Drop the best return for this package
Only one (Chychrun) is truly of interest. Tank, if Goodrow is part of the package, is worth another look. The Rangers need a tertiary hard-hitting defenseman; if a player like Joseph was part the package, that's a smarter move.
Offer:
(NYR) Goodrow, Scanlin (do not overlook this young D-man), Berard, '24 second, '26 first.
(OTT) Chychrun and Joseph (retaining $1M).

NYR could probably live with that package, but would insist on Goodrow being included and might ask for Jacob Perrault being included. The good thing is the Rangers have additional assets to move in terms of prospects.

The path you took to Hertl is one I wouldn't go. I'd cut out the middleman and trade Shesterkin straight to SJ, directly. Doubt you'd get pushback from Grier on a number one goalie looking to rebound his career.
I like the idea of Hertl: I'm more inclined to move Gustafsson and Jones, running the hit to $7.45 against the $8.4 hit of Hertl. Shut down Chytil and call up Robertson, to fill in the blank D spot.

Potential Trade Deadline Targets To Consider
While this exploration is well thought, I don't think anyone other than Duc is on their "list". If there's a player who may have Drury's attention, consider a young player with entry level term like Paul Cotter ($775k for 3 yrs) in Vegas. In terms of defense, a teammate: Nicholas Hague ($2.29M for 2 years), who in my opinion has been underutilized by the Golden Knights.
Both players are huge (Cotter: 6'3", 215 lbs; Hague: 6'6", 230 lbs) and are solid skaters in both zones. Coming here with youthful Stanley Cup experience, can be such an asset.

He's sooner with SJ with his former college coach, David Quinn, than with NYR. Btw, Quinn, Torts and Lavi are from the same school of coaching.

At times, they run equal to Tomasino. The issue is lack of offense in both. Bare in mind that Tomasino was drafted to stay in a system, that though Hynes was coaching, was the brainchild of Laviolette, first promoted by Trotz. It would translate, if he was acquired, for or in spite of Kakko.

It wouldn't be for any of the above. One to consider would be Tomasino in Nashville, where both teams would probably make it an even swap, this season.

A shakeup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>For most NYR fans the thought of trading Igor is sacrilegious. I actually wouldn't be against moving him- but in the right deal. The main reason to trade him would be to get back serious value, while avoiding his next contract. Thing is though, they'd have probably a bigger problem (contract wise) in extending Drais- who goes UFA the same year as Igor. Drais does solve NYR C depth concerns for years to come (assuming they do extend him). But I don't look forward to the 7 or 8 year deal he'll inevitably start at essentially 30 years old. So I'd pass on this deal. If I'm moving Igor I'd want back a C, max 25 yo, with top line upside.</div></div>
You actually put the right reasons for why to move him for this particular one, Draisitil. If Igor was moved [for instance] for Petterson, it's double the price to acquire, plus a contract extension immediately ranging just over Matthews'. In this deal, Draisitil has two years, which in preparation for the two years of cap elevation leaves the window open with Panarin, while the growth of The Kids, Schneider, Cuylle and the eventual ascension of Othmann and Garand will begin to impact the future cap. Drury and company are spared a ballooned cap hit on one player; instead, several will share the pie and a full team can be nurtured.
At the expense of the few, the team grows full components and a winning culture.

A shakeup
I'll gladly answer with another name no one has mentioned: Dylan Garand.
As said here, as long as Benoit Allaire is in the employ of the Rangers, I'll never worry about goaltending. Garand is the quietest 3-1-1 in the organization, who is 21 years old. He has something each of the seven current goalies in the organization (save one, Jon Quick) doesn't have: championship experience. Garand also has an entry-level contract with term left beyond this season; meaning, you get Quickie's and Louie's replacement for very nearly the same amount (something you have as leverage in a trade, not needing a first for giving up Igor, an elite goalie).
On the flip side, why Draisitil? Because <strong>YOU ARE</strong> giving up an elite goalie and (when healthy) a top 10 player in the world, for another.
Why else? Artemi Panarin, who is playing like the franchise left winger he's paid to be, along with Alexis Lafreniere, who is finally coming into his own. This deal grabs a true number one center to pivot between them, who is one of the purest goal scorers in the league and in its history.
Drury and Holland are giving neither chump change; each gives each other both the short-term and long-term fixes, at the exact same ages (27), that permits each team to balance both of the cap and the players needed to go forward.
Edmonton needs a stabilizing force in net, that breaks down the noticable lapses and puts the team in better shape to win. New York needs a high-caliber center that finishes scoring chances, as well as letting Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider transition to the latter levels of their careers.
The whole center position deepens for the Rangers over the next few seasons, while the Oilers settle the goaltending for the present and foreseeable future.
Win-win.

