lol rakell is by far the best player and the more valuable player in the trade. what are you talking about.

I like it. We could use a power forward. Think he'd fit in well on Crosby's line

Agree re Carter.
But I disagree on Joseph. Look how much better 3rd pair is with POJ scratched. I think dubas would take anything for him at this point, but probably teams don’t even want to give up futures for him. Probably have to waive him

POJ is weak, and we have all of last season where we watched him get easily pushed around. He’s 24, he’s not going to get bigger….. maybe he can transition and dominate women’s league

Jagr had like 66 pts at 43 years old. It's all a matter of keeping up with training, fitness, diet, and/ or health. Crosby takes that all seriously.

Crosby, rust, guentzel, letang, karlsson, r.smith, rakell, acciari, and eller are all fast. oconnor, zohorna, t.smith, nylander, and joseph r young and fast too. Malkin doesnt have the acceleration but he still has a good top speed, strength, and good hands to make his way around

August 4
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Coleharborcrosby</b></div><div>Comtois is listed as a lw but actually preferred playing rw. His signature goals in junior and early days were off the rush one timers on the right side. He’s big and skilled and fast and would be a perfect fit on line 1.
Acciari is a sick player but there’s no way he sees top 6 minutes unless the whole team is injured. He is one of the better bottom 6 guys in the league.
I think ideally they would move carter but that’s not likely. Dubas goes wayyyy back with carter. I think it’s important for them to put him in a more scoring type of role with better talent with him. They signed eller to be 3c and I don’t think carter is a good 4c as a 4c needs to be more physical and defensive minded. Put Eller as 3c, carter can take draws sometimes if he needs to, and allow carter to focus on scoring. Rust on this line gives a good offensive/defensive balance.
Nylander is gonna have to have a hell of a camp to crack lineup and maybe he does over poulin. I think it’s him, poulin, o Connor, hinostroza and Johnnson competing for 1 spot. Nieto is definitely going to be playing game 1. Really good player. Look at his college stats with rust on the same team. I expect poulin to take a big step this year now that hopefully whatever was plaguing him mentally is over and done with. He is a big body and once they put him at C he was a beast in the ahl. He probably won’t ever have top 6 ceiling but he can be a great bottom 6 forward. Acciari and Nieto would be a great guys to learn from.
On D, I think you okay nationalities a bit and keep Canadians with Canadians and Swedes with Swedes. Letang and Graves will be the shutdown pair playing a lot with 87s line against other teams top lines. EK and MP get to feast offensively.
Cool to get your input though. We won’t know until camp what they have in mind but this is my thoughts right now. I do think the odds of them getting karlsson are extremely high. Like almost certain. Dubas, sid, letang and the whole fan base has been vocal about it. Dubas wants to make a splash and this should be it.</div></div>
I agree with the odds of a Karlsson trade definitely another move left to do. Excited to see how it all shakes out

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Coleharborcrosby</b></div><div>Wasn’t talking strictly about fighting, Wilson can actually play. Lays huge hits. Can score.
I think he makes it all day. That’s a tough 4th line to play against.</div></div>
Miracle on Ice is the perfect example of why you don’t need the top 23 roster to win it all.
You don’t need 4 scoring lines, get yourself 3 scoring lines and one line that focuses more on defence and shutdowing other nations top lines. Wilson would be perfect for a line like that

Not sure what Trotz is doing in NSH. Petry is much better than the average ACGM commenter believes, but I would understand why Trotz wouldn't want to make that move.

Yep that's the flip side of the situation. Grier pushed the envelope on the Timo deal. AZ clearly blinked on Chychrun as you point out. It's a very fine line and no one wants to blink too soon or too late. It becomes our summer soap opera!

He'll screw the Pens salary cap just like he did with the Leafs, just to make a good 1st impression>?
Wings fans think it's crazy bad, but I suggest the Pens send Petry to Det for Maatta.

I am very confident that that is what he is planning. He did the same thing with the Leafs the past few years. Hence why he makes a ton of depth signing, because he is preparing to lose guys on waivers.

My Guess on Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>Dubas mentioned in his press conference that they are currently not over the cap and actually have cap space to work with. Don't be surprised if he starts the year with a 20 man roster. Him and a lot of other teams did it last year.
So keep Rutta and run a 20 man roster. Maybe sign one more depth guy like ZAR and call it a day.
I think this is ultimately what the team will look like on opening though (with Rutta).</div></div>
Maybe but a 20 man roster exposes a bunch of guys to waivers. They could very well lose: Ruhwedel, Butcher, Nedelijkovik, Nylander, Nieto...
I think that's a bad idea.
