Coyotes 2018
<em>psst</em> Dave Bolland's pretty much retired due to injuries and has been for the past 2 years.

AZ and WPG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FireTippett</b></div><div>Yes, AZ is confident that they can re-sign OEL. See the end of year press conference and OEL's comments. It's pretty much a given. Probably an 8 X $8M or there about.
The problem with any offer for OEL is that the offering team wants to acquire him on the cheap and claim that he only has 1 year left. That's false. He can and will sign an 8 year extension this summer. If you're trading for him, you're trading for 9 years of him and the Yotes would offer to eat 50% of 18-19. That's worth a ton.
There's a small chance OEL won't re-sign in AZ and will get traded. But in that scenario, whoever gets him will pay a pile in trade assets and cash. Most team's fans just can't stomach the cost, which is understandable. But saying he only has 1 year left is nonsense.</div></div>
I wouldn’t call the above trade offer “on the cheap”, but I definitely see your point.

What cha all think of this craziness
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FireTippett</b></div><div>Interesting take, and only a few million over the Yotes internal budget.
Problem is this roster is based on a very weak set of premises. By all accounts, it sounds like Raanta, OEL, and Richardson are set to re-sign. Hjalmarsson will probably not be re-signed this off-season, but - depending on his play and the outcome of free agency and the draft - I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-sign at some point during next season either. He was excellent when healthy and their record with him vs without him attests to that fact.
OEL 8 X $8M with full NMC
Raanta 4 X $4.25M
Richardson 1 X $1.75M
Domi is harder to peg, because he struggled to start the year, had an awful shooting percent, and only scored like 3 goals all year long (the other 5 were EN). I'm guessing either a short "show me" bridge, or a longer 3 or 4 X $3.25M.
If they "need to solidify their right wing", I think Svechnikov through the draft, Merkley through the prospect pool, or someone like Vanek or Bozak through free agency is the way it will be addressed.</div></div>
Appreciate the feedback.
Moving OEL was something I was struggling with. But having done it, I think the team is better balanced up front. Issue being of course, is can I convince Carlsson to sign? Kinda the whole crux of it. Failure to do so, the deal is an unmitigated disaster.

Callahan - Bobby Ryan - Bolland
If anyone can pull this off, that's Chayka. I really like this for ARI. Original proposal.

Callahan - Bobby Ryan - Bolland
If Bobby Ryan actually improves Arizona's right wing depth, and I'm not saying he does, then that's a masterful series of moves to give Ottawa a slightly cheaper, slightly more tradeable contract back for him, and get Tampa to overpay for some cap relief along the way.
Ryan has had some great years, offensively, and maybe a return to being the main guy for his team will help? Maybe warm weather will help? I am not saying it's worth a shot because $29M is more than I can imagine earning in my lifetime, and that contract is just stupid. But the salary cap has a floor, and if this helps Arizona develop a boatload of rookies and ELCs at once, while spinning an injured/retired contract into a pick, two prospects, and a toxic asset they have some hope of reviving? That's pretty cool. If they can get Ryan to score twenty goals by the trade deadline (and that wouldn't be too hard) they can trade him for a decent young player. If they get him to 25, I think they keep him and celebrate.
Five stars for saving Ottawa out of self interest. It's risky and expensive, but it just.... might.... I can't say it. Good on you for coming up with this.

Islanders 2018/19 with cap expansion and OEL trade
Tavares will want more
Bozak will want more
That won't get u OEL, a 1st and a 2nd is good but toews and ho sang aren't good enough. Think of it like this, hamonic got a 1st and 2 2nds. OEL is much better than hamonic

Arizona trade
I think a deal around Duclair for Strome makes sense. However, I doubt Arizona would also give up Crouse.

Realistic Moves
The only problem I find with these realistic moves is that they are not realistic.
Duclair is worth more than fourth-liner and low 3rd round pick. He is worth low first rounder or high 2nd rounder.
Cole isn't player that TOR needs. TOR is looking for a RHD, and that trade would make Toronto worse than it is now.
Blues got rid of Reaves because of some reason. Why would they take him back?

If Samsonov is coming, maybe more a Gruber and Orpik with some tweaks could be deal. Coyotes keep Domi. 5m for Nash seems wasteful.

Did Strome just get sent back to the minors?!?!?!
If you're not going to play top 6 minutes as a 20 year old, why not spend the time in the AHL, playing meaningful minutes and developing your 2 way game? I don't get why everyone is so upset about a 20 year old playing in the minors? Look at teams that actually develop good hockey players-They aren't rushing guys up to sit on the bench of last place teams. I wouldn't expect that Merkley will be up for long either TBH.

BUF-ARI Roster Overturn
Wouldn't the Coyotes be 1000X better off, not making the trade, keeping their own youngest assets, and spending those gross salaries that ROR and Okposo make on some UFAs?
