Korpi and Forsy have been so bad that they have legitimately cost the Sens a shot at the playoffs. Had they had a league average of .900%, Ottawa would be where Detroit and Washington are... and that is after the defensive implementations JM and CO. have instituted. 21 out of the 76 games Ottawa has played, they have let in the first or second shot on goal... that is awful.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt early when DJ Smith was still apart of the team. But, after the entire team (OFF and DEF) increased their advanced defensive stats, the goalies took the biggest step back in terms of play that made me lose my mind...</div></div>
Been there! Jones last few years in SJ drove me nuts and I feel with a better goalie we would have had a chance at the cup in 18/19! Instead of getting tossed in the WCF.
But goaltending is Vodoo one year you get all world and the next they guy fails to break 900% it’s the most frustrating position in sports

1. Parker Kelly can be signed to league minimum.
2. Chandler Stephenson would rather sign that with Vegas.
3. Sam Lafferty and Matt Murray fleece you.
4. Sharks fleece you
5. Flyers fleece you
6. Vegas accepts.

I think that $5.6 million x 5 seasons is the max that the Kings will go. That would mean foregoing a quality winger for Pierre-Luc DuBois (like, for example, re-signing Viktor Arvidsson).

The Chychrun ship sailed at the trade deadline . . . we need Jordan Spence in the quite likely event that Matt Roy signs elsewhere.

Did you forget to put Boston's 1st round pick instead of Ottawa's? Because no, this does not work for Ottawa. This is hilariously bad. No #1 overall pick is worth a rental goalie for a cap dump and a top 4 D... Ottawa will just buy Korpisalo out rather than suffer a loss of a trade this lopsided.</div></div>

Hawks will take Smith but they definitely ain't paying for him. You clear cap and Chicago gets to flip him at the deadline. Win. Win.
Pit would have to retain half for Ottawa to consider that karlsson trade

Also, Bourque and Stankoven are off the table here.</div></div>
1. Dadonov is out long-term.
2. Because Tanev and Hanifin might cost more.

If it were Duchene, or Robertson, or Johnston, etc. then I'd be more inclined to try and add a forward. I like Dadonov, but he was not a major offensive contributor in Dallas' top-9. Shoot, Sam Steel is almost producing at the same rate as Dadonov. It just doesn't seem worth it for Dallas to use a 1st Round Pick (or equal value) to replace a 3rd line forward when they can either slot in someone like Steel to that role or simply just use Stankoven/Bourque to fill that role.
Tanev should not cost MORE than Tarasenko either. Hanifin, very likely would (and should), but it would also be more worth it for Dallas in the long run. Shoot, if I'm making a deal with Ottawa, Chychrun is probably at the top of my list, given my needs. If I'm Dallas and I'm okay moving some of the assets you have listed here then I'm not going for a middle-6 winger. I want a true top-4 defenseman like Chychrun.

You didn't address their most pressing need short term. LD
Brannstrom isn't an upgrade Motte has been playing real well they can undo that Ottawa trade and concentrate those assets on a better LD alternative.

the jarmo kekalainen - ville siren combo is hard to beat. if there were banners to raise for mid-late round value they'd be raising them. edit to add: if you have a russian you need to get over to north america, jarmo has a very good track record at getting prospects out of russia.

He drafted a huge chunk of the heart of the Blues Cup team, despite having left the organization nearly a decade earlier. Perron, Petro, Tarasenko and Schwartz were all his picks. And he kinda set the standard and the structure and the methods of the Blues scouting department that has continued to largely kill it at the draft since he left. And before Jarmo, the Blues were one of the worst drafting teams in the league. A tire fire in a dumpster floating down a flooded street.
