Would have to be some retention. NJD has Hughes, Holtz and Bahl to pay the following summer
Currently signed $76m
Lazar replacement $1m
Bastian replacement $1m
Allen replacement $3m
Bahl extension $2m
Holtz extension $3m
Hughes extension $8m
Total $94m ($1.5m over cap)

McTavish is our 2C Zegras will be moved to the wing.
McTavish has spent a chunk of time on the third line as a demotion for poor performances.

And that I believe was good for him
I thought he looked a lot better when he was playing 4C with Ross and Silfvy I think it was compared to the games before where he was barely even there

No doubt they would prefer not to have it, but I think if they were willing to attach a 4th round pick to do it, he would be traded already

They definitely will have their cap challenge but as a major contender, others will be sacrificed first (i.e. Knight) in order to keep core pieces like Reinhart and Montour in the fold.

Depending on the lottery and who we pick in the 2024 draft, I might prefer to just let FLA make the risky long term signing of an almost 30 year old player, and then make them an offer for Lundell. But I certainly wouldn't mind signing Reinhart.

Most of what players pay in taxes is Federal taxes, which you still have to pay even in Florida or any other no income tax states. He would only actually pay around $500k more in taxes, which certainly isn't nothing, but it isn't as significant as people make it seem. I think players are more drawn to the climate, when it comes to places like Florida.

Grier has to have some vets other than Granlund, Rutta and Vlasic. We need to import some wingers so we are not asking our kids to carry the offensive load. Hoffman, Lebanc and Barabonov is 11.5m in cleared space I also think Couture might be a permanent IR candidate

My Best Predictions
TB's right side hasn't been the best but it definitely has gotten better with time. I don't think the addition of Tanev isn't unwelcome, I do think the right side is our weakest, but being a fringe team at the moment with limited assets for the future is definitely a killer for us here. Might be poking around for cheaper solutions or just depending on internal promotions until playoff time.

Ok, that’s fairly accurate
But we really have built a solid base to have a good team for a while
We’ve had a bunch of injuries this year & are finally getting healthy. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out
As far as Benson goes, idk how much he has to gain by playing in the WHL this season? But i don’t think it would hurt him either

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackSC87</b></div><div>I think calling Wennberg a “marginal upgrade” over Suter or Blueger is quite the insult to Wennberg honestly. And I’m really not gonna say much about it other than go look at their points totals over the last few years.
Second, I do agree that Larsson would fit well in VAN but I’m unsure if they’d be looking to sell guys with multiple years still on their deal.</div></div>
Suter and Wennberg have pretty much identical point totals 2 of the last 3 years. Wennberg is also a sub 40pt guy. I like Wennberg and he's better than Blueger but I don't think by enough to really change much and I think Suter and Wennberg are pretty damn equal. Suter is very very strong defensively and on the PK.

Not Their Year
I appreciate you knowing that even if Seattle ends up selling this deadline it will likely be a soft sell of rental players with an eye towards reloading for next year, instead of a full teardown involving the selling of key players. Kudos!
Some minor feedback on your trades: While I would love to get a first rounder for Eberle, I don't really see that happening unless he picks up his scoring. Right now, I'd peg his value at around a second round pick plus a decent prospect/young NHLer in need of a change of scenery. The return on Wennberg might be a touch optimistic too, I would say he nets a second rounder but maybe not second and third rounders. I think you have about the right value on Schultz, although with him being half retained I think the Kraken might be able to extract a halfway decent prospect in addition to the third round pick, but that's a minor point. There's a lot of time left between now and the trade deadline though, so player valuations could easily change as we get closer to deadline day.
As a Kraken fan, this is a lot better than most Kraken ACGM's that I usually see on this site, so once again, kudos!

Still not sure how they make this cap work
Holmberg doesn’t need waivers to go down, doesn’t get claimed.
Easiest way would likely be by trading Jarnkrok, and hoping Nick Robertson can score the goals Jarnkrok would have.
