The only party that wins any part of this is Kerfoot. At least he gets to be with his buddies.

no. Meier is worth more than a cap dump and 2 late round firsts and 2 b-/c+!grade prospects. especially 50% retained

Sharks retain $3 mil on a ppg player and get c level prospects, a cap dump and two late 1sts…not a great return. Not top prospect is a no go.

The usual Leaf post, where Muzzin waives his NTC to a non playoff team, cause someone wants cap.

How do the Oilers take on a 3.5 million dollar contract when they are 7.5 million over the cap???????

They put Klefbom and Smith on IR, that's not the ridiculous part here

I agree it's not the most ridiculous part, however with both on LTIR they're still $1,212,333 over the Cap.

Close enough

Close enough to take another $3.5M? That makes zero sense. They flat out can't do this. Close doesn't work in a hard cap world.

I mean, they can. There is a way to do it with the finagling. All it takes is something like a Nurse injury... don't say never in sports.

But they can't today. That's the point. If Nurse gets injured and is out for the season I can promise you Kerfoot won't be on their radar anyhow.
