Lol where was this rumor? Another post on ACGM?
Our most valuable trade chip and a recent first round defenseman for a very good forward who doesn’t fit the timeline of the team ( the very same reason they are considering trading TK) a massive cap dump and 2 3rds…. That is laughably bad

Your argument was that you have too many LD, you said nothing about term. And you literally have 4 guys signed for longer than 2 years. Doesn’t exactly hamstring you

Detroit has a ton of cap space and they will want to take the next step. That’s why all the rumors of them going after TK. They also get a puck moving dman to help them further as they are relatively thin on the back end after Seider

Both players are around 30 and not needed on a rebuilding team that wants to play the young kids. Dallas needs the Flyers to take back salary to make it work. So Dallas needs to make it worth their while to take back that salary

Not worth it to take on Armias contract for the next 2 years and only get a 4th for it. Would save 1.6M on the cap this year but then cost us the full cap hit next year. Would be better to just buy him out and have 1.6M in dead cap for this year and next

Yeah you are going backwards there with that sub in terms of value. I didn’t say we’d take just any RHD. And btw you are getting absolutely robbed in that WPG trade. A high quality RD prospect, a young almost PPG forward, a recent former first rounder , a 1st round pick and 2 seconds for a defenseman who just had a career year and you don’t know if they will repeat that, a 3rd pair dman and a goo middle 6 winger. WPG takes that and loses your number so you don’t try to take it back

One person saying they would take that trade doesn’t speak for everyone. I agree that the Flyers would want Morrow. They need help at C, yes but they want to focus on building out the defense. Especially with a forward heavy draft they will be targeting D prospects in trade, especially RHD ( as they already showed with the provorov deal)

Yeah this is definitely a quantity over quality kind of package. You need to give to get and they would just be giving up a bunch of spare parts in hopes we bite on the mystery bag presented.

They see Tippett as one of the definite core guys for the rebuild going forward. No one gets him out of Philly without a package that at least contains a first in either this or next year. And even then … maybe they at least consider it

To be fair, the canes were without svechnikov last year and he will be coming back so they already have that addition to their scoring without giving anything up. Now that’s not to say that they don’t want even more. Most of their roster is only signed for 1 more year so after next year they could look completely different. Id bet they want to go all in next year to try to win

3 way block buster
Personally I don’t think TOR is giving up enough in this deal. And for what the Flyers are getting back I don’t think it’s enough to part with Hart, Laughton and Farabee. I’d rather trade them all in separate deals. Well with the exception of Farabee because his value is at a low point so it’s not a smart move

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>Sadly, agree with that reality but not the logic the Sabres would apply - Konecny would add an aggressive forechecking, agitating element the Sabres don't really have on the roster and could benefit from. Mittelstadt flourished last season for the 1st time but his forte is playmaking, of which the Sabres already have Krebs on board and Savoie waiting in the wings.
Despite the rumor mill, I also doubt that Tortorella will be happy if Briere ships off his favorite player and the type that Tortorella wants a team full of.</div></div>
Torts is on board with the rebuild and there’s no guarantee TK ( or any of the vets for that matter) resign. Best to kick the rebuild into high gear and get the most back to have the best chance of hitting on draft picks or better by successful with reclamation projects

I like Attard. He has adjusted well at every level he’s played got noticeably better each year. He’s a late bloomer but he’s always working to fix his game and address his weaknesses. He’s the kind of kid who hates making the same mistake twice. So he works his ass of to try and make sure that doesn’t happen.
We don’t need an established guy now. We need the guy who is going to turn into the better player in the long term

He’s the kind of guy that they flyers should be looking for. Players where the talent is definitely there, they just haven’t put it all together yet and reached their potential.

It’s been reported that they already turned down a late first for him. I also indicated that it was top 10 protected. I would even change that to top 15 protected. They throw in what looks to be a first round bust at this point. He’s a bottom 6er taken way too early in the draft. He won’t ever live up to the top 10 billing.

I don’t know to be honest, if we’re trading up to get Michkov then it depends on if we get another 1st over the next couple weeks. I want at least another top tier prospect coming in from this draft to help with the rebuild in the meantime while we wait for him to (hopefully) come over. Especially as insurance in case he doesnt come over.
If we don’t make any other moves and we are hoping for Michkov then I would stand pat and hope he falls to 7
If we’re going up to get will smith then I absolutely do this regardless of other moves the flyers make over the next couple weeks.