You don't need elite goaltending to win Cups, just above-average goaltending. In fact, trading Igor might benefit the Rangers in the long run, because the players will hopefully realize that they can't just play like **** and expect their world class goaltender to save them every night or drag them to wins. But I'd need at least one first round pick to trade Igor as well.</div></div>

Ah, yes..yet another unrealistic expectation.
Settle down. Wheeler is 37, not 27. His production doesn't play part in his leadership, as part of this team; at $800k, he wasn't brought here to light it up.
I, too, want to see Othmann here in NY, but it's an opportunity to develop further. At the same time, the team isn't hurting. If it was a moment of desperation, I'd agree with you.
But, THIS is proving to be the right path for NYR, including Wheeler.

Doubt it takes that long. Besides, if Igor comes back and is elite, he's a much better trade asset, to the teams that need one at a very reasonable cap hit ($5.67M @ 2 years).

I see where you're going with this. A trade for a goalie is more to the fixing. If it's not Mrazek, Blackwood or someone else, it isn't getting fixed.
Derek Ryan still gets it done as a fourth liner, by the way.

Pitlick stuck out, while Bonino looked old. Wheeler best serves in the bottom six: I think he'll be on the fourth line to allow Othmann the third line wing slot.
Rempe will be fourth line center next season--book it. Gustavsson and Hollowell were a solid pair.

IF it escalates
Honestly, it both teams play this as a "star-for-star" deal, this can go through without the youth. For the noisemakers saying "Panarin won't waive for them", have no clue what attracts. Options to play with McTavish or Carlsson and Terry or Strome, makes a difference to Panarin. Supported by Vatrano, Henrique and Perreault, plus Gibson and Dostal, pushes the Ducks through the defensively-light season. As the young defensemen develop, keeping a healthy, speedy team will maintain momentum towards the next season.
If the Rangers retain $2,642,857, leaving some room to add to Drysdale's potential contract, that'll smooth things on Anaheim's side. The remainder, while it mostly will go to Zegras, sets up the '25 season for positive cap movement. An extra season for the full NYR prospect development, allows the second tier of the NYR build to finish.

2 firsts - everyone will take 2 firsts. However nobody moves their 22year old #1C face of the franchise for late firsts who have like a 20% chance of ever becoming top 6 players at all. We want neither if we’re moving Z. We don’t need the picks to get goalie prospects, we have 3, one ranked top 10 on the cusp of NHL. We don’t need more LD prospects, Fowler is there, and we have another 4 young LD behind him, 2 of which are top 5ish LD prospects.
We don’t need Perreault as a 3C, because we have one in Lunde, and Gaucher behind him. He’s an accessory piece, not a key piece for Zegras.
Talk about Lunde having a cost? He’s $1.8M as 3C. Goodrow is $4M as a 4th liner. Please tell me you didn’t even believe that comment yourself.
Ducks needs are big RD to complement Drysdale on the right side and high skill top line talent. The only player in the deal that fits that is leaving the Ducks in Z.
When you’re trading for someone a team doesn’t want to move, you have to pay something you don’t want to lose to to get him. Quantity does not equal quality. It’d start with Schneider and Laf. Go ahead and make your offer in an ACGM and just wait for the comments, even from NYR fans</div></div>

$3.64 million for a third liner..played as a fourth liner out of roster construct. Let's be real. His resume doesn't need justifying. Trying to minimize his game and value, based on a cap hit is bush league: the guy doesn't take a shift off and is physical, kills penalties and is the hockey definition of a Swiss Army knife.

