Watching Nurse over the last 2 NHL seasons plus watching him in the OHL, he has become somewhat of a young version of Pronger. He has become more disciplined with his hits and his hockey IQ with and without the puck has been getting better every year. I'd like to see Edmonton hold on to Klefbom and Nurse grow together and become a true #1 pairing together.

Possible Next Year Moves
This is actually very possible move by the Flyers. adding Neal would be one of the smartest off-season moves that Hextall has made over the last couple of seasons. I see them re-signing Mrazek and letting either Elliott or Neuvirth go, I don't think Hart will be up next season unless he is the starter, they would want him in the AHL playing in every game possible.

Klefbom isn't their best defenceman. Nurse is a lot more stable and has a better overall game than Klefbom. Nurse and Larsson are probably the only two untouchables on that back end if the Oilers were going to move one of them.

Washington is over paying for Klefbom. I agree that Grubeaur would be the back-up goalie Edmonton has needed - I don't seem them getting Buraskovky. I could see a second round and a conditional 3rd round pick being sent back to Washington for this deal.

A lot when you're playing in the corners and on the forecheck instead of a dumb and chase but no board pressure. what made Koivu so good is that he could generate offense from below the goal line. Drouin and Gallgenyuk have the ability to get open from the wings but not one to get them the puck, Tkacuk will be that guy and he can do it from every where on the ice. Having Tkachuk on a line with Drouin and Gallgenyuk would allow any of the 3 to swap between wings and center and make it hard on the defense to keep up with them cause they can all produce from each side of the ice. It's why the Bruins top line of Pasternak - Bergeron - Marchand is so dominate, they can attack from each part of the ice. Montreal has lacked that for the last 3-5 years.

Would love to see it but i feel like karlsson would take away from the offence that wideman can produce by himself on a different pairing.</div></div>
that's fair but Wideman is more of a Methot than anyone else. he could stay back and cover for Karlsson but can still have production. nothing wrong with having a 2 way defense man with a offensive minded first defense. Chabot and Parayko would be a good combo for the same reason.

but it still doesn't give any explanation to traded that amount of prospect/picks for a defenseman and a bottom 6 forward. If I was giving up that much i'd roussell added to that deal.

If i was going to bring back Plekanec, it would be on a 1 year 1 mil deal, he isn't worth more than that as a 4th line player. I don't agree with Montreal drafted Svechnikov due to the fact that montreal needs a true #1 center that they have been lacking since Koivu left. Tkachuk would bring a level of grit to the team to pair with Gally.

The Klefbom trade I could see happening if the Oilers win the Draft lottery. They haven't had a back cup that could easily start 30 games which forced Talbot to be over played which we all saw this season as a problem.

Well Mcphee is an idiot, unless Detroit butchers these picks, they easily won that trade. Klefbom and Faulk are 2 different types of defenseman. I think it would be a mistake if either of teams traded either of the players. also he is co-captain so it would be easier to deal him away.

Why are you trading 3 prospects and 2 first round picks for Klingberg and an out of prime Spezza? It looks like more of Dallas tossing in Spezza to make room for the amount of the prospects they are getting. Yamamoto seems poised to get into the roster next year and could easily help Mcdavid on the wing. I agree that getting Klingberg would be a massive upgrade to your top 4 but he isn't worth giving up so much for him.

What about Jaros or Lajoie? We have a lot of good quality defenseman in Belleville that we don't need to draft them in the first round, If we are going to get anymore top 10 picks, they should be used on our forwards to get a potential top 6 40+ goal scoring threat that Ottawa hasn't had since Heatley left. It's why Ottawa would be better off getting the #2 or #3 pick, get Svechnikov or Zadina to pair with White or Brown on our second line with Stone on the other wing.

Might have to add a bit more in the trade for Trouba. Why are you paying a 3rd line winger 6.5 Mill? these moves don't make the team better. still have a puck watcher in Zaitsev along with a weak 3rd pairing. This roster could easily make the playoffs but would be another 1st round exit with how weak that defense still is.

Trading Duchene for Seabrook isn't a smart move, why trade a 27 year old #1 center for a 32 yr old #3 or #4 defense man. I would keep the Hoffman - Duchene - Dzingel line with their chemistry late in the season. I like the idea of getting the picks from Anaheim for the right of Ceci and Cleasson. Overall with a couple of changes this could be a solid roster.

Don't look at the Colorado trade because it's obvious that the sabres won that deal.</div></div>
He was doing all that in Colorado, but people weren't willing to give up a 1st or 2nd for a 3rd line center, why would that change now? The fact that Pittsburgh gave up the amount they did for Brassard is a rarity. Looking into the comments he made about losing interest in the game through out the year, it may be better to get him out of town ASAP instead of waiting it out, don't want that kind of attitude in the locker room during training camp.

When Kapanen puts on the after burners, I do not think any one can catch him. Speed kills, I like this prospect.
Hockey writers ranking all teams prospects: "Calle Rosen and Andreas Borgman – two excellent young Swedish defencemen of immense promise who could certainly vie for NHL playing time this coming season" Another good prospect.
I of course like the 2018 1st, right now it is the 25th, but this draft is loaded, so this is good
Then a 3rd in 2019 most likely will not bring in any gold, but I love draft picks.
While this is not exactly what the Sabres may have wanted for O'Reilly, it is a fair offer.
Retaining $1,500,000 is not a big deal, but maybe that is negotiable.</div></div>
This is the best deal the Sabres could get for a 2-4 center. Kapanen with Eichel would be a speedy combo.

This is not that package to get the sabres to trade ror since we're not actively trading him, but just listening to offers.</div></div>
O'Reilly stock has taken a hit since being traded to Buffalo from Colorado, if teams weren't willing to trade top prospects/picks for him when he was with Colorado - why would they do it now? I don't see any other team giving up a 1st or 2nd round pick for a #2 or #3 center. Buffalo could use the 2 picks to move up in the draft especially if the leafs first round pick in 17-20. If I was the GM for Buffalo I'd take this deal, get rid of his cap hit and try to create a new culture.

Korpisalo is worth more than that too.</div></div>
Korpisalo stock dropped the minute he was sent down to the AHL last season, Korpisalo is probably the easiest back up to trade for right now.
Calgary is looking for that winger to play with Monahan and Gaudreau - Hoffman gives them that. If I was the GM of the Sens, I'd try to swing that trade, it addresses a couple of issues for both teams. a Hoffman - Tkachuk plus pick would be possible, the Ceci-Hamonic part of the deal would be harder to get done, that I agree with.

actually if Buffalo wanted to hit reset, getting rid of O'Reilly at the draft is probably the best thing they can do. 2 picks and 2 prospects might be the best offer they can get though for him. Could easily flip the first round pick along with the 3rd to move up in the draft. Kapanan might actually play to his potential if he were to play top 6 minutes with guys like Eichel or Reinhart. If Leafs management wanted to waste 2 picks and 2 prospects to get a bottom 6 forward, Buffalo would be dumb to not accept it.

Why would you give up 6 prospect and 3 picks for 2 guys and the leafs don't even need O'Reilly. Braun would be a great upgrade to that top 4 but giving up that much for a 31 year 4th defense-man who only has a year left. Those trade make the team worse in the long run.
