Actually apparently he's confirmed in the 2nd line spot, huge shock to me. Hope he's healthy and in game shape and isn't andreas johnsson 2.0

TOR Off-Season - Keeping Muzzin
I think Canucks kindly accept. Idk why you’re selling so low on Kerfoot? Haven’t seen him play but his stats are pretty good and his contract is cheap

how exactly is it close? Dermott is on every TOR ACGM and CHI is one of the teams with the least need for a 3rd pairing LD. A late 2nd and Abruzzese doesn't hold value like a 1st + top prospect.

This isn't going to work. Hawks have been offered a 1st and a decent/good prospect from multiple teams and have turned it down. As reported, it will at least take a 1st and top prospect. Hawks have no use for Dermott, they are loaded with younger or cheaper or better bottom pairing options with 2nd line upside compared to Dermott.

I just don't see what Chicago gains by trading Hagel unless it's an overpayment. I hate when GM's make trades just for the sake of making trades.
Now if the Hawks hire Chiarelli as GM he'll likely trade Hagel to the Leafs for Dzingel. LOL
You'd have to include Robertson or Amirov in my opinion.

I can't see them trading Heinola really -- but Ekholm is the exact kind of defenseman that WPG needs, maybe in FA if he gets that far. I'd hate to see Ekholm in a WPG jersey though lol

Ekholm would hold a lot of interest for Winnipeg, but not enough that the Jets consider moving Heinola for a rental.

I like the idea of bringing in Forsberg. Also not a bad deal for Nashville.
The Blue Line could need an update at the trade deadline.
Bringing back Reimer is interesting as well. But 1.5 M is a big discount, isn’t it? He played well last season.

Canes aren’t interested in Dermott. Need somebody better. They’ll ship Foegele out for picks or prospects likely or package him for an upgrade in top 6.
He also wants top 6 minutes so this isn’t a good fit for him.

Were I the Canes, I’d be more interested in someone like Holl or Liljgren for Foegele.

Pens Trade for Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cor</b></div><div>Leafs would probably want another asset to move their #4 d-man for a back up goalie, but it's not a bad base of a deal tbh.
Leafs may want to give Liljegren that spot to see what he is.</div></div>
He’s a very capable, proven, NHL back-up-1B goalie. Look at his stats. As good as Freddy’s. And DeSmith is on a good contract.
DeSmith 2.62 GAA and .916 SV% for his career
F.Anderson2.65 GAA and .915 SV% for his career.
I actually hope the Pens keep him and just run with Jarry and DeSmith again.
The organization seems set on signing a vet back-up/1B goalie though. I don’t think they are gonna get much better than DeSmith though. Especially for the price.
Raask, Ullmark, Driedger are better. Freddy and J.Bernier...But at what price?? And maybe Mrazek??DeSmith is a better option than every other FA goalie available, other than that, in my opinion.

No. Better off trading Risto for a 3rd than doing that.
No one is touching DeAngelo and that offer is not nearly enough to keep Eichel in the east. Way too easy to outbid. Any deal around a top center prospect wins.

Rangers decline. The uncertainty around Eichel Neck injury drops his trade value.. I'm sorry but thats facts and Eichel is NOT going to fetch you what a healthy Eichel would. You making trades as if Eichel is 100% healthy.

I'm not sold on paying Hyman that much TBH. (He deserves it and will likely get it as a UFA).
I do like the team you have created here though. This is the kind of balance that is required.
That being said, I think it is highly unlikely that the team goes down that road.

TOR Nothing Major Off-Season
As a Pens fan, I would rather J.Holl or Hallander for Casey DeSmith. J.Holl could take over as the Pens 3rd pairing RHD and they could let Ceci walk. And I’m just a Hallander fan.
And trading Casey DeSmith isnt b/c he’s isn’t valuable to the team. He’s proven he belongs. A proven capable NHL backup or 1B goalie. And who knows, the Isles series might have gone differently if DeSmith was healthy and could have came in and gave Jarry a night off or got hot and took over.
And his contract is great. Even if he ends up being the Pens 3rd goalie. But they would need to carry him on the roster all season though, he probably wouldn’t clear waivers.
Pens organization just wants a more veteran back-up/ 1B goalie. I don’t necessary agree though.
