There's probably a timeline where the Blues accept Samuelsson in a Buch package. I highly doubt Rosen would be of much interest. Buffalo absolutely has the goods to get Buch. Honestly, they could probably pit together five or six acceptable offers with all the young talent they have at the right positions and/or with the right attributes.
Long story short, we'd need to alter the contents of the package here, but there's a lot of ways to do it. Up to and including a swap of 24 1sts.

Yeah, Vegas is SUPER f'ed this summer. Not guessing it will be Theodore, but a couple good players on that team are gonna get given away cheap. It's unavoidable.

Change Krebs to Wahlberg and the Blues would probably give you Buch and Kessel for this swap. Or instead of Kessel you could have Faulk with like 1.5M in retention. Just sayin'.

Nobody wants a perennial 25-30 goal scorer who's hit 40 goals once and 30 goals five times including the last two seasons for Buffalo?
For a $4.5M cap-hit?

I’m not sure it would be a one for one deal because of how much longer Samuelsson‘s contract is. But it wouldn’t be that hard to balance it.

Yes, but I also think he’s in general just obsessed with firing Clifton into the sun. As if that one move will turn the whole team around.

I get the impression from prior discussion that while that swap might work for the Jackets and Sabres it probably wouldn't work for the NTC/NMC-holding players.

I don't think the Sabres were expecting a 4th line C when they traded Eichel and Krebs was the big piece in the trade supposedly. I think he has more to offer, but I still wish they would have gotten Kaeden Korzack in the Deal instead.

Samuelsson is a good Dman, but he's not worth TK alone, especially with the injury issues.

samuelsson on his own is no where near enough for konecny
top line 70-80 point wingers are not comparable to second pair defense only dmen

You can’t be serious about that. This is the first full season since his draft year that Marco Rossi has even played. And in a decidedly down year for Dylan Cozens, he is still scoring more points than Marco Rossi right now. Add to the fact that he is locked up long-term, and as the cap goes up the amount of money players like Rossi can demand will exceed what Cozens is being paid.

Yeah and Necas has more TOI this season than peterka. ES pts/60 Peterka is at 2.4 and Necas is at 2.2. Necas is on the third best PP team in the league and Peterka is on the 5th worst. Necas is -7 on a team that is +49. Peterka is +8 on a team that is -4 on the year. There’s a good argument Peterka is almost as good at 22 than Necas is at 25. I wouldn’t trade Peterka one for one for Necas and I’m not a Sabres a fan

Peterka already has more even strength production than Necas this year and is younger and more team control on a team that isn’t as good offensively than the canes. I wouldn’t trade him for Necas straight up either let alone adding a top 10 pick. The guy you’re responding to over values Necas like crazy. Necas is a very good player but some canes fans like caniac think he’s a superstar

Peterka has the potential to be better than Necas in a year or two. Trading him away would be the stupidest thing they could do. Especially since Necas will just cost more or walk away in the near future.

I'd consider this for Columbus, Severson's deal already isn't aging well. But...teams don't trade guys one year into an 8 year deal. I think he and Skinner both say no.

A Fun Offseason
I'm intrigued for CBJ. First concern is Skinner and Severson waiving, which Im not confident would happen.
On top of that, CBJ would need to move Laine. He and Skinner are redundant, and we are already flush with Fs.
I'm also not sure there is a role for Krebs with CBJ. Maybe loop in a 3rd team (SJ? AZ?) that would take a bridge-flyer on him.
