Eichel and Arvidsson offseason
The offer is a little lite IMO. (Not as far off as some of these Sabres fans are making it out to be though).
It is pretty close to what they will eventually get when he demands a trade. (Inevitably).

BUF can’t draft and they don’t want to wait to potentially compete.
They would want something more like Gaudreau, Monahan, Anderson/Kylington + 2nd.. Monahan is truly a great 2C that would work behind cozens. We’re have been through a ton of these that are high in picks and prospects and BUF fans want no part in it

Instead of Trading Him for Pennies on the Dollar
100% Agree, coaching/management have done a very poor job with Bennett. I can't fault him for wanting out.
His playoff performance speaks volumes. Even when he's the best player on the team, they still didn't let him center a couple good line mates... He was still on the 3rd line with Lucic...
Give this guy some line mates, some motivation, and he'll be a stud.

I like it, but Flames may have to add a bit. Maybe add Bennett? I just think CBJ may want a bit more for Dubois.

Perfect Lines for this Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Bread eater only had 17 last year. You can’t say he only scores 7. If so then why have a leach playing that high in the lineup?
Leivo is a sniper, he works hard and does all the little things well too.
I could see him on a third line with dube and Bennet in reality. But if I were making lines I would try to get him out with Johnny once in a while.</div></div>
I mean I’m projecting Mangiapane in the range of 25 goals if he plays 2nd line minutes for a full season so I was more referring to the fact that he’s probably down to 15-20 if he gets bumped to line 3, I obviously don’t think he’ll get 7. I know Leivo is a sniper, but he’s not an elite level sniper. Sure an elite playmaker like Johnny could boost his numbers, but Johnny could do that for anyone. Leivo should be on the 3rd line with a 3rd line level playmaker tbh. I’d like to see a Dube-Bennett-Leivo line, I think that’d be fun, but if they keep the Lucic-Bennett-Dube line together he probably starts on the 4th with Nordstrom and Ryan, I just can’t see him bumping a high end guy like Lindholm or a guy the organization is super high on in Mangiapane out of the top 6.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flames22</b></div><div>I gotta disagree with you on Bennett, Alfie. I don't think we can honestly say that Bennett doesn't belong in the top 6 because the truth is, we've never actually seen him play there for a fair period of time. Sure, there's an argument that "he hasn't been good in a bottom-6 role so why should we let him into the top 6." But a) Bennett was not drafted to play in the bottom six; and b) he hasn't had a lot to work with while he's been there. The fact that he's been bounced around from 4th line LW to 3rd line LW to 4th line RW, and paired with guys like Jankowski, Brouwer, Lazar, etc. not only has hurt his numbers, but it has hurt his development. There's a reason that Bennett was so dominant in these last playoffs, and it wasn't just because he typically plays well during the second season: It was because he finally played centre and had some decent linemates to work with.
Now, I'm not convinced that the Lucic-Bennett-Dube line can play as well as they did for 82 games, especially in a compressed season. But Ward needs to carry the Bennett-is-a-skilled-centre mentality into the regular season. Let him run loose with Tkachuk and Lindholdm (as suggested here), or at least with Dube. Heck, even put him with Gaudreau! (although I like the lines suggested here better). It's about time that this organization put Bennett in a position to succeed, and in my estimation, failing to do so not only unfair, but it's unwise. Indeed, we will all regret it next year if/when he is a member of the Kraken.</div></div>
I think the problem here isn’t whether or not Bennett would succeed in the top 6 cuz I think he would do decent there (if he learns how to shoot the puck at the god damn net once in a while anyway...) but the problem is, who do you bump out? Mangiapane has shown more potential than Bennett and Backlund is a reliable 2-way presence that you know will get you 20 goals and 45 points. Bennett’s gotta show a little more than 12 points in 52 games (20 in 62 if you’re generous and count playoffs) to justify bumping one of those guys and I just haven’t seen it yet. Maybe try him there for a bit but like, I just think he’s been passed on the depth chart here and needs to find a way to contribute in an energy role. I don’t think it’s unfair to him when others have earned their way higher in the lineup and he has not. Maybe getting Dube and/or Leivo as linemates will boost his offensive production to a level where he could challenge Backlund for 2C but ultimately it’s on him to find a way to produce and force himself to get a chance, it’s not going to be gifted to him.

Obviously the value is insanely good for NYI, and if we're looking to move Barzal I would do this. But we're not looking to move Barzal, so that sort of ends this.
But like I said, awesome value and something I'd strongly consider.

Hall to Calgary so Gaudreau and Hanifin to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flames22</b></div><div>To be clear, I do not want to trade Gaudreau. I think he's a good player and we are better off building around him. But at the same time, it's unfair to say that this proposal is "selling him off for nothing." Carlo is a very solid top 4 RD who is still only 23 years old. He will be solid for years to come. Kase is also young and has potential to shine in the right situation. Not to mention the 1st that's coming back, as well as the fact that this lets us sign Hall in the first place.
So yeah, I'm with you, I think it's unfortunate that so many Flames fans/journalists are willing to trade Gaudreau for bargain bin prices. But let's not overlook the return here either.</div></div>
Yeah my bad I should’ve clarified that this isn’t selling him off for nothing. I think you’re still underselling on him here but I’ve seen way worse. This is coming from a leafs fan btw

Everyone is saying itll be Hall but I think its Pietrangelo
Hall said his motivation was not so much money, but to play for a contending team.
Not sure what Pietrangelo's motivation is, he has made the money and he has a cup...I think it is just to find a good fit/team that also can win it all but has good chemistry.
CBJ has the chemistry now.
I struggle with seeing CBJ overpay or over term Pietrangelo if that is who they are after...
I think if they could get him at no more than $8M and 5 years (he'll be 31 when the season starts in January) they would probably do it.
Same with Hall (only 7 year term is fine given his age and durability).

Hanifin to Colorado
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flames22</b></div><div>There seems to be pretty good value here, Calgary definitely thinks about it. The only thing is that from the Flames' perspective, Hanifin is (or at least should be) here to stay for a long time. When paired with Andersson in the playoffs, the two of them did pretty well. He's got a team-friendly deal and is still super young. Calgary's not rebuilding, so Timmins would have to be pretty close to NHL-ready. Is he? If so, Calgary might think about it.</div></div>
Timmins is very much NHL ready. He played a couple of games in the playoffs against Dallas for example.

Weren’t supposed to be in the playoffs???
It’s not like we had to win a series just to make the playoffs.
And I don’t think anyone is serious about trading Seguin.
I do agree with the few tweaks comments, though a minor shake-up could happen.

Your trading hanifin and a 3rd for kyrou</div></div>
Contrary to popular belief, the rights to Pietrangelo aren't enough to give him the 8th year he has to be signed with st Louis and then moved to get the 8th year which is work for st Louis so why would they only do it for a draft pick? They won't, they will take the best offer on the table and it will definitely be more than a 3rd or 4th round pick

That seems like exactly what they're looking for</div></div>
Most likely because Carolina is set on their top line. With this trade they’d essentially have 4 first liners a second/third line center and a bunch of third liners on their roster. Personally I’d rather them go for a 50 point player with a much lower price. Strength in depth etc etc
