Has Denis Gurianov earned his qualifying offer for next season
I’m going to say No. who doesn’t want a 6’3” 205 lbs fast skater? The problem is he disappears for several games after a good one. Last night in buffalo, he was a passenger.
Many are talking about RHP & rightfully so, but Ylonen has 12 points to RHP 8, in the last ten games, then add the injured players and do Habs really need another Armia?

Snagging a RHD
I wouldn’t be so quick to trade for a Dman. Savard is doing a good job. Barron is going to get stronger, Kovacevic is surprisingly efficient and his plus minus would back that. Plus you have 25 goal dman in Mailloux. Montreal is set on both left and right side.

If it’s true Dubois will be with Habs, I’m sure the two GM’s will figure things out. I generally don’t speculate on what ifs.

I agree but Armia is so frustrating. In international events playing for his country he scores amazing goals, with Habs it’s a slow painful movie lol

I’ve seen many of his away games in the territory I cover. But that’s fine if you don’t like him. I’ve had many people disagree with me over the years but I’ve been scouting since 1999 and I believe Owen will be the Habs 3rd line Centre in a year or two. Plenty of players had amazing Junior stats that never translated to the NHL level.
Plus I can view all his games on my program.

Respectfully I strongly disagree with your comment. Prior to trade he was #1 Centre. Since trade he is #2 Centre. He is no longer on PP1 but PP2. He’s still averaging almost a point per game. His game at NHL level will be as a #3rd line Centre. I’ve known Trevor Letowski since he was in Sarnia in 2010 & I was with another team. We also did work together in 2007, with Team Ontario. He tells me, the entire coaching staff are very high on Beck.

To add to that. There were 5 players traded of which I acknowledged retainment on 2 of the players. The other 3 are Allen, a cup winner that is excellent in dressing room that is a good #2, that would have better stats on a stronger team. Edmundson, a cup winner that is excellent in the dressing room, that has leadership and is excellent on PK. Both these players still have a market. Lastly Wideman that costs nothing and can be traded for a 7th round or put on waivers. So my post wasn’t that bad and well explained.

Well I did say to any team for any return. I’m pretty sure I made it abundantly clear I am not expecting much in return. So I think you should have read entire description before jumping on me. But you are honestly the reason why I don’t post much anymore on here.

His production is not commensurate with his salary.
$11,475,000 is very rich for a player who would be either a 3rd or 4th line center on the Sabres.
Hughes may find a team to offer up assets for him, it just would not be Buffalo.</div></div>
My question was not about where he would play nor what Montreal would get in return. My question was how did $11.4 million get calculated? Because I’m at $8.9. It’s not a big deal, I was just curious

It’s fine you don’t want Dvorak but this trade is for next season. My math is $4.45 x 2 is $8.9. How did you arrive at $11.4 ?

I never said he was a Saviour. There’s only one Saviour and most mock Him.
But I’m based in Ontario and I’ve been a paid scout for many years. I’ve seen Beck play 25 times and he’s very sound and a better player than KK. I also know Assistant Coach Trevor Letowski really well and he has told me how much the entire staff likes him. With that being said, why bring back KK, that is still inconsistent when Dvorak is there for next year and Beck should be there the following season after that.

Not sure if it will be next year or the following year but here are my 7 D, say season 2024-2025, so in two years:
Matheson-Savard
Guhle-Barron (D partners at world juniors)
Wifi-Mailloux
If Mailloux plays similar to the way he’s playing in the OHL, I would trade Savard and move Mailloux into top 4.
Now Hudson to me is the wild card. If he can do at NHL level what he is doing at NCAA, then Montreal has their puck mover of the future.

The emergence of Kaiden Guhle has made Edmundson available. Matheson, Guhle & Wifi on left side will be good. Then add Harris & Hudson.

If Habs get a 1st, I will be surprised. A healthy Edmundson no problem but it’s no secret his back is an issue.

Habs ideal offseason
While Gally has slowed, he’s not done. He has a broken bone in his foot.
RHP is not going to get that much and will get more than one year.
They acquired Dach to be their 2nd line centre. Monahan would have been traded had he not been injured.
Barron will only get better and Logan Mailloux is coming. No need to give so much for Dunn.
Gurianov played great last night, but there’s a reason Jim Nill traded him away. I would wait to see more before offering a 3 year contract.
