Stamkos is staying in Tampa for that.
Do not trade Greenway for that
Monahan is not signing that.

You do realize that Marchessault is 34 already ? You would be lucky to get 2 solid years of this 5 year deal.
Only way Panthers are considering trading Bennett is to clear cap space and he will be probably less likely cap casualty than Ekblad. Jokiharju needs new deal around 3 mil, which Florida cannot offer to him - there are similar/better fits for less money.
And Kulich should not be traded for bottom 6 guy.

Why 2 years on Marchesault ? Sabres need cap space for 2025, quite possible that much, the have to consider buying Skinner out

Sabres over the hump2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Who do you bump out of the top six to make that happen? Skinner, Peterka, Quinn, or Tuch? Most of the offensive woes in that group were due to injuries to Thompson and Quinn. Quinn missed more than half the year, And Thompson kept trying to play through injuries that left him ineffective. Getting more than next to nothing out of the bottom two lines would make a pretty big difference as well. I wouldn’t grossly overpay to do it, but one of those targets can be found in free agency.</div></div>
I am pretty sure Skinner will be on 3rd line. Peterka and healthy Quinn outplayed him. Probably Benson will be Cozens wing going forward. So that's top 6.
But then, I dont know. Bottom 6 needs so serious rework, only Greenway fitting the role. Krebs and Skinner are there, because they are not good enough for top 6.

Sabres over the hump2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BMaz</b></div><div>I assume the Sabres would have to overpay in cash or term to attract players. Also, they NEED to make the playoffs now. Can't be too worried about the future.</div></div>
Paying 40 mil to two bottom 6 grinders is not going to change, the fact that top 6 forward group needs to step up to make playoffs. Sabres are in market to 3C and top 6 wing. Thats all, neither of them are this.

It seems like bad idea to lock Fogele and Dakota to 5 yrs deals. They would be amazing adds to bottom 6, but this could turn ugly really quick

Which team would Marner be a fit for
I dont see Sabres going after him. His 90 pts would awesome to add, but he will too much to trade for and then being extended for 7 years.

I dreamt this happened
Wild are in weird spot. Next season is their last with this big deadcap, but their roster coming out of it, is not so good. They will be middle of the pack as long guys like Kaprizov are there. But that does not mean, he will not be gone once his deal is up.
Adding those 5 pieces from Buffalo, would set them up nicely, given next season they will use to develop young guys.
But this clearly overpayment on Buffalo - one of Kulich/Ostlund would be doable

If Sabres want to target Marner, it would have to be via 2025 UFA.

Farrell, I dont know the guy, but he definately is not so great prospect, wont sniff NHL roster for Sabres, pipeline is full of skill, and small forward is nothing Sabres are looking for.
