Any move that the Leafs make has to be one with playoff success in mind. Olofsson doesn't fit the bill. He's poor at forechecking which doesn't help in the playoffs

Based on what exactly? He's a wizard with his stick offensively and defensively. He has a real issue with consistent effort so he definitely isn't great defensively but he is nowhere near the worst defensively. The Leafs have literally picked up 3 worse defensively forwards this summer in bertuzzi, Domi, and Reaves.

Leafs are worse with exchange of Nylander/Liljegren for Olossson/Pesce. With that trade the Leafs would have four UFA Dmen and just Reilly, Timmins and McCabe returning in 24/25...Yikes.

He is lazy at times and does not put the team first. There have been numerous instances in the play offs that have been highlighted where he just bails on a play because he doesn't want to sacrifice himself. And one of the most important requirements of play off hockey is to sacrifice for the team. How do you think the minimum wage players feel when they see that type of play, they say to themselves "why should I go out and sacrifice for the team if the so called super stars who make a lot more money aren't willing to do it." He has tons of skill and talent, but his actions on the ice too many times just scream "me first". That is the culture that a team needs to get rid of to be successful, and that is my guess why someone like ROR probably got out of dodge at the first opportunity, because he knew he mental make up of the team, and knew it is not the foundation of a Stanley Cup winner.

For all the non leaf fans who read your stuff and then think "finally a sensible leaf fan", he is not, just another guy posing as a leaf fan

Are you trying to agree with me or the person I was responding to? This chart stated that they predict he'll be the 17th percentile defensively for next year. So unless there are only 6 forwards in the league next year he would NOT be anywhere near the worst in the league.
