2019-2020 Habs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>Taking on James Reimer's $3.4M for two years to move up two spots in the draft is insanity. FLA would either need to add another player or its #2 pick at least. A few days ago, I suggested Reimer for the option to swap first-round picks in 2019 and 2020.
EDIT: Make the Callahan deal first and then trade the TBL #1 for the FLA #1. That might make the most sense.</div></div>
You are right. This does look better.

Helping Cap Troubled Teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jay27</b></div><div>So essentially you're saying Klefbom is worth a 2nd round draft pick. Give your head a shake man.</div></div>
They are both Cap moves. Getting Eakin for a 3rd allows Vegas sheds the cap without having to take any back. Its a reduced price tag due to the big problem that Vegas I would think absolutely shed Cap and in the final year of his deal with no extension. The EDM trade allows them to get cap savings and a better pick while adding a 20 goal scorer. So in the end its cap relief which both teams desperately need while addressing secondary scoring for EDM while also giving up a LHD which they have multiples of. The value may be off but, I do not think they are that far off.

There were many ideas thrown out there to swap Alzner's contract with Ladd's contract. I think that would be the best way to go for both teams.

TDL are fun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Montreal isn't doing any of these trades.
1. Lehkonen is worth alot more than 10-15 spots in the draft. He plays middle 6 on 5v5 and all situations on specialty teams.
2. Philidelphia is not going to trade Ghost unless a team seriously overpays for it, this isn't an over payment and Montreal shouldn't be trading futures for talent to win now.
3. This trade doesn't make much sense to me from Montreal, Lucic is Garbage. we are paying him 4m for the next 5 years and you expect that all we get out of it is Puljijarvi, and we are giving them Juulsen?</div></div>
1. Lehkonen's lack of finish worries me and trading him now when his value is decent may turn out to be the better long term move.
2. Its a hard trade to create that works for both sides but, I tried.
3. Lucic to me is a better version than Ryan Reeves at a much higher cost(I get that) but, I think Lucic can provide more offense. I love what Reeves provides for Vegas. Also I am willing to take a risk on Pul to move up in the draft. Pul to play with Koktaniemi intrigues me.

Patches for D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>Montreal has enough NHL roster players and their bad enough to lose a decent enough amount for the lottery this year. I’d say trade Pacioretty for picks and prospects who are a few years out and let the ship sail this year.</div></div>
I'm just worried about the amount of defensive protects in their system. When the centers become NHL ready will thry have enough on the back end to be a playoff team or possibly contend for the Stanley cup.

Could Two Old Rivals Make a Deal?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>Kadri is the 2nd best asset in that trade offer, the third best asset is the 1st round pick, leaving Nylander as the best asset in that trade. Centres are way more valuable than wingers (Kadri > Patches) and Nylander would immediately become Montreal's best player. Toronto isn't giving up the best 3rd line centre in hockey for an okay winger, a decent defenceman and a first.</div></div>
Phil Danault is also part of the deal. The way I see it is that they end up getting #1 LW #1 RD #3 center 1st and 2nd with no conditions for their 2 better centers. I also don't agree that Kadri > Patches.

Well if they hoped to sign stastny then this move helps Winnipeg resign him. Unless statsny told the habs he wasn't going to sign with them then MB would rather he stay in Winnipeg.

Getting the much needed Cs, RW and LHD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenGoater99</b></div><div>So a top 4 LHD, top 6 RW for a 1-year rental, a 4th liner, and a cap dump?</div></div>
No matter how you choose to to describe and devalue MTL players... LA gets more goals(desperately needed) and an extra body on the blue line and MTL gets slightly younger and addressing a need on their blue line. Lets not forget that getting Patches at 1.5M retained salary is a huge bargain even for 1 year. Also Byron over the last two seasons outscored Tofolli.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>Don't think either trade is particularly fair for the team not named MTL. That Tampa package could land you Brock Nelson though.</div></div>
In the description I mention that this would only happen if Tavares signs with TBAY. Having no cap space they would want picks in return. It should be only the 2 2nd rounders but, I added De La Rose as he is a cheap competent depth player who played his role very well when he was playing for Sweeden in the World Championship.

Habsolutely! Habs 2018-2019
They are very deep at Center and they would likely draft scoring winger like Zadina with 3OA who can play in the NHL right away who, I would think, would be on their top line .

1 Trade + 2 Signings + 3OA = Profit?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThomDorke</b></div><div>Convince me why Vegas is trading Schmidt because I don't see that. He had a good season with Washington in a lesser role and really excelled w/ Vegas given more minutes & better comp.</div></div>
I think this is a fair hockey deal. Vegas is going to lose some scoring which Pacioretty can provide at a bargain deal plus salary retention. Both have one year left and vegas is about to pay a bunch of rfas good money and go for big Ufas this summer. Schmidt was playing on the wrong side which I see Vegas getting more RD help which will make him go back to the left side which is an area of strength for Vegas.
