Xhekaj to the Leafs is not happening, you think the Habs want to face him 4 times a year for the next decade? I don't think so.

Well I would want better Leafs. Leafs have no interest in 4.4m Murphy for the next three full seasons. Montreal isn't trading Xhekaj ...especially that cheap.
I really don't think the Leafs win the Jeannot/Domi for Kerfoot/Engvall exchange.

You could take Jeannot out, and NSH still declines. They don't need a 3rd line rental winger, and SDA isn't worth a 4th to them.

Getting better players that cost less isn't a win?

The Montreal and Nashville trades are pretty bad. Murphy also likely has a lot more value around the league than you seem to think.

Except he isn't better at all. He was just a flash in the pan. Nashville failed to capitalize on that last year.

Looking at Jeannot's pro career to date, his current season seems to be the outlier - not the norm. Even with his downturn in scoring this year, he still clearly provides the physicality the OP wants to acquire. The much more expensive UFAs Kerfoot and Engvall can't/won't do that.

Domi can also win a face-off, which Kerfoot can't. The Leafs might find that useful too.

OMG... That would be like Boston trading Lucic in his prime to Montreal...

Where are the better players? A grinder with 3 goals on the season is better than Engvall and Kerfoot how? Both are far more versatile, better defensively and also score more. Jeannot is just a folk hero with one good season. He's the next Matt Martin.

Murphy is overpaid and Domi just sucks. They won't be getting you much of anything

Looking at his entire hockey career, he wasn't ever a scoring until his overage year in the minors. In the AHL he wasn't a scorer until the year he made a jump to the NHL and then scored on a ridiculously high percentage of shots. Now he's showing whats more likely his speed. He's a 4th line grinder. On a good year he'll score 10 goals and add 15 assists. On a great year he'll get 40 points but it'll happen once in his career and he'll be gone by the time he's 29

Leafs have no cap issues this season. Unless superior player comes in acquired, the cap is meaningless to the Leafs.(this season)

Take away Domi's PP points, (which he won't get Toronto) his production is the same as Kerfoot's.....well except Kerfoot can play defensive hockey.

Xhekaj to the leafs will cost you 10 time his actual value and your current offer means habs give you a discount even if your team wasn't the leafs

I'm not sure about that. In his first two seasons, he was 19.7% on average which is absurd unless you're a Matthews. The norm should be somewhere between that and this year's 4.2%.
