There is a team in the East with a ready made opportunity and cap room. Would he sign a 1 year prove it deal with the Bruins for 8.5m?

Just like everything ottawa and Vancouver, those fanbases greatly exagerate how much leafs fans care about them, their players or their team

I don’t get it, they needed that exact player and he was right there and they didn’t need to move a 1st round pick

If this is anywhere close to the ask on those players, every team is better off being blocked by Jarmo.
I get it: there are players that have more inherent value to their own team than they would have in a trade. But a package like this for a guy who would be the 5/6 best forward in Colorado (behind MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Nuke, and probably Lehkonen)? That’s an astoundingly homer take.

Jenner is a good 3rd line center. Not worth anywhere near this return.

I met the Real Darcy Tucker while he was slumming it with our manager as one of her 3-4 boyfriends at the time.
I'd believe he'd say something like this so atleast you're keeping in character lol

well if they have the same talent, armia choose to never use it, thats why boeser is much more valuable.

He said bounce back. What would armia be bouncing back to? His 30 point career high? Boeser actually has had some success in this league.

Where are the better players? A grinder with 3 goals on the season is better than Engvall and Kerfoot how? Both are far more versatile, better defensively and also score more. Jeannot is just a folk hero with one good season. He's the next Matt Martin.

Tougher Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>Looking at Jeannot's pro career to date, his current season seems to be the outlier - not the norm. Even with his downturn in scoring this year, he still clearly provides the physicality the OP wants to acquire. The much more expensive UFAs Kerfoot and Engvall can't/won't do that.
Domi can also win a face-off, which Kerfoot can't. The Leafs might find that useful too.</div></div>
Looking at his entire hockey career, he wasn't ever a scoring until his overage year in the minors. In the AHL he wasn't a scorer until the year he made a jump to the NHL and then scored on a ridiculously high percentage of shots. Now he's showing whats more likely his speed. He's a 4th line grinder. On a good year he'll score 10 goals and add 15 assists. On a great year he'll get 40 points but it'll happen once in his career and he'll be gone by the time he's 29

Hoffman was brought in to be a PP sniper, not a do-nothing.</div></div>
I don't think Kerfoot was brought in as a legit top 6... an established middle 6 more like-- Barrie was the prize on the Kadri trade, Kerfoot was meant to be a 3C replacement realistically, that would work on special teams.
Both Kerfoot and Jarnkrok play to their contract. Both mediocre, but not breaking the bank either.... I suppose that would make them mid in any case.

Unless we are replacing Kerfoot I’d rather keep him. He is still invaluable on the PK. Everyone needs to start paying more attention to how valuable players are on the PK. PowerPlay numbers seem to keep going up in todays NHL.
