Either time works really.

Could be now, could be the TDL, could be the offseason. Just seems like a good fit to me for a real cheap price

If/once we trade Bush (likely at the deadline) we accept that all day imo

I know @GiggywithGibby agrees with me!

I won't miss him, but that's a perfect description for him. Put him in a position to succeed and enjoy all the blocked shots!

May I ask why not? The leafs have seem to had a rotating carousel of depth players the past 3 years. To grab two depth guys under the age of 30 for only a third seems like a good deal to me. They can also resign them to the contracts they want them to be on

Even with their consistent success the Isles could use a 40 goal guy in that top 6 for cheap. They dump a real bad contract in JGP while and don't even lose a first in the deal while giving up a prospect that hasn't worked out so far

Columbus doesn't move Yegor. He asked for a more solid answer for what his role is and has gotten it. Still willing to move Bo but Yegor isn't part of the deal.

I am looking at this trade too like that seems like a straight up hockey trade as Columbus needs a more defensive minded center who can win faceoffs similar to Jenner while Fantilli develops into their number one and Islanders while getting a younger offensive fire power shot who can be a power play merchant in a properly run system, which is not currently done here in Columbus. I really could see Laine getting back to form with Horvat running his line as his problem in Columbus is he's pretty much set up to be the line driver but that's not what he does...he supposed to sit on the dot, clap bombs and bang mo...yeah score goals. Would need to find 3 mil to cover the cap cost on the islander's end though but I really don't see why not.
