IF it escalates

Created by: Aebexz
Team: 2023-24 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 23, 2023
Published: Sep. 23, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Zegras contact is based on Boldy, Cozens, Caufield, Suzuki, Svechnikov and Stützle and on how they looked like when they signed their deals. 1st digit should be a 7 in a long term deal.

Started with Zegras on the wing, it was a 50/50 was between him and trocheck but went with Zegras since I reckon they probably wants to give Chytil top 6 minutes. Also because I want to see him on the right, think it would suit him

What do you think about the value? Too much or too little? I’m clueless regarding Panarins value tbh

Trades
NYR
  1. Zegras, Trevor [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Zegras is good, but he’s also overrated thanks to how popular he has become in media. Good offense with potential for more but not much more.
ANA
  1. Cuylle, Will
  2. Jones, Zachary
  3. Panarin, Artemi
  4. 2024 1st round pick (NYR)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Only way I can see this happening is IF Panarin fancies the California weather and Anaheims owner accepts paying half of Panarins contract in a potential trade.

Ducks have no need for another LHD
Panarin does not fit the timeline of the Ducks and will regress the time the Ducks contend: plus is being paid 11 mil to do so.

Don’t really see NY having the assets that Anaheim wants outside Othman or Lafrieniere

I'm sure Bread would LOVE to move to a dead last team with more travel time.

Rangers are retaining half on Panarin? I’d think the bigger question would be if Rangers can carry $5.8m in dead cap space.

Honestly, it both teams play this as a "star-for-star" deal, this can go through without the youth. For the noisemakers saying "Panarin won't waive for them", have no clue what attracts. Options to play with McTavish or Carlsson and Terry or Strome, makes a difference to Panarin. Supported by Vatrano, Henrique and Perreault, plus Gibson and Dostal, pushes the Ducks through the defensively-light season. As the young defensemen develop, keeping a healthy, speedy team will maintain momentum towards the next season.

If the Rangers retain $2,642,857, leaving some room to add to Drysdale's potential contract, that'll smooth things on Anaheim's side. The remainder, while it mostly will go to Zegras, sets up the '25 season for positive cap movement. An extra season for the full NYR prospect development, allows the second tier of the NYR build to finish.

There's a 10 year age difference between said stars and for Anaheim that's a huge negative. We don't need yesterday's stars, we need tomorrows.

I think some may take that as NYR retaining half
