesses with some nonsense
I don’t know if Bear gets traded with how good he has started to look the past few games. And right now, Canes can’t exactly afford to trade any of their roster dmen, at the very least until DeAngelo gets back. But getting back to Bear’s play, it’s the best he has played for his season. If you were to tell me Bear would get traded maybe 3 weeks ago, I would have believed that, but now I’m having my doubts. I could be wrong though. I mean, just look at my predictions for Toffoli and Ritchie.
I don’t really know if the Canes would be interested in Manson. He is older and more expensive than Bear, and is a UFA rental, which Carolina really has a track record of not wanting to buy rentals at the deadline. If Manson were a more clear cut upgrade over Bear, and while statistically speaking he might, other aspects, particularly money wise, make Bear more appealing. Someone like Comtois would be more appealing to the Canes, but I know Anaheim won’t be shopping him. If there is a rental the Canes might go after, it would probably be Forsberg half retained. At the deadline, the Canes might add, but they also might just stand pat with the roster they currently have.

It doesn't matter if we get to the playoffs we are still in the rebuild. Too many UFAs this year. Losing Lindholm would suck. Losing him for nothing would bring me pain.
TDL Grade C+</div></div>
Because we have every intention of signing him maybe? You don't have to trade away every pending UFA, especially if you plan on re-signing them.

But, our PP was an all-time worse last year and I do think his production this year is valuable regardless of his shortcomings shown through his GF% for example.</div></div>
Last 3 goals against tonight he had a big hand in. Didn’t pick up McCann in front of the net just puck watching and 2 awful pinches in a 2-goal lead that lead to odd man rushes. Mahura didn’t help him with his defending but still.
I just was looking for RHW options and Donskoi and Shattenkirk’s contracts are the same. Plus SEA has one RHD. If they find a taker for any decent price they should move him.

Shattenkirk is awful if you ignore his point total. He’s gotten most of those on the PP too.

I dont think so. Girard is younger and has more term, plus since its just an LD for LD swap theres no real benefit for the Avs positionally either

I agree with you on this. I love Comtois with Z but understand kinda what they’re trying to do
I think Terry is a rock solid 2nd line wing with maybe a McTavish next season. I think they’d be two solid duos.

Mahura - Shattenkirk

Winnipeg had the first five penalties of the game, so Eakins didn't hae the opportunity to put him out there much in the first 30 minutes. He did play a lot on the power play, at the right-wing wall. (Getzlaf played the Ovechkin position on the other side as designated shooter.)
