KOTKANIEMI is in his 3rd full NHL season and is on pace for 36 PTS at nearly 5MM AAV for another 6 seasons. I'm not sure it's worth the gamble for a 3rd line center. His age is the only real upside here.</div></div>
Kuzmenko is playing on the Canucks third line and getting 2nd unit PP time. With the flames his ice time would increase significantly.
Kotkaneimi still has some potential as a power center who can impact the game on both ends of the ice. I don't think he will ever turn into a 1st line centre but in a few years time he may be a very solid second line centre. He could very well be a long term cog for the Flames going forward.

No where., especially Kotkaneimi.
Kuzmenko could be moved further down the road if ever he doesn't work out but the goal is for him to turn back into the player he was a year ago.

That's really really bad for the Flames.
They have arguably the best goalie prospect in the league and Pelletier is one of their top.prospects. Primeau does little to nothing for the flames.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CanMerc</b></div><div>Won’t happen… that’s a greedy ask</div></div>
Not overly greedy, he's the best centre on the market at the moment.
I would aim for Lambert and a conditional first that turns into a 2nd if ever the Jets don't make it to the western conference finals.
No additional bells and whistles, simple two for one trade with retention.

Not really interested in Lucius.. too many injuries and I expect the flames to think the same for the most part.
Pretty much Lambert or bust(my opinion and wants).

paying for a deep run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Does nothing for the Flames except block prospects</div></div>
Not true.
We need snipers and our system is lacking right handed wingers.
Coronato is basically the only viable RH RW prospect that we have, bringing in Kuzmenko would not only help the PP but full a huge organizational need and not block anybody.
We can't have a team built solely on playmakers.

Dream Deadline
The lack of top 4 defenceman on the market it likely to up Tanev's price but quite a bit.
I expect him to bring back a first and there are many teams that are willing to pay that price. Therefore, I can't see this offer cutting it unfortunately.

2C Options
Mittelstadt is a winger at this point and has played significantly better when deployed on the wing.
Lindholm seems like a great fit for Winnipeg but is going to cost them key assets.

Finally out of the rebuild
Doesn't make sense for Buffalo.
With their current centre core Lindholm would be a somewhat waste of assets where they could improve their real need (solid top 4 defenseman).
Markstrom would be solid but his deal might be one year too long for Buffalo and block one of their younger goalies.

Rebuild Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CM_Insane</b></div><div>I don't agree with that thought process Lindholm is a better face-off taker then Petey. Lotto line shouldn't be permanent as becomes easier to check against us. Bringing Petey back and having him-Lindholm- Mikheyev would be better than Kuzmenko imo. This would also give us cap space to make another deal (ie. Bring a speed forechecker to play on Miller's LW)
Though I do think we'd have to give a prospect (like Raty) to get the deal done as horvat deal as a comparable is fair. If we deal a 1st should only be this year's and not next years cause team could get riddled with injuries again and then we are giving a good pick away.</div></div>
Will add a prospect to the deal.
The deal on my end makes sense for both teams as Vancouver currently has the need for a solid two way centre. Lindholm is a 1B/2A centre and would fit with Vancouver like a glove and alleviate a huge amount of pressure off Petey. He's great defensively, great at face-offs and can play any style of game.
Calgary needs RH shooters on the wing, almost all of our wingers are playmakers and it's been effecting the powerplay. Obviously losing Lindholm sucks but at the end of the day we need to trade him.
Seems like a win/win for both teams.

Flames could get a lot more than this if they dealt the players separately.
Lucius also isn't really of interest either due to injury history, would much rather Lambert.

Take out the retention on Gally.
Can you imagine if the Flames traded Huberdeau only for him to return to form.... His style just doesn't mesh with what the Flames play, he needs a more easy west style of game and Montreal would provide that.
