Hawks will take Smith but they definitely ain't paying for him. You clear cap and Chicago gets to flip him at the deadline. Win. Win.
Pit would have to retain half for Ottawa to consider that karlsson trade

I mean i don't get the idea of EK for Chabot i do have a few reasons
1. Ottawa should not trade a Young Defensemen with a bright future for an ageing Karlsson getting worse
2. Karlsson is pretty expensive and would not help the sens future cap space
3. The Senators should aim to have a young core in the future, including a young Defense (Brannstrom, Chabot, Zub, Sanderson and his bad contract, Bernard-Docker)

To me Senators fans should not be trading their best young defensemen for an old expensive one
