As a Flyers fan I would argue if any talent is there. Was a reach when Hextall picked him, no one liked it then and no one likes it now. Ever since he was drafted he has plummeted down a Flyers prospect pool that is mostly barren. It is arguable he could hang in the AHL at this point. Sure it is a low risk endeavor but a roster spot could be used better.

Flyers are entering a rebuild. They do not need to be anywhere near the playoffs next year, no way they are trading two young players for that.

It isn't often a 24 year old goaltender with RFA status, term and pedigree gets traded. I don't know if Flyers want to trade him or not but if they do they are going to want a haul. The kind of deal that accelerates a rebuild. Bare minimum I can see him going for is a first, a good prospect and later picks. They probably ask for two first round picks.

It isn't often a 24 year old goalie with term, RFA status and pedigree gets traded. Since Briere said they needed to rebuild some reports are saying teams have already called about a potential off season trade so they are going to probably want a haul for him. The kind of deal that fast tracks a rebuild, we are talking two firsts, a good prospect and other picks.

As for Laughton, he is a Torts guy on a good deal and I don't think they have much interest in trading him for what is offered in this deal. You'd have to make a better offer most likely.

Flyers trade is terrible. Hayes isn't such a anchor that they need to pay a 1st to move him. They won't get a great return and will have to eat some salary but he does have value still.

Not until season is over for some reason. Multiple reports Fletchers every move is getting approval before it happens and that he is likely done after the season.

Edit- As in done I mean no longer the GM. But since Fletcher has allies still and the Flyers is a country club for the old hockey men he will get the old "Fired Up" treatment. They will make him up some BS title like "Executive Associate Consultant to Hockey Operations" just so they can say the Flyers are "loyal".

Flyers pass. Frost is finally showing the skills of the player they thought they drafted. Flyers need to get younger with a rebuild. Not take on a 33 year old with 3 years left on his deal at 8 million after this season.

TK likely only moves if a true rebuild is started. I find it more fascinating you think Braun is a second pair guy. On a contender he is probably cheap depth that can fill in for a few games, a #6 at best.

I agree with you completely. Just saying Flyers would need this type of overpay to consider it right now. I wish Flyers were near last place team, that'd be the dream.

Yeah it is a overpay, the type of deal the Flyers would likely need to consider moving Laughton considering Torts loves him and the fact Tippet is on pace for a 20 goal, 50+ point season showing flashes of the player the Panthers picked at #10

With the direction the Flyers seem to be heading in the off season I doubt they have much interest in Carter even for free unless they end up moving TK or Farabee, even then it is a long shot trade that is likely taking place in the off season and would have to be one hell of a good deal.
