Well that's a very very very very very wild overpay. Anyone who says Columbus says no is absolutely clueless to the package. Horribly crippling trade for Edmonton.
I do really like idea of signing Chara if he's open to Edmonton. He's always been in the east so I have my doubts but to counter the addition tough travel schedule could offer him time off allowing broberg more playing time. Adding his presence and experience in the dressing room could pay off.

Yea...Moving a decade + of Holloway, a 1st and 2nd for 20-30 games of Kane makes a lot of sense. Who needs high end prospects with on their ELCs to win cups anyway?

Insane Sens trade. Ottawa has no need for Tyson Barrie at all. He's a defensive liability, and an offensive Dman who doesn't drive offense at all. All he does is rack up points and get crushed defensively. Exactly what Ottawa doesn't need.

that is an absolutely absurd Sens trade. The last thing that the Sens need is Barrie. but even if they did, he doesn’t hold that much value. I wouldn’t trade either of Brown or Joseph one-for-one for Barrie, or Puljujarvi for that matter. The Sens are giving up the two better plays and then kicking in a high pick and a prospect for what… just to be nice? also, Joseph, Marchment, Mikheyev, Yamamoto, Husso, and Ruuta all don’t sign those deals.

Keith isn’t the problem it is his cap hit. There should have been a 50% salary retention. Otherwise no Oiler fan has complaints regarding the deal. Keith has been pretty steady, with only a few bad moments and only a handful of bad games.</div></div>
I get that lol. I’ll give him credit for some of his guys performing better than expected, but that trade was terrible for their cap situation

Foegele is worth a third to many teams, just not to Buffalo.

I'd be very careful with a long-term deal with Kane. He's been a very good fit, but he's also worn out his welcome in three cities.
I'd be happy with what they got and will continue to get from him this year. It's been an incredible value deal. However for 6m that would scare me if I'm the Oilers

He is a fast, physical, responsible player who can PK and can pitch in on offense. He is a popular player in Edmonton as he was in Carolina.
Buffalo’s Management would do this deal in a heartbeat.</div></div>
Yes it is, always good to have competition. But if Buffalo adds a forward I hope it's to push the top 6

Kane will cost $5 mill at least. Yamo and Pujli will both want more, Kulak as well.

Edmonton Oilers signed Ryan Fanti (2 Years / $925,000 AAV)
I love this signing. I think the future of goaltending for my Oilers will be homegrown. It’s so difficult to find a good goalie without sacrificing our depth. That leaves only two ways of getting a goalie: free agency (which failed, we actually had the highest bid for Markstrom) or homegrown. I am very concerned by our poor goalie coaching, but we have two of the best AHL goalies right now both under 25, and now we add one of the best NCAA goalies. We’ll be fine for goaltending in a year or two. It’s the defense I am worried about. I’ve watched nearly every game this year and the vast majority of losses I can’t blame on our goalies, it’s on our defense. Our defense has improved notably under Woodcroft, but few coaches if any can turn Barrie and Ceci into competent defenders or make Keith feel like a 27yo. That said, we have quite a few defensive prospects I really like, namely Neimeleinen (Finish d-man who loves nothing more than to inflict pain) and Broberg (Star Swedish d-man who has shown great intelligence and awareness under Woodcroft).

Great display of foresight by the scouting staff to select this kid in the . . . wait a minute -- you say he wasn't drafted? Well, then, he can't be any good at all, can he?
Seriously, I think that there's every chance this youngster makes it to the NHL.

Something I like just as much as the pretty goalie numbers? He's 22. The kid's got miles of development time left in him.

I also don’t get why giving husso that contract with such a small sample size. Imagine signing Hammond after his run with Ottawa how damaging that would have proven to be. I’d certainly look at giving skinner the spot instead he’s not only done everything expected of but exceeded expectations.
