With the salary going in and out Dallas gets Petry and Devorak for an increased cap hit of 5.95 mil. This also does not fix our problem of only having one right shot dman.
Take out Hakinpa and replace with Hanley then retain a million on Petry. A deal could be had

Picking At The Carcasses of Recent Stanley Cup Champs
Just put Tavares on LTIR … say he needed 5x longer than the normal recovery time for his injury and use his 12m on other players. The NHL is clearly okay with exaggeration of a recovery to manipulate the salary cap. Kucherov took a 6 week recovery and made it a 5 month recovery lol

Armia in it’s indeed a no brainer
Romanov too has to be in. He has the speed and physicality to keep up with the bolts

I don’t think you understand how valuable last change is. The whole reason Montreal got awful matchups was because Tampa had full control over them. Yes MTL can try and make some quick changes to get a matchup, but it’s super hard on the road. It’ll get a lot better in game 3.
Romanov needs to be playing for sure. Gustafsson is the easy option when it comes to taking someone out he hardly plays. Plus petry and Weber can man the power plays.

Naomi Osaka is a role model
Naomi Osaka is true fighter. I feel absolutely awful for her. I'm not the biggest tennis fan, but I'll watch and cheer for her every time. I did watch the 2018 US Open and it was absolutely gut wrenching to see the fans Boo her (AFTER SHE WON) just because they wanted Serena to win. It takes a massive amount of courage to admit your fear to everyone and step away from not just the money, because it's not really about that, but the game she loves. The game she's played for her entire life. And allow everyone on the inside a bit. I hope she comes back stronger than ever!

C for Laine Grit for Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Carnival</b></div><div>Strome seems like the best of the gettable Cs out there... they could probably get CBJ to throw in a later pick in this deal tbh
Rangers might have a desire to exchange skill for a bit of extra weight to throw around? He can flip back and forth 2-3C while Chytil matures.
CBJ gets someone closer to a 1C than Domi, completing a top 'skill' line of Laine-Strome-Nyquist for CBJ to build around with all their picks coming up.</div></div>
I like this. Rangers need to get tougher and have a bunch of good young offensive talent in the pipeline. CLB is starving for offensive creativity and the Rangers save a little bit on CAP.

We both know Roussel is not the experienced leader type.
From Van it'll have to be a warm body yes - but a <em>young one</em> as you suggest above ^ ^ ^. If the Starbucks need to get to the Cap-floor then Van can unload an "anchor-ol-tired-man-contract" (and should most def)...but it'll cost some xtra-pick/prospect wrangling - 100%.

Ah, this team really needs a rebuild. They have some good young players to build around, but they need elite ones at certain areas. Barrett Hayton, Clayton Keller, Conor Garland, Adin Hill, Jakob Chychrun, Victor Soderstrom I would build around.

There's no big difference between Myers and Shea Weber right now, but the latter's contract is way easier to manage. Drouin-Pearson is basically a wash but I prefer Drouin's upside. Beagle for Lehkonen is a big downgrade.

Lehkonen is 2.2 to qualify, Kotkaniemi might be a bit more. I'd pass on Stastny+Werenski and just re-sign Danault ... I like the idea of an established C of course, but I am not sure how gettable Kuz would be, I'm not great at trade analysis though.</div></div>

If Stützle is ready to play C next year, they would have no need to add a 2C this offseason. Stützle is an LW next year, so they probably don't need to target Coleman.
I know Ceci has found a role in Pittsburgh, but that doesn't mean Ottawa should be interested in bringing him back. Zub is <strong>miles</strong> better than him, and having him out of the top 4 is ridiculous.if they add a D this offseason they should look at someone like Zach Bogosian to play on the 3rd pair.

In the end, I really don’t think it matters as SEA likely looks at Jake Allen and sees their #1 goalie for a few years.
I wonder if Bergevin can get SEA to take Drouin in the draft. They have two 2nd rd picks to dangle.

I would protect Fleury before Chiarot if we do go 8/1

so were in a playoff spot and yall want a rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I don't even see how it would be possible to shift into a rebuild at this point?
I feel like people sort of forgot that the Habs were bad last year. Take into account that, without the Covid-Cup play-in, this team was well outside the playoffs. I also get that Habs fans were wildly excited with the additions this offseason, and the team has actually improved significantly. If you take into account that last season you were 24th in the league, and with the additions this year, you've jumped to 16th, it's a pretty significant leap. Maybe you need to continue with a bit of a re-tool in the offseason, but I just don't see how a) It would even be possible to tear it down, given old guy contracts, and b) Why you would want to.
Add a strong Dman, and maybe a little offence up front (Could just be Caufield-who knows!), and this team likely continues to climb a few spots up in the overall standings.
<a href="/users/Sevenleg" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Sevenleg</a>-Thoughts?</div></div>
Pretty good summary man.
However, this team is built around Shea Weber and Carey Price and it's kinda obvious that the ship has sailed. Tyler Toffoli and Josh Anderson are good additions but they are scoring way above expected and who knows if it's sustainable. What could help this team contend is a Shea Weber LTIRed to redirect that money into a top 4 LD. Cole Caufield is living up to the hype so far.

That's a million below Lehkonen's qualifying offer. If he signs that it's quite easily matched.
