Diagnosis and management of concussions is all clinical symptoms with reassessments at intervals of 2 weeks. You're right they can't see into the future and he was cleared to play. But for him to sit out without a scheduled surgery or anything he's needs to want to. It was laughable how little he played last season when every fan could've predicted it playing out that way (except dubas which is why I think he's dumb). I don't think its circumvention cause his body's breaking down he can't play hockey anymore and the team knows it and he knows it. He's not gonna play again imo

Is Brodie On The Way Out and Does Vancouver Make Sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>The issue in moving Brodie at this point is that I really think it exposes the right side of the defense. Klingberg is a defensive liability, and as much as I like Timmins, his sample size isn't large enough to say I am comfy with moving on from Brodie now. And we know the blueline depth organizationally is terrible.
I know people hate what I suggested in an earlier ACGM - that the Leafs run a 19 man roster to accure cap space early in the season, but I still think that will play out. With Holmberg starts the season with the Marlies and Knies is sent down on off days to accure space. Only way I see this working honestly.
Don't get me wrong, I hate the idea. But I am not sure there is a clear path out without setting the blueline back.</div></div>
Can't accrue cap space we are in LTIR next season with Muzzin's contract. It's all cash in cash out unless we move him. It kinda makes sense why tampa's trade deadline moves look insane cause they've been riding Seabrook's contract for the past couple years.

I think he can do it too but he'd have to be paid a lot to stay, matthews is extremely smart and apparently asking for short term (like 3 years) deals to continue increasing his cap hit as the cap moves up. If marner does the same we're never going to have more cap to play with. I think the best we could've done was last season with o'reilly, accari, schenn, etc.

lol i dont know their bios but i watch the games. I can see he isn't above average defensively. I see that him and tavares get offensive zone starts cause they cant be trusted in their own end. Its not terrible theres a bunch of other players like that on good teams but the argument that he's more valuable than a centre is off

Wilson and bring up young guys
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Why are we giving him 10 million? That's not how negotiations work. If he asked for 10, (absolutely no proof of that) there will be counter offers back and forth. TO started likely with the Meier deal, so lets just assume they'll meet in the middle, which is 9.6 or so. My guess he'll get 9.5 *8 and that's fine considering the cup is going up and if Willy can eliminate the moments where he disappears for a game or two, he'll push for 50 goals and 90+ points. Horvat and PLD do not impact the game in such a way. So you are low balling yourself.</div></div>
True we're going off of speculation but insiders are usually right especially if theres more than one reporting the same thing. He has all the leverage thats why there was such an uproar with the nylanders, matthews and marners contracts cause they weren't either bridged to stay rfas or they didn't maximize fa time with 8 years. He's basically entering his while prime entering free agency so gms are going to pay what they believe he will be worth rather than for what he is. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>His defensive numbers arent the best but when hes motivated man is he scary. And thats what frustrates Keefe as that guy shows it one game and then poof another leading to some benchings. Now teams looking for more scoring will be calling as often teams like a healthy mix of everything and for a team like SEA or CAR he would be an excellent addition
As for value higher than a Center even with 40 goals is pushing lul.
Thats why I say PLD or Horvat packages are what's realistic rn as if we ask for more teams will go no and then we could potentially lose him for nothing like CGY with Gaudreau</div></div>
I agree he's got a motivation issue which would be a red flag for me as a gm but when he's on he's definitely on

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Centres have more value when all things are equal but to say a 40 goal, over a point a game game breaker is worth less than a below average defensively 2C (Horvat) or a maybe 60 point 2c with size (PLD) is just buying into the leaf hate. Nylander has scored the 22nd most goals in the league over the past 3 seasons and 23rd most points. Regardless of his position, that's impressive and extremely valuable. Everyone in that range makes around 10 million. Willy is immensely valuable to say otherwise is just silly</div></div>
Nylander's defensive numbers are atrocious indicating he just skates in around in a circle when he's in his own end. Not a lot of coaches are going to give guys that much leeway defensively and not punish them.

Why target the unrealistic when u can look at a pkg similar to what Horvat or PLD got
Cause Nylander isnt in the realm of being worth a 2nd OA pick prospect like Beniers or 3rd OA pick like Fantilli
If we look at what PLD who was the 3OA pick he got he 11 OA pick Vilardi + top 9 wing Iaffalo + 20th OA pick Kupari
For CBJ look at realistic targets like Sillinger + Peeke and other assets
or Seattle guys like Bjorkstrand + Kartye etc</div></div>
I guess the two teams I guessed, calgary and washington, are cause i thought they were teams he would sign to like calgary he grew up in and his mentor backstrom in washington

GarthBrooks, I don't understand the premise of Toronto having to overpay guys on 1-year deals. Anyone signing a 1-year deal in Toronto is doing it on a discount. The guys that they might have to "overpay" are players looking for multi-years by 1M or so on top of the UFA premium. Maybe 2M for a guy who doesn't want to play in Toronto originally on a multi-year deal.
Wood at 4Mx1 makes the Leafs look like they are the Blackhawks in a rebuild.</div></div>
My idea behind this was Matthews and Nylander are gonna eat whatever remaining cap space we have with Nylander reported 9.75 and Matthews above 13 mil on a 4 year. Didn't want to sign or keep any long-term deals till the next off-season where we'd get a better idea where the cap is going to go
I actually hate this team if they these guys sign short max cap contracts like we gonna be stuck in the exact same position for years
