New York Islanders signed Mathew Barzal (8 Years / $9,150,000 AAV)
if you thought that some of these other big contracts were good signings, after 3 year contracts instead of Barzal's 8 years in the league, well, I guess he's getting his.. And apparently with no signing bonuses, which means exposed to escrow, still.

Regardless of the poll and the volume of dollars spent on Knight, I'm looking to try and get ahold of Mr Levi and his contract as cheap as possible.

Ottawa Senators signed Tim Stützle (8 Years / $8,350,000 AAV)
I can't say whether its a good deal from a bad deal.... Dorion thought Stutzle was going to elevate his game... but he's the GM and he's supposed to support his decisions. Can't say if its a good signing or not. All i can say is, I hope Otts has sufficient funds set aside for Mr Debrincat's signing (or else there's an eventual trade deadline date on Dorion's calendar).

(MIN/ANA) - Kulikov for future considerations
Wait a second, Minn had to leave space for Parise and Suter, that's 12.743588 off of 82.5 and they still have 5.738 mill in Cap Space.... Who is Mr Guerin chasing with 5.7 mil in Cap Space?

Buffalo Sabres signed Tage Thompson (7 Years / $7,142,857 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mvp13</b></div><div>This was Adam's first big/long term contract... you think he would have learned from Skinner? Tage was amazing last year in a starring role, but he was an arbitration eligible RFA that has had only one good season. How do you not bridge the guy? You have Krebs, Cozens, Middlestadt, and you have a chance at another high draft pick... will Tage really be a 1C over all of them for 8 years? This is too much risk, especially for the guy's first major contract. You have to bridge this.</div></div>
Skinner's contract belonged to the previous GM ...

Mr Adams is playing the lottery on the 82.5 mil Sal Cap %% ??? .... If Mr Adams is right about Thompson, he just saved the company monies!!! It was signed under the 22-23 Sal Cap limit (82.5) ~~~ Remember Chiarelli and Draisaitl.

So far, I know my math skills are weak, but I've got Bergeron for 2.5 and Krejci for 1.0 equalling 3.5. Bad Pittsburgh Bad. Malkin's contract looks horrible now!! Way to go Boston.

(CGY/FLA) - Tkachuk for Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt
I initially indicated how Calgary won this trade ... and they did. However, instead of a 29 yr old playing with Barkov, now you've got Tkachuk on the top line with Reinhardt on the other side. Um, this might backfire on you Otts for offloading potential White, we'll see later on.

(CBJ/SEA) - Bjorkstrand for 2023 3rd and 4th RD picks
I'm THAT person, who said Columbus won. They won the trade because the player was only a .3 scorer and .32 apg player. They unloaded 5 mil and got 2 draft picks back. The player should never have gotten 5 in the first place.

(MIN/LAK) - Fiala for Faber
Fair deal ... leaning towards LAK unless both Faber and draft pick amount to point a game player at which time, shifts back to Minn, due to the loss of the ELC. Curious though, what does Minnesota see in 2 first round picks approx 19th and 24th.... ????

(OTT/VAN) - 3rd for Hamonic
Vancouver, you've already paid Mr Hamonic from July 1st, 21 to March 19, 22 ..... it only costs Ottawa the portion of this year's contract and next year, all for a 3rd round pick. lol.
Way to go Mr Dorion. BTW, Mr Hamonic cost the Flames a 1st round and 2 round picks lost to NYI - this was when NYI use the 1st round pick to pick up Dobson.

San Jose Sharks signed Tomas Hertl (8 Years / $8,137,500 AAV)
What's the purpose in signing Hertl to an 8 year this early in the signing process, if you were going to lock him up for the full 8? Then offering the Modified NTC for the 5 years, plus the NMC for the entire life of contract without taking $$ off of contract in exchange for those cookies/icing/frosting, you name the metaphor? Mr Hertl, to me, its a bad contract because you got the frosting, icing, cookies, candy toppings, marshmallows, etc on top of approx 35% signing bonus, and the 8. Yuck.

(FLA/NYR) - Vatrano for 4th
NYR gets a part time goal scorer for the rest of the season, some assists. Florida makes room for Marchment (not Marshment), at 800K for the balance of the season, and Toronto lost.

(MTL/CGY) - Toffoli for Heineman, Pitlick, 2022 1st, 2023 5th
The Flames thought they would be in the bottom 10 conditional in the draft, after receiving Toffoli?? Yikes. That tells me Treliving was already thinking the Flames could bottom out, and get a bottom 10.

Ottawa Senators signed Brady Tkachuk (7 Years / $8,205,714 AAV)
Regardless of slightly overpaying contract CH% k, the player takes the 7 yr and gets 3 yrs with NMC. The Senators sign a corner stone of their club and now can start solidifying and building/branding. Why not enter this with a success story... logos, you get the whole idea, "its the beginning of a beautiful friendship". Now work magic.
