I wonder Would teams do this Helps them for other moves themselves
Find someone else's second for Boqvist. A first is an overpay and Timmins is completely unnecessary to Columbus, who already can't find playing time for RHD.

What would it take to get number 3 or number 4 in the draft
I don't see Columbus entertaining moving down. That would be a PR nightmare with a fanbase who's already furious enough over the handling of the lottery. Jarmo and JD are both on record stating they're taking a center with their first pick, and they won't risk having fewer choices available for that selection by moving down two spots. I can't speak for San Jose so maybe there's a deal there for you, but I don't see Jarmo and JD going for one.

I have a hunch Leo Carlson falls in this draft. He is billed as a center, but he really is a LW.</div></div>
I don't see Carlsson falling. He should go #3. He's the complete package. Jarmo will be all over him like a fat kid on a smartie.

Jeannot is already 25. I think any contract he signs pushes him into UFA. So there is no such thing as a bridge for him. (I could be wrong). Maybe 5 years, 2m a year?</div></div>
He's definitely an upgrade to our B6. The question is whether we have roster space, even after moving Bems out.

Bigger on the Left Side
This is pretty good, and highly probable unless the UFAs want more term then we should offer, like Gudbranson did last offseason, I’d also add at the 34th pick we should look into one of the 3 top goalie prospects in Bjarnason, Hrabal, or Augustine. If Tarasov and Merzlinkins can’t get it done we'll need someone quickly.

playoffs
The Blue Jackets are reportedly starting the bidding for Gavrikov at a 1st-round pick and a 3rd-round pick. They want quality, not quantity. And if they add defensemen, it'll need to be LHD, not RHD, of which they have many prospects.
This offer fails on all three counts. Good day, sir.

Absolutely not a snowball's chance in hell for the Jackets and you should be feeling deep, deep shame for ever even daring to think it was possible.
And Askarov simply isn't for sale; he's the sole remaining plausible goaltender behind Saros at this point.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>Gavrikov?
I cannot see a man putting up 40% corsi share and 34.1% xG share getting anywhere close to a first (or anything at all really), let alone even touching the ice surface for a playoff-bound team.
Again, by all accounts Gavrikov is playing terrible hockey right now and I cannot see how he'd push either Smith or Bahl out of the lineup.</div></div>
Corsi is awful at evaluating individual players on bad teams. Jackets get out shot every game so of course he will have bad numbers. I’m not here to debate whether he is a good defenseman he has already proven that. It’s not really worth discussing cause jarmo wouldn’t trade him for scraps and I don’t think the devils will be trading their first this year unless it’s lottery protected

The Tank Is On
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChucktheFNG</b></div><div>I don't see Jarmo jumping on that one. He would prefer to go after Bo Horvat and Miller needs a hefty extension before he considers moving Marchenko and the only uninjured defenseman on the roster.
Also, Jackets are going to out tank everyone until the last 10 games and then ruin it for themselves by going 9-0-1 as they always do.</div></div>
If Bo w an extension are going to CBJ I’d like Jiricek…but this isn’t NHL 23 lol. Would the offer be the same/similar to the one I’ve made for Miller? If more/less, what’s the difference?

Roope Hintz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChucktheFNG</b></div><div>First thing, thank you. The Jackets are not giving up on him, but it's the classic you have to give something to get something. In order to get a Roope Hintz, you have to give A level prospects and really I think of Sillinger as a step above that A level seeing as he has a full year in the big league and is probably starting this year at 2nd line center starting the year at 19.
I view Sillinger as a credible threat to take the 1C position in Columbus in a year or 2 and him and Kent Johnson can be an interchangeable two headed monster down the middle for years. However, if CBJ ownership or Jarmo decide they want an already developed and proven 1C who is more defensively minded than Laine or Gaudreau like Hintz, Sillinger will need to be the headliner going back. KJ is up there on the trade targets for such a player, but Sillinger has put his game together faster and there is no question that he can play center.</div></div>
Def agree that Hintz would be amazing between Johnny and Laine. Don’t want to give him up though 😛

Obv it isn’t my post, but I don’t think they’re giving up on him. I get the impression it’s a looking for a more established center right now thing. I do think they should just be patient. I don’t think anybody expected Johnny to fall into their laps, but it wouldn’t take much imagination to see Sillinger in that 1C spot for good by mid season. Keeping Hintz makes more sense for Dallas as well

Hintz is a great target, and player. But.......
He is a pending RFA, and given the recent Barzal extension, I see him getting around $9 million a year. Dallas I'd going to in tough to male that happen. Not sure the Jackets are in a better spot long term.
Keep the assets.

I don't think you get a '23 1st unprotected. But yeah, if we were to make this move, Silly would be part of it. Probably also need to add one of CC, Jiricek, or Mateychuk.
That'd be 2 A-prospects, a 1st, and sure, throw in a Bemstrom/ Foudy/ Bean.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div> Sillinger could be close to the production level of Hintz by the end of this year, I think jackets should be patient and just let their guys develop.</div></div>
This is the way I see it. Even with a 1C, this team also needs big growth from the D (it's arguably more important); so, with Hintz, I'm not sure I see CBJ being much better than they are now, at least for the next 1-2 years.
Just be patient. When you have an 18 year old who can have the kind of rookie year Silly had, you have something special. Plus, six more-cost controlled seasons is a big win - Hintz is about to hit UFA.
Not to mention, jury is still out on KJ being a C, let alone becoming a 1C.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlevinKalevra</b></div><div>That’s fair. I just disagree on the mindset of well Barzal got 9+, so Hintz will too. Barzal isn’t the only comp out there. Robert Thomas got 8.15 and I could argue he’s a better player than Barzal</div></div>
There is Stützle as well. Tage Thompson.
I think like an agent when it comes to this stuff.
The thing with Thomas, Thompson and Stützle is their sample sizes are smaller in comparison to Hintz, contracts signed with a thought process of they will repeat those years, or be better (which for Thomas and Stützle I expect..... Thompson is risky).
Hintz has been money for about 3 years now. And keeps getting better. I think that demand in light of all that will be closer to $9 million than some think.
I have been wrong before, but I am usually pretty close to ballpark on these things.

I think like a GM. Him and Pavs don’t produce nearly as much without Robertson. No state tax in Texas. We can trade you but teams that have cap space for you aren’t competitive. Etc. Stars front office is all about doing things the right way and Hintz seems to enjoy playing in Dallas. They’ll negotiate a deal that works for both sides. Which is likely somewhere between Thomas and Barzy
