Lol. Foligno is probably the most underrated guy in the league. He’d make more on the open market. Highly important player to the wild and a great deal imo.

Vince Dunn has elite advanced statistics that beg to differ.

You have to consider their roles on their respective teams though. Bertuzzi is DET 1LW because, well, you don’t have anyone else. Dunn has had lower usage because of STL’s defensive depth. Dunn is 100% a top-4 D with top-2 potential in a couple years. Bertuzzi is not a 1LW on most other teams in this league. It’s at least good value for both teams, I think it just depends on who DET wants/needs more right now.

Fair value, and works if you're confident Weegar can play top pair minutes on his off side.
For now, I can't see Debrusk getting moved out unless they have plans to bring in another top 6 forward since Marchy and Pasta are missing the start of the season.

IMO you 'd be better off having Nylander over Fiala, and then get rid of some of the ELCs for longer term, cheap contracts.
Like look at how many guys would need huge raises in one year.
Hughes,
Savard
Heiskanen
Marino
Hart
Shesterkin
Svechnikov
Gallagher (Extension kicks in)
Fiala
Coleman
Tkachuk
and andrew copp.
Good luck keeping them all.

This team would win a lot. You'd be in cap hell in a year, but for 2020-2021, you'd probably win the cup.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wpgman</b></div><div>Agreed. I think the Wild would be the hardest to convince. But couple of Guerin's signings are opposite of what you said. Spurgeon signs 7 year deal at $7.5M at age 29 and Talbot signs 3 year at $3.6M at age 33.
Why trade Kunin for Bonino also? Not sure why he did this?</div></div>
They didn't trade Kunin for Bonino. They traded Kunin for a 2nd and 3rd round pick along with a center on an expiring contract they can flip at the deadline.

Kunin is not a big loss. I liked his attitude and effort a lot, but his hockey skills are league-average at best. Khusnutdinov‘s ceiling is a LOT higher! Kunin was just another example of the Wild’s looooong history of playing it safe in the draft.

Barkov In A Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lightman13</b></div><div>Anyone paying attention to gmbg’s moves can see he’s gathering a bunch of spare parts he’ll be able to flip at the trade deadline and have prospects and draft capital galore. That in mind he’ll be able to make a real run at barkov, most likely, this season or next offseason. At that point barkov or anyone will see the wild are primed to be as stacked as the avs currently are, for a significant window. Legit game breakers on 2 lines and a total shut down 3rd line with jee.
Ideally the wild will be primed to be cup contenders for about a 4 year window starting in 22/23. So they’ll want the Core to be between 21 and 26. The d core will still be solid, but we’ll have a top 6 that can keep up with anyone, jee stabilizing a defensively sound 3rd line that can frustrate anyone and a 4th line that is all energy.
If barkov or anyone else see’s that it’ll be a good place to attract talent. Just like Colorado and Vancouver are currently.</div></div>
Indeed. I thought the real tell was the NMC for Brodin, 4 years. But yes, we will have assets and I have to think we compete in 2-3 years. The addition of Brackett is going to add value to each of the picks we have and build that foundation. I don’t think we’d be cup competitive until Rossi enters his prime but I really do like the forward thinking.

Perhaps he was also offered to FLA for 12OA as Friedman suggested but I’m struggling with the fit.
I do think you’re locked into GMBG’s logic about when to trade him though. It’s hard to see MIN as a contender with Dumba in the lineup since we have holes elsewhere to fill. If he can bring in a guy who’s on the top line in 2 years, that’s a win in my book.</div></div>
I believe the price to florida was around boldy not dumba. Boldy was 'Fenton's boy' when he ran the board. So I think they were seeing if Fenton had enough sway to go after boldy, like he did pushing the wild for Fiala

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CowSaysMoo</b></div><div>Also, I would be hesitant to trade Fiala and Kaprizov because the Wild finally found game-breaking talent after never having it since Marian Gaborik. The process of finding one again would have to be done all over again.</div></div>
fiala and KK are untouchable for anyone short of a McDavid or Matthews status.. they are not getting traded under any circumstance unless it is for someone more 'game breaking'. Rossi is also probably lumped into that category at this point in time until the wild see what comes next in his development. I could see khovanov being added to a dumba boldy package, but not rossi. On another note - I think the idea of playing with another russian in KK at the same level, similar age, skill, development etc would appeal to barkov for free agency.
Side note - I think the new deals you have for fiala and KK will be the other way around, but about that on dollars. I expect a small adjustment period to impact KK.

That way if they can get a top-tier player, even if it may not be a 1C. Not sure how interested they would be in the prospect - 1st round pick route. That’s why it’s best to wait to make a trade until at least in-season, most likely next offseason.</div></div>
