Neither player/contract is desirable but Boeser at least has bounce back potential

Maybe Dovarak and a pick is a fair swap

Armia has all the talent in the world , they're actually the same in that category too

Dvorak isn't available, and montreal aren't looking to get rid of him or trade him for a winger

well if they have the same talent, armia choose to never use it, thats why boeser is much more valuable.

He said bounce back. What would armia be bouncing back to? His 30 point career high? Boeser actually has had some success in this league.

That’s just absurd. He’s a bad contract, of course he should be available.

I wouldn't say never, one is a few games armia turns into a beast and gets everyone's hope up then he disappears again

Il can appreciate the connection you made between the 2 right wingers, but both teams would want to trade them away to free capspace. Not good trade partners.

The same category of bad players. He may have all the talent in the world according to you, but he's gonna turn 30 soon and exit his prime so it's useless talent.

In my head i see it as montreal taking more cap but a better player and Vancouver take on a worst player but save a ton of cap hit

sure, like most nhl players, armia have raw talent and we see glimpse every now and then. but by now we know we can never expect armia to put the numbers boeser does.

the thing is vancouver could just retain half on boeser and get a way better package than armia so it makes no sense for them to do it. the idea just doesnt work in this scenario.

If they retain half on him and having to get a replacement for him they don't save cap which is something they're trying to do...

a replacement for an arma equivalent would cost league minimum. they have cap space for that.

Add a 1st and the Canucks consider. Armia is completely useless, Boeser is having a bad year and still playing at a 60 point pace

I cant see Montreal doubling down on a bad contract and spending nearly 19M on RW for 2 rebuilding years. The +3M caphit would be better spent elsewhere.

Armia has a massive advantage over Boeser in how his contract is structured.

If both are bought out next years cap hit (which is the most important thing ) is only 33K for armia. Less than 4 million total over the 4 years. The big year is year 3 which by then the cap goes up.

By comparison Boeser buyout cap hit is 2.2 million next year.

He said the value for Boeser is likely between a 2nd and 3rd. You then have to factor in Armia’s negative value. A 1st is probably the minimum add if you want Boeser while dumping Armia

They save cap sure, but gain nothing but cap space. They could easily just retain 50% of Boeser and actually get a good asset back and have just as much cap saving as with the Armia trade. So basically it makes no sense for Vancouver to do this.

doubt the trade would help both teams in a armia swap
armia is aging and will decline soon
canucks are trying to get younger
and I wouldn't pay too much attention to these articles lol
he prob wouldn't even be moved until the summer if he does
