Let’s be real. If he were a UFA this offseason, I guarantee you a GM would “overpay” for Miller. 8 mil for a point per game winger isn’t outrageous. With the cap going up, it’s not like he has an albatross contract right now

I agree that a 2nd is probably bit too rich but he easily worth a 3rd and another mid pick at least

He has good leadership and grit which you guys seemingly paid a first round pick for when you acquired an already washed Nick Foligno
Edit: Nick Foligno had 16 points in 42 games the season he got traded. Schenn has 7 points in 16 and is on pace to put score Foligno. Schenn is a depth defenseman btw

A first from Boston this year is likely to be practically a 2nd rounder with how good they’re are doing, so I figured that plus a Mid prospect is probably fair value

Whilst I agree with that, 8 x7 for a guy showing signs of regression isn’t what a GM is going to be too happy about, that deal makes it very difficult to trade without you taking a-lot of salary back Smith + Rielly or Foligno is what needs to be moved

Just block them lol, there’s no point arguing with most Wild fans on here. Bill Guerin is the perfect GM, their 3rd liners are more valuable than your best player, and they couldn’t possibly get rid of a mid-round pick, because Guerin could just use that to draft the next Kucherov, so it would need to be a Kucherov level player on a league min cap hit to get them to trade a bottom six player and a mid-round pick, and if you disagree you’re stupid and wrong :awesome :awesome :awesome :awesome

overpay
Vegas likely says yes. Pittsburgh probably says yes due to Pettersson’s contract. Arizona might say yes, but that’s a maybe. Islanders I think could actually say yes to this, assuming the pick is around pick 14/15 in the draft. I think they’d do it if Vancouver took on Josh Bailey as part of the trade. Toronto Laughs at the offer; they don’t want a rental and certainly not at the price of a good middle 6 forward, their upcoming star d man, a very good forward prospect who, if healthy, should become a very good top 6er at worse, and a first on top of all that. Miller half retained is an amazing piece, but Toronto isn’t the team that would be interested

Quoting: Hamcity

The more teams involved also complicates things because as you indicated they need to be paid, but many contenders are asset dry as it is. You only have so many picks to give. If a team like Tampa got a player like Dumba on that low of a salary tho it would be huge for them undoubtedly

I think they could do it tbh. A 2nd to Arizona for the retained salary and Chicago’s early 4th to Buffalo. That just means they need to figure out what to give Minnesota. Considering Minnesota would be moving the full 6 mil, I doubt the price is astronomically high. Maybe Cal Foote and a minor piece, or a forward prospect like Maxim Cajovik + another asset

He's been banned like 5 or 6 times by now at least. It's the same arguments and same bad typing. If you see a new account that is a Wild fan and he starts his arguments with "with all due respect" you can tell it's him on a new account trying to be nice. It's lasts about 3 days before he's back to stuff like this thread.
I'd love to see him be right and the Wild get a haul for Fiala but that's gonna be tough with so many teams that could use him being cap strapped. Guerin could very well get something like you've posted if there are limited options for trade partners. Guess we'll find out this summer.

For Fiala, a pick between 20-40 and an inexpensive NHLer or prospect sounds right. Buchnevich or Reinhart deals as comps.
Devils and Senators have that ammo.

Dumba makes a lot of sense to trade if someone is interested. Maybe a 3 way deal with a team where Minnesota gets assets for Dumba, sends him to Arizona who then retains the 3 mil and sends him for an asset for the retained salary to a different team (Tampa would be an interesting option)

Trouble trading Dumba is his 6m X 1 contract. The only teams interested in him would be contenders who don't have cap without sending cap to the Wild, which defeats the purpose of the trade.
A signed Fiala can be traded to a non playoff team with cap. Ottawa, Jersey, LA, Detroit, Buffalo to me seem like logical fits. IMO Ottawa might be the best fit.

You can have Holl though, unless Lyubuskin leaves. A 3rd seems about the right price too. Good team all around.

I’m not going to get into the Holl discussion or how I hate the idea of EJ second pair and Girard third pair ( as we’ve already discussed this today).
As for Mikheyev, i like it. I think he’s a good middle 6 scoring threat.
Cousins signing is alright

Isles deal is fair - I would do Mayfield for POJ straight up and getting Kapanen's rights for Matt Martin is a steal. In a vacuum it's probably a slight overpay on Pittsburgh's part but I think Lou would wring every last drop from an in-division trade.

Look, people think just because we can't afford him at $7M he's gone... which is possible... but if he signs for anything close to $6M which we can afford, he's staying.
If Fiala was willing to sign for that, we could trade out someone like Kulikov at $2M and keep him.