I've heard this empty story repeatedly. The difference between me and they, is that I actually look at the depth your organization has and measure the honest from the dishonest, when socalled ACGMs come along. The veterans in your core cancel out the need for Lafreniere, and yes, I'm saying that AS A Rangers' fan.
Terry, Killorn and MacTavish lay out a very solid top line. Henrique, Strome and Vatrano make an adept second line. Right now, while your year three (technically) of the rebuild continues, risk and opportunity are yours to work with
No one is suggesting a deal is imminent, not based on a damned thing but tomfoolery on a precocious website.
By the way, when an object NYI fan shows up with a like of your statements regarding a Ranger post, that should tell you exactly the nonsensical windbags you're playing up to.
Carry on.

Lindgren - plays the position the ducks are deepest at in the prospect pool. Worst case Mintyukov/Zellweger are ready to play LD with Anaheim next year. With Fowler and also Lacombe and Hinds in the pipeline he’s a terrible trade chip
Goodrow - he’s your cap to keep. You can offer picks if you want us to take his contract
Lundestrom - in no way shape or form addition by subtraction. He’s our 3C when he comes of LTIR as a 23 year old
Perreault - A fine prospect that doesn’t come close to touching Z’s value.
2 firsts - Ana not trying to rebuild for the next 5 years. Rangers firsts will be 20+, and won’t be NHL impact players for the next 3-5 years, if ever. We’ll take those picks for moving UFAs, not core pieces
A Z deal would look more like Schneider + Laf, and I’m not convinced ducks fans would be pleased with that. You’re asking for a near untouchable player</div></div>
So, I'm going to reply backwards and use your own dregs to help you out.
With two more late firsts, your two-year rebuild nabs forwards and goaltenders. While your stockpile of LD is resounding, all aren't going to make it; though he hasn't done so in the NHL, Lindgren actually plays both sides on D..still quite useful and has a one-year contract; consider that while you may not want to rush those 19 year old D-men.
Giving you two firsts, adding Goodrow is pretty much covered. DO NOT try to sell Zegras, as if he's McDavid and Matthews. I have no issue with adding more to a deal, regarding Goodrow.
By the way, Lundestrom isn't without an impact cap hit; as for your third line center, Perreault, the older, slides there when his brother, the younger, joins. They eventually rise higher once Henrique/Strome/Vatrano reach the lesser of their usefulness.
As for "delusional", do you make it a point to respond to "delusional"? If so, enjoy yourself.

To the empty garbage cans:
Zegras is a native New Yorker. He needs not a picture with a Ranger or any other connection, because wanting to play for the team he grew up rooting for is incentive enough.
Said, putting the Perreault brothers together in either locale (likely Anaheim) plays a role in such a trade. A more opportune player return starts with Ryan Lindgren; pairing with either Drysdale or Fowler creates a settling of the defense (selling point).
Along with the brother Perreault, a veteran to balance the cap might come in handy..Goodrow. Once upon a time, this steady forward was a Shark; let him continue his career as a Duck. His game and presence steadies Anaheim's bottom six, with nearly no impact to the cap; his departure provides the ideal cap dump needed for future movement by the Rangers.
End the move with an addition by subtraction for the Ducks, by moving Isac Lundestrom. The Rangers offer two first round picks within the next three seasons, to close out a sound offer for a player who likely wants to be closer to home.

What is your assurance that they want to? Cap? Seriously, needing players who can play tough minutes and endure through a season, into the playoffs, is exactly why Goodrow was obtained to begin with; not to mention the two Stanley Cup rings.
In the same reasoning Treleving grabbed Coleman, Drury grabbed Goodrow; utilizing them effectively is an entirely different matter. Neither of them has gotten only one goal or spent all season on IR. They each contribute heavily in their minutes, each offering physical contributions in every game situation.
Again, say you don't want Goodrow's cap hit and leave it at that. But saying he has negative value is invalid. And your little cheerleader who keeps putting a like to your statements, needs to grow some and make his own.
