No one is giving up anything for Mastrosimone because he really isn't worth it. He left BU for ASU because he wanted more ice time. it's pretty much the same as when Petruzzelli wouldn't sign in Detroit he is currently in Toronto's farm system and he may never play an NHL game. Not getting anything for him isn't a big deal.

Trades
-More of a general comment than on the trade - I like how you worked around the 3 team trade limitation CF has, this flows in a sensible way to me and makes it easy to see the moving parts. Detroit should 100% be weaponizing their cap space this deadline - hell, any team, even contenders, should be open to doing that if they have it available. I think a 3rd is fair value on that retention, regardless of where Kane goes (I think this is fair value for him, fwiw.)
-The Isles have a handful of Erne-types already on the team (Hudson Fasching, Andy Andreoff, & Cole Bardreau) so I don't really see a big need for them to move an asset to acquire another. Wilde is incredibly available if you want to throw a lottery ticket pick to the Island, though - 5th/6th rounder should get it done.
-Feels like a heavy ask for Suter, who's a fine-if-slightly-expensive 3C. Seattle already has good depth at C (Beniers - Wennberg - Gourde - Geekie with McCann, Schwartz, & Donato on the NHL roster to fill in if need be and Shane Wright a phone call away if need be) so I don't see them really needing to give up a premium asset for another depth C.
-Too spicy for Bert, even with the retention. I could see a '23 1st coming back but Knies is the Leafs' #1 prospect at this point - with the contracts they have on the book, his ELC is worth more than its weight in gold. I can't see them mortgaging that much future for 20ish games of a guy who's been dealing with a ton of injury issues this year.
-Pysyk might not even play this year, you're not getting an asset back for him.
-Probably the right value for Hagg, who knows who takes a swing.

Andreasson was one of the best centres in SHL last year and scored 4 times as many points as Kasper did and you have him playing LW behind Hirose.</div></div>
I’m excited to see Pontus at camp. He is several years older than Kasper which explains his success. He is a C/W so he may not translate as a center to the NHL.

PTOs for Subban and Galchenyuk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fedorov91Datsyuk13</b></div></div>
Every shift, every rep, every conversation wasted on those guys are ones that should be spent on our prospects. If someone is being given a chance to kick the door in and TAKE a job, I want it to be the likes of Berggren or Soderblom, or on the defensive side, Johansson, Wallinder, Viro, Sebrango or some guy named Edvinsson.
Ultimately, as a PTO, it is what it is, just seems counterproductive on guys that look wholely cooked.

Larkin and Bertuzzi Extensions Signings
There is one topic that ties in to this that I haven't seen a lot here is buying at the TDL. Being successful with a cap you have to have some good players on ELCs so where do you draw that line? I mean the Wings spent 25 seasons mortgaging their future to win now and we've seen how bad that can be.

Yeah I was going to say at this point $500K is like splitting hairs. I'm ok either way now I hope they sign them sooner rather than later for our sanity as Wings fans on CapFriendly.

Cap Dumps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cooliny</b></div><div>That's an interesting deal from Vancouver's perspective, I think they definitely consider that</div></div>
Mo they don’t. They are giving up the two best players in that deal. Hoglander is 21 and already has 2 years of playing in our top 9 and top 6. Myers is also our best RHD. We don’t need the cap space that badly that we lose this much value

Canucks aren’t going to be dumping Myers for the sake of dumping him. We are not attacking any sweeteners to him. He has value to us

There's only Barton and Newpower on RD as injury backups. Wilde is waiver exempt another season and could be very useful if Tuomisto doesn't want to cut his college career short.
I'd accept the offer, it's a good deal.

The Real
i posted this trade not too long ago. i agree its a solid move. i am slightly concerned that pouliot is a legitment bust not just a solid player whose struggling (see sheehan last season) but also i think that if kronwall is able to go on ltir, which seems plausible with him missing the first two days of training camp, is do we really need to trade away sheahan for cheap since we now don't need the cap space because of kronners injury?
