What is Buchnevichs value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gregory_papas</b></div><div>ranger fans would hate me for this but your offer is probably an overpayment. depending how much people value jesse.
a couple of comparable players that were traded: André Burakovsky, who brought back a 2nd and 3rd. buch > burakovsky.
Mike Hoffman was traded for a 2nd, 4th and 5th. hoffman > buch.
1 for 1 trades for buch is probably out of the question because how often do you see two top 6 forward traded 1 for 1. the rangers need a top pairing LD but buch is only bringing that back in a package if the rangers add another quality player or high draft pick.
if the rangers do draft buch, which i think they will before the tdl of 2021. it's going to be to dump his upcoming salary raise. picks and prospects makes the most sense. IMHO
now if it was up to me and i had my way, i'd prefer to package him with one of their defensive prospects or the 1st round pick they get for kreider for a top 6 forward.</div></div>
The way I see it, Puljujarvi is probably worth a mid to high 2nd, and the 2nd next year I added would be mid to late round if all goes according to plan.
So in pure draft capital you’re looking at a pair of mid 2nd rounders for Buch, as well as Khaira who at a million bucks is a good 4th line physical presence for a young team.
I don’t know if they have any interest in moving him, I could see why they would but can understand why they wouldn’t, but if they do he’s a fantastic fit in Edmonton.

Greedy Nurse go to MTL and more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>I’ll give you a small pass, because maybe you’ve never seen Romanov play, or maybe you’re so removed from hockey that you’ve never heard of him. Romanov is the real deal. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a top pairing defenseman in short order. When he, Caufield, Poehling, Kotkaniemi, Primeau, etc. become impact players, is when the Canadiens are ready to be contenders. At that point you have Romanov in your top 4, Chiarot as a solid 2nd pairing defenseman, and Mete as a 2nd pairing D playing on the 3rd pair. And that’s not even including moving someone to make room if Norlinder/Harris have secured a spot. Again, Montreal has far more use for Drouin, who plays wing, and is an extremely valuable part of the team.
While your outsider’s POV is that Nurse would be good for the Canadiens, which of course he would. Any team would want Nurse in a vacuum. But there are other factors, especially the fact that Drouin is more useful.
Also, I have no idea what you mean about losing Petry in the summer, since his contract is up in 2021. And if Montreal does lose Petry, that’s even more incentive not to trade for Nurse, and focus on RHD.</div></div>
I’ve seen Romanov play, I didn’t mention him in my list of players you shouldn’t be counting on, he’s a good player, however pegging him to play top pair right now is a dangerous game. I also think you’re over rating Chairot quite a bit.
You listed 1 D-man a goalie and a bunch of forwards as your “next wave” however D men take longer to develop so counting on Romanov to be ready to go when the forwards are seems foolish. Nurse drastically improves the Canadiens D right now and he will still be in his prime when you say they are ready to compete.
I did make a mistake on Petry though, I thought he expired at the end of this year.

Nurse would probably be our 3rd best defenseman and our best LHD, but that doesn’t mean we need him. Montreal doesn’t need to win immediately, and the future left side of the defense is already full, with Chiarot, Mete, Kulak, potentially Scandella, Romanov and later on Norlinder, Harris, and Struble.
Next time think for even a small time about the team(s) you’re talking about before blurting out something stupid.</div></div>
Nurse is 25 years old and still improving, Chiarot, Mete, Kulak, and Scandella do not and will never compare to him. It’s insane to bank on prospects that nobody outside of Montreal has heard of. Nurse is better than Petry but even if we’re pretending he’s not you’re losing Petry this summer anyway and you don’t have a left D worthy of taping Darnells stick.
Next time, think for even a small time about the player(s) you’re talking about before typing out something stupid.

The smart play for playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>I have been watching the guy since he first played in the WHL. I actually like the Kunitz comparison from <a href="/users/Bluetomorrow83" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Bluetomorrow83</a> in the previous post. He's in that range of someone that could potentially succeed on top minutes though it is doubtful he succeeds there without significant help from his linemates.
But those aren't guys you rush. He really shouldn't play in the NHL this year for any more than the odd game when players are injured.</div></div>
He’s 21 years old. He played 2 years post draft in Vancouver, a full interrupted year and a half in Bakersfield where he excelled.
No offence but I’m going to take the word of the scouts and journalists that are employed to know what they’re talking about when they say he’s a potential top 6 winger over some guy on an Internet forum that saw him play junior 3 years ago.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigOaf69</b></div><div>Bouchard is also 6'3 and is described as a smooth-skating mobile dman</div></div>
Not sure where you saw that description? Skating has been the knock on him since his draft year. He’s a great passer with a cannon of a shot and incredibly sharp hockey mind, but he’s at best average speed likely below, calling him a mobile defensemen is totally inaccurate.
He’s a big boy but he’s not the least bit aggressive either, he uses he’s size to shield pucks and win battles but less for knocking other players over or off pucks.
I love Bouch I don’t want it to sound like I’m discounting him, I just think that realistically Broberg has more raw skill and a higher ceiling, but Bouchard is still a better player and has a higher floor.

I do like the trade though. I'm surprised there aren't more talks around Tierney. The value is about there too: maybe a 2nd instead of a 3rd since he is an RFA.</div></div>
He’s a point per game player in the AHL in his first two years of pro hockey. I’m not saying he’s a lock to play top 6 minutes but you can’t say he’s “capped” at a middle 6 player just because you said so.

I have never claimed Nurse is a top pair D man. He’s a high end 2nd pair guy that can have nights where he looks like the best D man on the ice. He’s trying to get paid for those nights which only come 5-10 times a year as if they’re the norm. What he is most nights is a 5.5-6.25mil anchor of the 2nd pair D

I’m assuming you only saw him at the world juniors when they put him on the shut down pair. It’s tough to make evaluations based on that tournament. (However if you’ve seen more then that I’m sorry for assuming).
What we know is that his a huge dude that was probably the best if not second best skater in that whole draft, he’s a smart player that’s still learning the game. He was the youngest player in the draft and is playing 20 minutes a night in the top Swedish league at 18, which Klefbom didn’t even do.
The offensive game may never develop into a PP qb or Makar kind of scorer but he’s incredibly rounded.
We’re literally basically just waiting for him to get his man strength at this point.

I actually disagree, I think Broberg’s skating ability and size (which can’t be taught) make him a higher ceiling prospect as he’s still raw enough to develop the rest.
You’re right though he is far more likely to bust as he’s so far away, while Bouchard has been playing a pro style game for a long time and playing it well.

Mathews is both overpaid and his agent defiled Dubas on the term so youre either going to lose him or have to make him the highest paid player in hockey history and **** your already ****ed cap situation even more.
Marner is overpaid and will also be heading to free agency two years earlier than he should be for what you paid him.
You lost all creditability when you called the league's leading scorer overpaid lol.
