Could Lou refuse Probably
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jacketsman61</b></div><div>I mean it is not bad but not sure I would move KJ for a player that will take minutes away from Mateychuk. I would much rather move KJ for a more established C that can anchor this team with Fantilli.</div></div>
Personally I would see what it would take to get a 50% Pageau. The offense might not be there but he's still a faceoff/defensive expert which we could use for a 3rd line. That would give us more options down the center to get them to a wing position like Boone.

You beat me too it!
I would offer KJ and a 50% Provorov (or a Svoliz but to me Provorov would be a more fair proposal)

Wait an actual halfway decent signing and trade request on Capfriendly...no way! Props!
Personally I like Texier but for what he brings and the cost we could just get someone in Cleveland but other than that its well more than fine! Good Job!

If you want Jenner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>The key here is Jenner has term on one of the objectively best non-ELC deals in the league. I don't think he fetches <em>this </em>return, but a 1st, 2nd (or 2 3rds), and a top prospect isn't out of the question. People act like having what amounts to Pavelski in front of the net, Lindholm on the dot, Horvat-style play on Bouchard money for 2.5 more years isn't an absolute cheat code that costs significant futures to get.</div></div>
Yeah people are gonna be shocked when he gets a strong return, not because of his play but because of his term/contract. You get a 5.5 mil player on a 3.75 contract and if its held by 50%...oh my god the return could be ridiculous. That being said I expect a 1st, 2nd, and a young player/prospect. There would be ALOT of interest right now this year for Jenner especially as the flat cap continues to stife the league.

Rolling with Tarry healthy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>This lineup reveals a glaring, Laine-sized hole at 1RW in my opinion. Which also makes me think less and less that Laine has a long-term future here.
I think the long-term tandem should be Greaves-Tarasov, but that doesn't mean we have to move Merzlikins this season. I doubt Toronto has the cap space to take both players back, or the will to make a move for a goalie when Woll and Jones have been pretty good when healthy.</div></div>
This is been my concern lately we are missing a lights out RW1 BUT we have SEVERAL options potentially coming soon with Brindley in 2 or so years (I love the thought of a KJ-Fantilli-Brindley line as that's the perfect balance of playing types on a line) or even Dumais (I think he's gonna end up more as a Bemstrom/3rd liner). Its like this team very well could be cooking next year as the team gets more experience but right now I consider that (A TRUE RW1) and a 3rd line LD as a must fill right now. That two years Laine has to prove it but really I don't think he's got much of a future here.

Cutting your losses
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NucksnOilers</b></div><div>Even with their consistent success the Isles could use a 40 goal guy in that top 6 for cheap. They dump a real bad contract in JGP while and don't even lose a first in the deal while giving up a prospect that hasn't worked out so far</div></div>
I am looking at this trade too like that seems like a straight up hockey trade as Columbus needs a more defensive minded center who can win faceoffs similar to Jenner while Fantilli develops into their number one and Islanders while getting a younger offensive fire power shot who can be a power play merchant in a properly run system, which is not currently done here in Columbus. I really could see Laine getting back to form with Horvat running his line as his problem in Columbus is he's pretty much set up to be the line driver but that's not what he does...he supposed to sit on the dot, clap bombs and bang mo...yeah score goals. Would need to find 3 mil to cover the cap cost on the islander's end though but I really don't see why not.

Wont happen even if you dump a bedard level trade package in front of them. Right now the oiler’s window is start to slam down shut in front of their eyes and they are going to do whatever they can to prop it open just for a bit longer. They are not going to move a core piece right now.

There's nothing wrong with the contract with AAV, its just the term and how the real salary is structure nobody will care about that in 4 years time. People really overplay the "unmovable" contract line.

Where he should be to be honest which I know flyers wouldn’t mind having right now. I was going to do a Johnny one similar to this just to see what the reaction would be but this works too

We tried that last year too...it didn't work but yeah Jiricek just made things much for difficult for the FO. I thought for sure they bring of Blanks to hold off on this decision because in 2 weeks when Z gets back someone is going to have to be gone and probably is Peeke at this point. Kent Johnson Scratch Overreaction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Amongst the fanbase, we think he probably took his foot off the gas in camp and preseason since his spot was essentially guaranteed, and then some more fringey guys and Fantilli came in 110%. He was virtually invisible. New coach Vincent's making an example. I still think he probably plays tomorrow, though. Two practices in green jerseys is probably warning enough not to get complacent. He also might have tweaked something, who knows.</div></div>
Vincent is using him as an example to ensure another Larsen situation doesn't happen. In addition to squashmaple's statement our coach wants to enforce systems this year and wants a really up-tempo style of offensive possession and KJ is really bad about slowing down his game and setting up the line to move at his pace. Sounds like Vincent has been trying to speed up his game a bit too and isn't catching as quick so why he's been a bit lackluster this preseason too. These are just warning shots to get KJ to play better but also using him as an example that nobody is guaranteed spots, y'all are expendable as we have PLENTY of kids in Cleveland who would love to come up...so play and practice hard.
