I'm intrigued for CBJ. First concern is Skinner and Severson waiving, which Im not confident would happen.

On top of that, CBJ would need to move Laine. He and Skinner are redundant, and we are already flush with Fs.

I'm also not sure there is a role for Krebs with CBJ. Maybe loop in a 3rd team (SJ? AZ?) that would take a bridge-flyer on him.

These moves leave A LOT of questions

1- First, very unlikely we trade Skinner. But even if i just go with it & agree we could/would move him, Severson turns 30 before next season starts…. is he really a good idea for the next 6years at over $6mil per? I’m not saying “No” outright, but it’s questionable at the least & pretty risky

2- Ok, obviously u like Rossi. But would Minny even do this? Probably not. Plus, putting Rossi in a role in a 3rd line role here is probably gonna p!ss him off a bit (I’d think)
Interesting idea if we can make it happen, but idk that we can

3- why are we trading Clifton right after we signed him? (We aren’t) And why are we trading for another Center (he plays mostly wing anyways) who isn’t a good faceoff guy?!?!?!
Idk dude, the Clifton for Steel trade just makes no sense at all to me

Value is fine but the Canucks would just rather hold onto Brock

Skinner says no. Doesn't matter what the rest of the trade is.

Minnesota will want more for Rossi, understandably. Also, Rossi is a bit of gilding the lily for Buffalo, with all those centers already.

If skinner and sevo were convinced to waive, I could see this being a possibility. Buffalo can probably downgrade the pick to a second tbh.

40 goal scorer for a 2nd? That’s a terrible deal

I’m glad somebody else remembered that Skinner has a no movement clause, not just a no trade clause. Good luck sending him anywhere. He can say no to anything you try to do, and he probably would. It makes me laugh when I see an AGM that sends him to a team like San Jose. He is obviously not agreeing to that.

Isn't he from St. Catherines? Like dude chose Buffalo specifically to be as close to his family as possible without being a Leaf. He's not going anywhere.

You want a breakout winger closing in on 40 goals with a near PPG pace, and all you're willing to give up is a conditional 2nd and a 3rd pairing defenceman. Canucks will give you Mikheyev or maybe Garland for that offer. Boeser isn't available to begin with, but certainly not for such an underpay.

I think they tried to drive him out of town with Ralph Krueger. When he was being buried on the fourth line and not doing anything, they asked him if he wanted to be traded and he still said no. Obviously the only way we move him then is by eating half the contract, so we are way better off that that didn’t happen.
