Anyone know Tyler Myers worth or how he has been playing
If you have the cap space you could sign him for just a 2nd or even 3rd in my opinion, with Canucks retaining 50%.

I think spending assets on Myers likely wont go over well, i dont watch Vancover personally but from my understanding his one and only upside is that he is big.

Do the Oilers have the best center core in the NHL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jake4leafs</b></div><div>if nylander was a center again they are a very close if not better . matthews,tavares,nylander,kampf</div></div>
McDavid > Matthews
Draisaitl > Tavares
Nuge < Nylander
McLeod = Kampf
I think the oilers center core is still better, but toronto has the 3C advantage, only thing is their wing depth really suffers if nylander plays 3C whereas if nuge plays 2LW the oilers get better

But they can't today. That's the point. If Nurse gets injured and is out for the season I can promise you Kerfoot won't be on their radar anyhow.

Close enough to take another $3.5M? That makes zero sense. They flat out can't do this. Close doesn't work in a hard cap world.

Holland already stated that they'll be going into the season with a 21 or 22 man roster. And the point of maximizing LTIR is to get as close as you can to the cap limit when you go in.

He is our 3rd line center who also kills penalties. He has no Arb rights.
He is very valuable to us.

He's talking about the Devils McLeod... Hence the "Boqvist is looking like a better option".

Ken Holland signed Kailer Yamamoto to a $1.175M contract and he was more established in the NHL than McLeod by far. So I think this $1.8M number is a complete fabrication.

Honestly I'd rather play Broberg. He's not going to develop sitting in the press box, and you want to give him as much experience as possible before the playoffs.

You'll need another 50% retention by a 3rd party to make the cap work. Then you can re-sign McLeod and keep Samorukov on the roster (Koekkoek likely goes down).
Also, I highly doubt Lavoie makes the cut.

Not fond of it, to be honest. Gagner is just another Derek Ryan without as much defense, Soucy is not a top-4 defender and Kessel hasn't back checked in a decade.

Bouchard and nurse can take over Barrie’s spot on the PP and hakanpaa is better suited to play with some one like broberg in a 3rd pair role 5v5 than Barrie is.
Dallas gets a klingberg replacement for about the same cost as klingberg</div></div>
Saving $800k isn't worth the massive downgrade from Barrie to Hakanpaa IMO. Surely there's a better way to save $800k.

You are right about Nuke but I don’t like that compqrison anyway. Personally I don’t feel like Puljujvari would be an upgrade for the isles. I’d rather see what Lambert can get out of Wally instead of getting Puljujvari who will be more expensive and may not be better.

Leafs Add Via Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>I meant replace his cap hit, not his position. Muzzin only makes a million more than Barrie? He's by far the better defender. The Oilers don't need Barrie when they have Bouchard.
And Muzzin is not a cap dump. He is still very good and he only has two years left on his contract. I want him to stay on the Leafs but Sandin needs playing time and he's part of the future blueline.</div></div>
Again, you haven't replaced anything, you've only added Muzzin's contract to Edmonton's cap. Even if you were to take Barrie back Edmonton still can't afford the difference.
If you want to move $5.5M with nothing coming back, don't go knocking on a contender's door who has no cap space. You are effectively trying to dump cap here and Edmonton isn't in the market. Try Anaheim or Arizona.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>Holland loves Leafs players. Adding one more isn't really that far-fetched. Muzzin will toughen up that blueline. He can replace Barrie and it would be a huge upgrade.</div></div>
Holland has doesn't actually pay for Leafs players, he simply scoops them up after the Leafs have moved on to the next shiny new toy.
Muzzin and Barrie don't play the same position; he can't "replace" Barrie as Barrie hasn't gone anywhere; Edmonton has no extra cap space. They're a contender, they aren't in the business of taking on cap dumps. Try Anaheim or Arizona.

You're taking this team backwards! Armia is a cap dump, that's a terrible trade for Edmonton. And then you put him on the 1st line!! He's an AHLer at this point.
Chiarot isn't worth that contract either. Yamamoto gets more... and what did you do with Jesse Puljujarvi?

Edmonton made it farther this year than Colorado had in 20 years. And they were Colorado's closest competitor. The Avs were the better team, but Edmonton was close. Small improvements will put them on par, especially if Colorado's goaltending takes a step back.
