Best team name so far
Dobson will get bridge not 6 years or that much dollars - like 4 x $4.75
Romanov will get 4 years also and about $2.5ish
Bring in Ryan Murray at 1 x 1.75 to play LD with Mayfield and send Aho down or out and Salo 7th D
Shipping out full value of Bailey contract will need at least 2024 first attached if you want any picks back

Getting Tkachuk
Why would Nino take a pay cut to play for a worse team? Why would a rebuilding NJD take any part of JVR?

Based on the TSN Reported Cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>It didn’t cost a first to dump Andrew Ladd. Do you honestly think it would cost a third to dump Josh Bailey? We get it. You don’t like Josh Bailey. That’s no reason to shoot this team in the foot because of it.</div></div>
Don't dislike Bailey at all actually and yes it didn't cost a first to dump Ladd but it does in today's market as the "cap space" teams have asked for and gotten firsts to absorb whole salaries. I am fine keeping Bailey but these things are for fun and fantasy not seriousness. But you cant keep Bailey and get Tkachuk if you even want him. Preferably I would go all in for Lindholm. Tkachuk has all the cards here. CAL knows he is leaving at latest end of year so they have to take what they can. The unprotected '23 first is key for them in a stellar draft plus a top 6 F as they stated plus a top 9 forward and/or multiple prospects. It's not as far off as you think

I know heartbreak is coming Lou edition
Tkachuk, if he is traded and does not leave as FA, is realistically only going three places; STL where is from, OTT to play with his brother on a truly rising team shockingly and NJD because the GM is his cousin.

It is not awful but nut I would like to see Johnston dealt to say CHI for a 5-6th rd to create more space for deadline deals

What about something a little different
No way NYI does that deal. It's simply not enough based on Barzal age. While VAN is a logical destination along with SEA if NYI opted to move him versus worry about RFA next year the get has to be much more and absolutely include an unprotected 2023 first in that specific draft. Miller is a wonderful responsible 200 ft player but he 29 going on 30 and that is a legit issue with one year until he needs to be paid and NYI had enough 30+ guys with large cap hits.

Kane trade
It is not nearly enough for Kane. And you have them taking on roughly $7.5mm in salary cap space for you by keeping $2.5 and Bailey's full $5. Und3erstadn Kane never hits the Island with cap retention unless the 2023 1st and 2025 1st are in the deal plus Beau, Raaty, and one of Bolduc, Wahlstrom, Bellows. Best possible Kane deal occurs at deadline to reduce what NYI gives up

Ideal
Absolutely cannot run back another year with Martin and Johnston on the roster taking up space. Johnston must get traded for whatever they can get.
You are not getting better pick back in the BAiley deal than the one you send out to a team eating cap space for you even you you retain a portion.

Beauvilier for Kylington
Moving Beau out for D when you added Romanov makes ZERO sense. They have their top 4 and will add say a Ryan Murray for LHD next to Mayfield and Salo start season as 7th D. All this team is score less goals than the current version. Milano is not Beau

JT Miller Trade
Why do people think of Miller as a "scorer". Broke 20 only 4 times in his 10 year career. Can we all please stop with him as the answer. He's a very good 200 ft player and responsible in all zones but he is not what they need.
Do not want Khoudobin at all. I am fine trying to get some of Varly off books but not if that's what is sitting behind Sorokin.

In the current state of the market the teams with space who are taking on full contracts, like ANH or AZ, will not take those deals without a first round pick. You are not going to be able send Bailey's contract out to either one of them if you do not attach the 2024 first rd

Have to attach much more to Bailey deal to get anything back. Cap Space teams are not taking whole contracts as the latest trades show without getting 1's

Nino will get $6 on the market off his recent play
Romanov will get at least $2.25- 2.5
Dobson will get 4 years as bridge to bigger deal they will not go all the way $7.5 right away
Bellows not defensively responsible enough to play 4th line nightly - his days here are done

Nelson better at the dot than Barzy. If either is going to W it is Barzy because he likes to cerate off the wall any way.

New York Islanders
This is a worse team than present. You're not taking your top FO % guy and bumping him to a W to play a 19 year old. Second Nashville is NEVER taking Bailey $$$$. Look at all the teams that are providing space to the teams that need (AZ, ANH etc). You have to dump Bailey to one of them and attach a first and hope to maybe get a 4th or if your lucky a third back. Bellows game is not there. Send him to cpa strapped MIN who needs a young F for bottom six or the roster in general and take back a Goglioski (RD) for a year and try to move Mayfield since some teams like him.
But all these are just for fun so never take the comments personally. It's great to see fans interact and try. There should be anger amongst the comments.

AZ is not taking on Bailey and his full money without getting a first or two seconds. Look at the deals all the cap space teams make. If we want to ship Bailey or others to the ANH, AZ or SEA of the world attach a first to it

You don't move Beau for a third pair guy. Romanov deal secures top 4 and third pair D guy will be a low cost vet like Ryan Murray. Nino will get term and at least $6mm per on the market

NYI would never do that deal. Kerfoot is exactly what that organization does not need. The one area they are deep at is C and he would fulfill their need as a top 6 scorer. As their GM says that is not a sensible "hockey trade" at all.
