Honestly think Los Angeles might be a good fit for Juulsen and they like Montreal's former 1sts (Scherbak)

It's because he's not waiver exempt anymore. Anyone not waiver exempt has to go through waivers to get sent down

I don't think Steen officially retired. He's just not going to play another game so St.Louis has to put him on LTIR.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jfrojelin</b></div><div>Byron has no place on the team, other than the fourth line (product of the wing depth) and his scoring is waster there. If I was the habs, I'd roll:
Tatar Suzuki Gally
Drouin Danault Anderson
Toffoli KK Armia
Byron Poehling? Perry
wasted Byron. Maybe next year when a whole bunch of forwards re-sign his role increases, but he restricts them from signing those players.</div></div>
I think Realistically Byron can play any of the 4th line spots or 3RW. We are also bound to have injuries and Byron is the perfect guy to have because he can play anywhere.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jfrojelin</b></div><div>Price I forgot about. And sure currently those players are worth it currently(not Byron because he's rarely in the lineup and y'all have possibly some of the best wing depth in the league) but Weber isn't going to age well, sadly. I do think the trade doesn't make too much sense for the habs (tho the value is fair just not the situation) because of the mass amounts of re-signing they have to do this offseason</div></div>
Price is arguable because he's wildly inconsistent so you don't know what you are getting, but Byron is always in the line up (unless he's injured) and while he does play in the bottom 6, he gets 1st line PK time and can also score 15-20 goals. While it's likely not an ideal contract for a playoff contending team, he's definitely worth his value. Look up his advanced stats and you will see what I'm talking about. He was injured last year, so that's why people are saying he's overpaid.
People have been saying Weber will regress for 4 years now and we aren't seeing many signs of it and when he actually does regress, He's a good contract for a budget team because he's only owed 6 million for this year and next, then 3 million for 2022-2023 and then 1 million for 2023-2026, so it's a good contract to meet the salary floor, if he retires Nashville is the only one who has to face recapture penalties.

I'm thinking Julien's first choice is the Tatar-Danault-Gallagher line and then 2nd it's the Drouin line. This year is might even be his first choice as I believe Drouin-Suzuki-Anderson is a real game changer line.

The only trades that actually make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRealGM</b></div><div>Agree to disagree I guess. I think KK is definitely better than a 3C. I think we've only seen a small sample size and from what I've seen he has all skills to be a 1C or 2C, he just hasn't put it together yet. Up till now he's been a kid. He got drafted 3rd overall for a reason. Everyone develops slightly different. 2 years is a big difference when you're talking about 22 vs. 19.I haven't seen enough PLD to know all his intangibles but I'm pretty high on KK as a pretty complete player. Don't see the need at this point to make a trade if CBJ want KK +... Too much to lose when you could hold onto the chips you have. Agree, Weber much better then and now. It is similar situation though.</div></div>
For KK being better than a 3C, I'm talking about right now. There are no guarantees he develops into anything more. There's a real good shot he does, but nothing is guaranteed. I'm not saying KK is a bust or anything (Way too early to even consider that), I'm just talking about who will be the better player. Dubouis is 22 so everything you are saying about KK is the same for PLD. Neither players are even in their primes yet.

The only trades that actually make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRealGM</b></div><div>Of course you are. Because you are looking at right now. No GM makes trades like this without considering the long term. No question at this moment in time PLD is better. No debate. The question is who is the more complete player in 3-5 years? It's like when MB trade Subban for Weber. At the time Subban looked like the better player. Who would you rather have today? Who is better for your team?</div></div>
I'm thinking 100% long term. It's not like Dubois is 28 or 29 and already out of his Prime, we are comparing two players here who are 2 years apart and we both know Montreal's development problems. In the perfect world, Kotkaniemi maxes out at PLD's level, and that's best case. Like I said, I'd rather go with Dubois because he guarantees we are getting a good 1C.
Who is the more complete player? I'm going with PLD because there's no surefire shot that KK becomes anything better than a 3C. This doesn't compare to the PK vs Weber trade whatsoever, I said MB won the trade when he made the deal and I say he won it now. Subban wasn't the better player then and he sure as hell isn't now.

If it's straight up I'm taking PLD all day every day. Maybe KK is better than him at one point, but I'm going with the surefire guy.
